My honest opinion about this video, the reason behind why the beads lost its shine is because he never use damp cloth to remove the excess glue which stays on the surface of each beads. Mod Podge glue as sealant should only occupy the empty gaps in between the beads. If you let the glue stays on the surface of the beads it will cover the facets of the beads, making it less shiny. I had no intention to argue..its just my opinion..thanks for sharing.God Bless
Hi Mario, You are correct. We should have used a damp cloth to wipe away the excess on top. That would still seal in the diamonds but also allow them to sparkle. Thanks for the great comment. Paul
When I wiped with damp cloth after applying clear modge podge it went on white then went clear as it dried then became cloudy. It ruined a finished customized diamond painting and nothing I tried fixed it. Now I'm terrified of sealing another one. Someone suggested resin but I've not seen much about that. Glue yellows over time doesn't it? I don't know what to do. This was a year ago and I've been hoping more info or products would come out. Any advice welcome.
Im new to this im doing my first painting 3/26/21 because I heard it was good for anxiety and depression and I suffer pretty badly from both so I hope this helps me out I plan on gifting this to my mom once I seal it and make a frame for it wish me luck every body 😆

My mom and I have been doing diamond for a little over a year now and love it! We have sealed a few projects and have used Mod Podge Super Gloss, Liquitex Gloss Medium & Varnish, and DecoArt Triple Thick. We've found that the Mod Podge gives us the best finish. After watching your video, I think we're going to try a couple of these now. Thank you for sharing!
I have coasters with the shiny rhinestone looking drills, may I please ask suggestions on the best product to seal them?? I greatly appreciate any help ❤ (They're made already, I just have to add the cork bottoms & seal the coasters)
I'm looking for the best idea to seal small makeup bag size bags, regular size bookmarks & corner bookmarks & I'm going to use your recommended Clear Elmer's Glue! ❤ (They all JUST came in the mail today) So if someone knows better about these "small/heavily used & handled items", I'd LOVE suggestions PLEASE!!!
@@diamondxpres-diamondpaintingcomment in another video David Elmer’s cracked and fell off taking the rounds with it. Any idea why this happened. I was going to use it but now I’m nervous.
I have been doing Diamond painting for our 1 year now. I apsalottly love doing them. But how do you measure them so you can get the right size frame. Or how do you even do the framing?
Hi Dawn, Thank you for your comment. We are working on a diamond painting framing video. There are a lot of methods. We want to explore as many as possible.
I use the Elmer's glue in the bottle with a sponge brush and let it day overnight on a flat surface. It turns out just as starkly as when I did the picture. Wash the sponge in warm water and a bit of detergent and it is ready for the next one.
I bought the Diamond Dot glue ( not mentioned or shown here ) & sealed a large painting. I liked the way it went on. It had a pale blue tint so you could easily see where you've already glued. However, after 3-4 hrs, it was still sticky. Didn't like that. I think just regular glue is best. Don't waste ur $$ on the diamond dot glue.
i'm doing a big diamond painting and because i don't have enough space, i want to roll the finished part but i realize the beads are come off...I already sealed the finished part with modpodge super gloss but it still come off...my question is did i use too small amount? or modpodge can't stick the beads?
I did try the mod podge high gloss and yes it made it stiff but I felt it took the sparkle away from the drills. I want the drill sparkle there but a good seal so they don’t fall off. Anyone found one that the bright sparkle still there after your application of __________ is dry
Hi Leslie, We are doing another video that will be out in a day or two. In it we run a damp cloth over the diamond painting after we do the sealing but before it drys. This makes sure the diamonds are sealed in place but also removes the sealant on top of the diamonds so the sparkle and shine remain. Thanks for watching and commenting. Paul
I purchased Mod Podge Sparkle over the internet; I think it was on ebay. I apply it and then wipe it down with a damp paper towel and it truly sparkles!
Hi Edith, We recommend roll it with a roller first. Remove any loose items such as pet hair, paper, dust, etc. Fill in any missing diamonds. Take your time here. Then seal your dp. We have a few more videos on this channel on sealing. Hope this helps.

I roll them & then frame them & those haven't needed to be sealed. I do have a few that are in a portfolio & I guess we'll see on those? But now that I've made coasters & I'm about to make some bookmarks, keychains & small bags (makeup bag size) I'm looking for the best sealant bc these will be in use & won't be covered by glass or hard plastic. That's where the need comes in I think?
At the risk of sounding like an ingrate, I believe you haven't titled this otherwise-helpful video accurately. This is not a how-to video so much as it is a comparison video, in this case, of different finishes.
has anyone used mod podge every time I do to seal it takes forever to dry leaves it tacky and takes the sparkle away I'm doing a big one atm the diamonds r falling off so I need to seal it soon but don't no what to use to keep sparkle
Hi Effy, There is a better way to seal. Right after you apply it wipe it clean with a moist towel. This removes the seal from the top but leaves it on the sides. Check out this video. ua-cam.com/video/YvzE4Jf5K64/v-deo.html Paul
Another idea, after you have wiped the glue off from the top of the drills, is to use a glass cleaning product for windows. Spray it onto a paper towel and gently wipe over the tops of the drills. This also helps to bring back its sparkle.

Yes you can!
Is it compulsory to seal the diamond painting?
No, not at all. It is optional. Diamond Painting should last several years without any issues even without sealing them.

Can the diamond paintings be rolled for transporting a after they’ve been scaled?
We’ve never tried that. Sealing tends to stiffen them up a but
You definitely wanna roll it before sealing it

I used Clear Elmer Glue and was told from people on Facebook in groups I'm in that the glue will turn yellow is that true? What about tacky glue?
