Incorporating foods like avocados and nuts before bedtime to help stabilize blood sugar is such a great idea! I’ve always struggled with blood sugar spikes, and now I have a list of go-to foods to help manage that. The section about berries and their fiber content was especially interesting-definitely going to start eating more of those!
I eat almost all the foods mentioned in this video. I might need to tweak when I eat them for more effectivenees and enhance their benefits. Thank you for a great and effective communication.
There is no shortage of advice on line regarding this matter but THIS is by far THE most credible information about Diabetes that is exponentially devouring the lives of people including children, that everyone MUST listen to save their lives!
I disagree with the suggestion to avoid full fat diary and take low fat dairy. The low fat ones have more sugar to compensate for fat. The notion that fat is bad comes from 1950's. There is nothing wrong with fat as long as you have the ones which are termed healthy fats. Low fat stuff causes way more damage. Please update your knowledge.
Thank you for sharing your perspective! There's indeed ongoing debate about the health impacts of full-fat versus low-fat dairy. Many recent studies do suggest that full-fat dairy can have health benefits, especially when it's part of a balanced diet. I appreciate your input, and staying updated on evolving research is important for all of us!
This approach to diabetes seems totally nutty to me. I've had T1 since 2011 and had an A1c below 5.5 since 2013, and my last A1C was 4.8. I've stopped eating everything but beef, eggs and cheese. I never have a vegetable or a fruit of any sort. My cholesterol is normal, and I don't exercise. My daily insulin usage is around 12 units/day. I tend to eat 1-2 times per day. I can't understand what possibly benefits one could have doing a diet like you're suggesting. You do realize that there are essential fatty acids and amino acids (porteins), but there's no such thing as an essential carbohydrate.
I am diabetic, no meds at all, a1c 5.1. I eat seeds, nuts, eggs, meat, fish, butter, yoghurt, all vegetables, fibre rich fruits, no processed foods. Fact is we are all different and no one size fits all approach works.
You're absolutely right! Dark chocolate does contain calories and fat, and unless it's 100% unsweetened, it typically includes refined sugar. For people managing blood sugar, it's essential to check the percentage of cocoa in the chocolate and aim for varieties with 70% or more, as they tend to have less sugar. The key is moderation-dark chocolate can offer health benefits like antioxidants, but overconsumption or choosing overly sweetened varieties can counteract those positives.
To address the needs of poor communities, it’s essential to focus on affordable, nutritious food options. In places like Kolkata, simple yet nourishing foods like lentils, rice, seasonal vegetables, and locally grown greens can be staples. Education about kitchen gardening, using available space to grow basic vegetables, can also help. Empowering communities with knowledge about sustainable, budget-friendly health practices can improve overall well-being, particularly in resource-constrained areas.
