Very thorough thanks for the review. I don´t entirely agree with the comments on sound signature. After hearing it in a store, I found the sound signature quite typical for bose: it sounds good to the untrained ear but will fall short for hifi freaks. Bose generally has too much bass in the 80 hz region while still lacking punch. Treble usually falls short due to an early cut-off around 16-17 kHz. However, knowing they produce this sound signature with 2 full range drivers, I find myself quite impressed.
Thanks for the comment Tim. Glad you liked it :) I agree with your comment actually. In terms of frequency tests my tests are very similar to close to what you have written. Though when compared to the previous generation of speakers the home speakers range has somewhat of a bit more ‘boosted’ of the same frequency. Which makes it sound sharper and thumpier. I didn’t necessarily go well deep in to this in the video because I still wanted to keep it a wide range audience friendly :) But thanks again for calling that out and commenting on the video. It’s always great to engage with my audience 😊

Hi Nain, thanks for leaving a comment. To be honest my repair skill sets aren’t great at component level. At max, what I can suggest is to check all the solders if you have the speaker unassembled. Hi Aze Ryan Ching, as of now I haven’t experienced that. Where is ur speaker placed, because at times placement can have a big impact especially with the 500 because it’s a fairly compact unit for the amount of bass it produces.
Hi Carlos. Good question. I think it depends on how you would like to use the speaker.. are you getting it for home use or do you plan to use it for outdoors? Basically in terms of functionality both are almost the same. Portable is battery operated and I think has only 1x speaker unlike HS500 which has 2. HS500 is louder. Portable speaker can be a bit more versatile as you can carry it from room to room. So basically if you are looking for a home based setup then HS500 will be a better option unless you tend to move the speaker a lot within your house. Hope this helps :) Please feel free to reach out should you have further questions :) Thanks
Hi. So they have a similar sound signature and that's quite a common thing for Bose products. Though Home Speaker has a better and more well rounded sound which is achieved because of 2 sound drivers and bigger size which allows for the audio/sound to expand a bit more than the portable speaker. This gets even more relevant as you increase the volume on these speakers. So between the two, if you aren't moving the speaker around too much and it's primarily for home use then I would definitely lean towards HS500. Hope this clarifies :)

Is there any way to overcome the bluetooth latency issue? I connected to my samsung crystal4k tv but unfortunately it does not come with aux output and only optic output is available. So can you suggest a way I can connect the bose speaker to the TV. Thanks in advance.
Hi Prakashik, as the home speaker 500 is r built to be used as a speaker for the TV, the latency will be there. Certain devices will give you lower latency than other depending on what chipset they use. Unfortunately there isn’t a way to know which ones will be lower latency. But in short, there isn’t much you can do about the latency unless your TV has an option to ‘sync audio’ or something like that. Not sure. For connecting via the 3.5mm Jack, you could buy an optical to 3.5mm converter. You should find one if you search for ‘optical to 3.5mm’ on Amazon in your region for about £10. Hope this helps :)
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons ahh yes there is a converter right? I will check that out. Since I already have the bose 500 speaker at home I dont want to invest in another speaker. I will try out the converter. Thanks a lot for the suggestion. 😊
Hi, very informative video. I was just wondering if they could replace soundbar for the TV? I was planning to buy one and then came across home speaker 500.
Thanks Karan. Glad you found it helpful:) Could they replace the soundbar: I have tried using them with an iPad to watch movies and they work well most of the times. There can be some lag at times when using Bluetooth but if you were to use it with a TV, I am assuming you will use it with and AUX cable. For watching movies they produce good sound with ample bass BUT you won’t get that proper stereo that you might get with a good soundbar. But if you are not too worries about that then, yes they do produce good well rounded audio for movies as well. Of course don’t expect and dolby decoding or any of those fancy features. You will also have to think about their placement so that it sits right in the middle of the tv so that it doesn’t feel like sound is coming from one side of the TV. Hope this helps. Thanks for the detailed review. Can I pair two home speaker 500’s to one device (especially TV) and play it simultaneously to get a surround experience?
Hi Santhosh, I have personally not tried this but you could pair one home speaker to the TV and then create a speaker group to have audio from the TV come through both the speakers. Unfortunately this won't give you stereo sound so it wont be true surround sound. Also, there will be considerable amount of lag between audio and TV, making the experience, not so pleasant. Hi, thanks for leaving a comment. Glad that you liked the review ♥️. Sonos (and a few other brands) have been on my list since I reviewed the Bose range. I buy all the products I review so it's a matter of time 🙂
The speaker sound in your recording seems quite punchy. But I trust Bose and your review. I’m sure they would’ve done a good job with the speakers. I use Harman Kardon Studio speaker as my home Bluetooth speaker. Quite happy with that and it has a dedicated mini subwoofer as well.
You hit the nail on the head. That's true.. the home speaker 500 is a lot more punchier in comparison to the previous gen speakers, which had more well rounded bass. You must have a keen ear; not many people pick on this. That being said, thanks for leaving a comment :)
Hi, this speaker supports simple sync for pairing with other Bose smart speakers. So if your Bose revolve product supports Bose simple sync you should be able to group / pair it with this one. Here's a link for all the products that support this technology www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/support/article/using-groups.html Hope this helps :)
Actually simplesync works through Bluetooth. So if your speaker is one of these - SoundLink Revolve Bluetooth speaker - SoundLink Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker It should support simplesync.. the above two are listed as compatible products in the link I shared earlier.
Thanks for the great review! I love Bose speakers. Always sound great to my ear; However, I hate their updates. They're as bad as Windows updates. Currently, my Bose 300 soundbar is out of commission because their update crashed it. I have to go through a circus to get it working again. The surround sound speakers I bought for the 300 soundbar haven't worked in a year because an update crashed them. It's just on and on with Bose updates. So, I'm looking at Sonos now. Edit: Just know that if your Bose device is tethered to wifi you will get Bose updates. At some point in the not to distant future it will stop working, and you will have to find the reddit forum where someone smarter than you and Bose figured out how to fix it. Good luck!
Hey Victor, thanks for leaving a comment. I didn't know that and lucky enough to not have yet experienced that issue, which I can imagine would be terrifying experience especially if the warranty has run out. I wonder if you have reached out to Bose support about this and what kind of reply did you get? PS: Sonos is great as well. I feel they are similarly minimally designed products with a nice sound signature; somewhat similar to the original bose sound signature (Pre home speaker range) which is brill. Keep me posted if you go down the route of Sonos and how you find it. Thanks again for leaving a comment : )

