Thanks Carol, this style of quilt is on my list of wants. I’ve never bought a jellyroll , but I still have plenty of scraps to use and fabrics had I really don’t have a project for. Again Carol hope all is going well and a special thanks for all you do. 👍❤️🙂
Thank you Carmen! Have a great summer and thanks for watching.
Thanks Carol! I love that there are so many possible placements of colors & low volumes that give such different looks to this block. You mentioned that you sew the pieces into the twos & threes ahead -which made the light bulb turn on in my brain- they can be sewn as leader/enders! Thank you for your wonder videos.
You are so welcome!
That was a light-bulb moment for me, too!
Thank you for explaining any size will work as long as the finished length is twice the finished width. Easy peasy!
Thanks so much for the tutorial. I've been wanting to make a potato chip quilt, but was wanting to do one a bit more controlled. The two blocks you've shown fit the bill perfectly! Again, thanks for the Calculators and tutorials.
You are so welcome!
Thank you! This would be a great ongoing project, using leftovers as you go!
Absolutely! Thanks for watching.
Great idea. Each block or a few blocks could be a memento of a previous quilt!
I am doing the same and saving up 2.5 by 4.5 inch rectangles. I will be doing one of the versions shown by Brenda from Conquering Mount Scrapmore.
I agree. That's one reason I love scrap quilts so much!
Just finished some potato chip quilts for charity from my left over pieces they came out real good I like making these quilts
I think they are really fun to do! Thanks for watching.
Many many thanks, Carol!
My pleasure!
Nice ideas for scrap busting. Thank you. New subbie
Thanks so much! 😊
Love the Tula version!
Great placement idea thanks Carol
Thanks for watching!
Thank you Carol. Excellent video. I really like being able mix solid center and piced centers.
I used the calculator, but for the 12" block it instructs to cut 18-4.5" strips. I want to use a jelly roll. Is there a way to calculate how many jelly roll strips are required for 42-12" squares?
Pat
If you are using Jelly Rolls then the block finished size is 12". In the results it tells you how many 2" x 4" finished Rectangle Patches to cut. You will get 16 of these rectangles from one Jelly Roll Strip. Divide the number of patches by 16 to get the number of strips you need. Example - for 35 blocks finished at 12" each, you need 630 rectangles. 630 / 16 = 39.375 strips. Round up to 40 strips.
Hope this helps!
Checking in to see if you are doing ok!
I am doing well! I am frantically working on improving the website so my focus is on that. I plan to have everything ready by early July....As Martha Stewart says "It's a good thing!" Thanks for asking.

So cute & easy!
Thank you! 😊
I hope you see this question bcoz I am confused. Which came first, the potato chip block or broken courthouse steps? LOVE your videos!! You always explain everything clearly and don't mind sharing patterns with everyone. THANKS!!
I haven't heard of Broken Courthouse Steps, so I guess I don't know the answer to the question! Thanks for watching.
Just found your channel. Great video, but the links do not work.
I have been updating the site. Sorry for the confusion. Here is the new link - quiltnotes.com/pages/30002-Potato-Chip.php?number=30002
