    Held my tuner up to the video and the blades fell under an A/Ab tone when struck (if that helps anyone). Great video buddy! I’m in Austin and about to get into scrolling. This vid will be a huge help.

      That's awesome. Hoping that the sound still transfers over. Glad your getting into scrolling. I need to get back on these videos so it helps others. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out!

      I just asked a question about using a guitar tuner. I wonder if the key would be different for various blades? I should ask him what blades he was using using that you got the A/Ab?

    You should do a video on how to put a blade in. I have a Ryobi scroll saw, I got many years ago. When I would break a blade, I would call my dad and he would come down (we lived about 2 blocks away) and replaced it for me. He did dhow me how, but it's been years since I used it and I'm wanting to get back into wood crafting. I went out to cut a piece of wood a couple of weeks ago and the blade broke, just got new blades {my Ryobi is flat pins} the only one I could get were the reverse blades {ordered the regular blades off Amazon will be here Monday}. I've never put the reverse blades in before and I forgot how the bottom end goes into the bottom slot/holder whatever it's called.
    Great video!

    I have yet to own a scroll saw...maybe in a few years.
    But what I feel I really need NOW is one of those custom branding irons you use in your intro!

    Great video!!
    Here is how I get my tension right: step 1- buy a cnc machine. Step 2- lure an expert scrollsawer over to my house with the promise of v-carving. Step 3- ask scrollsawer to tension the blade.

      Hahahahahaha and it worked!!! Just wish I could see more from you on the scroll saw other then cutting the tabs off your CNC pieces!! Lol

    I have a guitar tuner that is very sensitive. I wonder if it would be useful for blade tension? What blades did you have in each of those scroll saws to test the tension? I'm very new at scrolling and just subscribed to your channel.

    Thanks for the clear video. I bought a 1991 Sirox scroll saw and will set it up this week. I wonder: The clamps (where you clamp the blade in) can rotate left and right, should these be loose or tightened?
    Thanks in advance!

    • @5x30Workshop
      @5x30Workshop  3 роки тому +1

      Im not to firmiliar with that brand. I believe the WEN you can turn the blade so it can either cut front to back or from one side to the other. The clamps should have some movment to them when there is no tention but once you have the proper tention they really shouldn't move.
