He wasn't a Buddhist, but "I have no stake in the outcome" is actually a radical and deeply challenging to hold mindset.

I can't believe I used to hate this guy, I guess that was back when I was another mindless tool of the church and my family, just absorbing all the things I heard as truth. But once you actually start thinking for yourself you realize this man is a genius.

People REALLY need to understand that when we vote, we vote for someone else to vote for us. IF our vote is even counted at all. They tell you that in school. IN SCHOOL. GREAT MAN. RIP George.

Not seen this before and I have to say that George Carlin made the politician look very uncomfortable a couple of times - too much truth, maybe?. The material I've seen of GC's stage shows has made me aware of how accurate and astute an observer he was of so many important issues and how carefully he crafted his 'act'. He was able to tell the uncomfortable truth in a way that made people laugh as well as think. It's sad that he is no longer able to open people's eyes with his unique style.

Man I love George for speaking the truth on public television, that is hard to come by in this country. To not be afraid to say shit and be criticized takes a lot of balls. I respect George Carlin deeply, but I won't follow his path and be a spectator, no I will be an activist, I will dig for the freedom that we have lost.

In short, you're quite out of chances if you're hit directly by a hurricane like that, rich or poor. There's a nice movie with Morgan Freeman and Jack Nicholson, they're both retiring with cancer and decide to see the world. One is a millionaire and another one is a regular guy. Everyone suffers in life one way or the other. As far as Georgie is concerned, he was very disillusioned with people and went toward quite dark humour when got older, yet still he was hilarious. He wasn't just about bashing status quo,
listen to take the right lessons :)

@Johniisss People who tell the truth are always those ridiculed the most. They're never seen as right and sane when they first speak out. It is only much later, sometimes even after they die, is when they're vindicated and accepted as the right people that they are.

The most annoying kind of people are the ones who think "you drive a Porsche so you owe me". Your material things don't define your happiness. I've been through some horrible pain in life a few times and my bank account didn't heal me. I'm not going around everywhere complaining every day because a lot of people have it better. Be happy for all the good things.

Why were all of the power tools looted from the hardware store I worked in at the time when the entire area was out of power? Trust me, there were more than just "one case or two cases". It was very wide spread, though of course not everyone was involved (most people were just worried about how they and their families were going to survive).

Are you sure. Because my history books tell me there was never such a thing as a communist country, so there can't be a post-communist country either.
A country ruled by communists who want to create a communist country is not the same as having a communist country.
That's like me saying I love red fences and I want to create red fences, I then become the owner of a fence, but as long as I'm not painting that fence red or am nowhere near close to finishing, the fence is not red.

  • @GGBundy
    @GGBundy 13 років тому

Trollish or not, it's just an opinion!! I respect your opinion as well. I just don't understand why someone can't voice an opinion without personally getting attacked. Because in the end my opinions don't affect your life and vice-versa so why get so defensive? I didn't personally attack you. I just made a comment about a dead comedian.

@Johniisss to borrow from Dave Chappelle (who is also a victim of this), "crazy" is a dismissive term. It gets thrown around a lot towards people who attempt to expose the truth and tell it like it is in attempt to strip them of their credibility, and it usually always works.

That being said, the economy of the eastern bloc countries was horrible. And I think the main problem was due to agricultural collectivization. Your countries were nowhere near ready on a technological level to endure the pressure that Stalin was putting on it. Your country was never able to achieve communism and Stalin's dictatorial reign only made the public distrust communism.
I give one advice: Don't distrust communism, distrust totalitarianism and dictatorships.

  • @Bockwursty

What kind of talker is that? I mean George Carlin says that the country is owned only by rich people. He says it is the opposite, but instead of giving reasons and facts his only return is: " Is this Karl Marx talking to me?" and gesture that shows that he is really uncomfortable with the content of the conversation right now. Next things is that he tries to change the subject(and failed). If you can't talk or state your opinion then what the fuck are you doing on a talkshow?
