I was rank 3 for 4 days, due to a quest bugs.) General game mechanic failures (The most common I found, was when my attacks just turned off, and I could not hit.) My guild made the Merchant Ship. Costs like 300 lumber, Iron and Fabric and it has something like 20 trade pack slots to carry around. It is just awesome to have 20 people on a boat doing the trade runs. It also comes with deep sea diving equipment for 2 people.
What you will need: Plans (found at mirage isle; cost 30 quest tokens for clipper ship) Lumber (100) Iron (100) Fabric (100) Dry dock placed in a body of water on the mainland (place near crafting stations)
I played ESO for while but got bored after a few weeks honestly. AA just gets it. It's doesn't try to be a single player and a MMO like ESO does. The scale of AA is amazing. They have proper mounts and pet interaction. Questing feels natural with a good rhythm. I love true sandbox MMOs like EVE. I don't always want to quest and do dungeons. I like how AA just has so much stuff to do. Crafting system is deep and you can just keep building shit you know? That is why I became a PC gamer for deep rich gameplay,

I admit landscape detail isn't the best but the view, distance, lighting and water in this game looks absolutely amazing. ESO doesn't actually look that much better, it's just that there's so much dense grass, trees etc in ESO so it kinda looks nice. But graphics wise? AA for me.
Does it matter what kind of fabric u use? I'm trying to build a boat right now but it doesn't work, I have 100 lumber, 100 iron and 100 fabric from cotton. I also have that clip thing. I'm getting pretty irritated bc I have been trying to get this boat for weeks now
OK I'm kind of confused. So with boat building you of course need to gather the materials however in order to get those materials don't you need a farm? Which means you need land yes? But I have heard that those who are free accounts have no access to land. We can't have farms or houses (not complaining I don't need a house lol) but if this is true how can us free player build boats if we have no access to the materials that are on the land that we can't actually own? I hope I'm making sense, I started the game the day open beta release and am now level 22. I just wanna know how boating works by the time release is so I know what to do and know what I do have access to and don't. So far I have no clue how to get materials to build because I don't own a farm because I can't own one due to me being a free account. Now unless this access thing is untrue please tell me so I don't go around thinking I'm restricted to certain things. I hope I make sense and my questions are clear. I just need this confusion to be cleared up, me and my friend can't seem to figure it out, the materials thing. Sorry its long I know but any replies would be appreciated.
Oh you can get the materials without having your own farm. Its just you have to search the land for trees you can actually cut down. Though I'm not sure right now of the acquiring of fabric, it doesn't mean you have to be a subscriber.
What happens is you can either find a public farm where you can plant your mats with a 24 hour protection on them. Or do what I've been doing and flying to the highest least visited parts of a mountain and planting them somewhere out of sight and out of mind. I've then put a stop watch to give me a heads up of when my stuff is ready to harvest and just keep rince and repeating.

And if you're not a patron then you end up like my friend who has been in the Q since 11AM today and only 14 positions away from actually playing before I left for work at around 9:30 pm. But from what I hear you might want to give it a couple weeks when the people who don't want to play start drifting out. Who knows? Maybe their plots of land will be freed up and you won't have to go planting in the wild. The last time I did it three other players got out of invis and stole half of my crop. I let it go. My alt is going to be a Pirate and I'm going to role play the ish out of that guy.

The only thing that concerns me is what path is trion going to follow with this game knowing the direction that the game followed in the korean version. For what I understand: dailys quest, a lot more importance on crafting wich could be pretty annoying without premium, more relevance to de "farmville" aspect of the game, more safezones.. I really like this game, I just hope Trion learns from the korean version experiencie and provide someting different adapted for occident consumers, if they areble to, of course.
Trion said they want to keep it as sandbox as possible and that they will patch it accordingly, by their own terms. Korean version has nothing to do with western version. They have free hands.

When I first heard of this game I didn't think much of it. But seeing more of it because of Force and his channel. I actually think it's interesting now. Destiny, Wildstar, Elder Scrolls Online, and now Warhammer 40k Eternal Crusade still have more of my attention in terms of MMOs. But still, Archeage has a lot of stuff to do and that is very cool. Yes, but honestly, being a f2p in this game will be pretty hard. The game is very crafting orientated, and f2p crafting is a LOT harder than premium crafting is. To anyone looking into this game I'd say to just go for premium, this game is worth it.

I remember archeage from back when the yogscast covered it while it was still in korean. I remember wanting to make a character with one of the musical instrument lute looking weapons and cast magic. I also wanted to be a ship captain. Something about that combination sounded awesome to me.

lol the end game is 12, 4 man vet dungeons, a zone entirly made up of 4 man quests....and 12 man raid bosses...silly man

ESO will probably never do stuff like this. They just stick to the traditional formula and make a bring game that plays like every other MMO.