Is Bose 500 better one than Bose SoundLink Revolve+
Is it ok to get the Bose SoundLink Revolve+ repaired, as I feel it might have the same issues again, maybe after a year.
You suggestion will be of great value to me
With kind regards Jeeju
Get apple only if you are bought in to their full ecosystem else Bose might be the right way to go.
You could also look in Bose home speaker 300 which is cheaper and of course comes with the usual Bose audio quality.
Revolve+: I haven’t Personally used it. But in general I don’t have the need for battery based speakers. Both 300 and 500 will be better than revolve in terms of audio reproduction I think.
Also, I have reviewed 300vs500 on my channel. Have a look at that one as well
So do i always plugg it in everytime i used it??
Hi! Yes, that is correct. Bose Home speaker 500 (and 300) need to be plugged in to mains in order to use them. There is no in built battery.
If you are looking for something that can be charged and moved around then Bose Portable Smart Speaker might be the way to go.
Hope this helps. Please feel free to reach out should you have more questions 🙂
What would u say is the best bose home plug in speaker looking for the loudest one 😀
hi gains vill. Good question. I think when it comes to loudness, home speaker 500 is definitely the loudest from the home speaker range. I would also recommend watching this video (link below) which actually compares Home Speaker 500, 300 and Soundtouch 20 (previous generation speaker) in depth:

Hope this helps 🙂

Hi Kunanon, lovely to meet you and thanks a lot for such a lovely comment ♥️🙂
So glad that you found the content helpful.
another fantastic review. Wondeirng, if you could you do one for Sonos Five or Sonos products vs. Bose.
Hi, thanks for leaving a comment. Glad that you liked the review ♥️. Sonos (and a few other brands) have been on my list since I reviewed the Bose range. I buy all the products I review so it's a matter of time 🙂
Great review dude... impressed 👌🤙💯🎉🎊🎧
Thank you very much. So glad that you liked it and found it helpful :)
Thanks for leaving a comment ♥️🙂
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons absolutely.. I have revolve + ... it's stunning 🎼🥁🎷🪗🎸🎉🎊🎧 Subscribed🤙👌🍻🎶🎵
Thanks for your support :)
It has a popping and crackling sound when on high volume.
Great review! More monitor videos please.
Thanks! Will do! 🙂
Thank you for the review.
Glad you enjoyed it! Thanks for leaving a comment! :)
Thank you for a good detailed review.
Thanks for leaving a comment Alan. So glad that you found it helpful :))
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons hi can i play music together or pairing in bluetooth my bose revolve with bose home 500 speaker?
Hi, this speaker supports simple sync for pairing with other Bose smart speakers. So if your Bose revolve product supports Bose simple sync you should be able to group / pair it with this one. Here's a link for all the products that support this technology
www.bose.co.uk/en_gb/support/article/using-groups.html
Hope this helps :)
@@ToThePointReviewsComparisons I think it's no because my bose revolve is not a smart speaker actually a bluetooth only. Thanks anyways!
Actually simplesync works through Bluetooth. So if your speaker is one of these
- SoundLink Revolve Bluetooth speaker
- SoundLink Revolve+ Bluetooth speaker
It should support simplesync.. the above two are listed as compatible products in the link I shared earlier.
Muito bom....Consistente
Thanks | Obrigado :)
i really love my 🤤😎💪💪💪
Awesome!!
None of such bass sounds was heard at the demo.
Hi, thanks for leaving a comment. Not entirely sure what you mean. Could you please clarify?
Don’t order I have it. It will lock up at some point and u will have to take it to Bose and have it fixed
absolutely waste. buy wave system of Bose
Re malo
Se bloquea y no hay nadie que pueda desbloquearlo. Por ese precio. Terrible!
And no sound ridiculous!
I had to remove the audio samples as the studio which produced these tracks changed their usage rights. I have explained this in the video description as well. I know it sucks, but totally out of my control
FROM THE VIDEO DESCRIPTION
-- Unavailable Music Samples --
I had to remove the songs due to a copyright claim on 2 of the sample songs. Even though the content royalty free, the studio refused to release claim for this specific video. I have use the same song in my other video featuring the same speaker. Please use the link below to sample some music
