Miss this sound. Just to correct some of your comments these units are still fitted with Brush traction motors - the method in which they are powered (the current DC to AC inverter) has been changed from GTO "chopper" to whiney "IGBT". My friend works for SET at Slade Green so I asked him....
How can you compare the acceleration of a 140 ton train to a bus weighing 15 tons? In any case most new buses are tuned for economy and accelerate very slowly and in London it will be rare if they exceed 30 mph!
Man I remember going on these in 2010-11 from beckenham to Brixton and then boarding the old 1967 Victoria line stock just before it got scrapped - I was 12 f me didn’t feel that long ago - enjoy life ppl!
The class 325 has the same body (freight version) as the class 465's but the same chassis and motors as the class 319's as the design of the class 325's was based on the class 319's.
I personally like the 700s. but it's true,I preferred going on the 465s to gillingham via gravesend to my uni from London bridge along this route like the last year and a half ago before it stopped. Definitely one of My favourite trains
Not at all. The R110A uses Adtranz GTO VVVF, if you want trains that makes the same sound, you have the Lille trams, the Toronto T1 subway trains or Los Angeles Siemens P2000 trams
these motors sound like scrillex pracricing bass levels.

yAwWiE?
they do as well

This is still a good motor sound to listen to, even though the motor's gone somewhere else
+Subwaygameguy98 No the original motors are still in place. It's the GTO traction package which has been replaced.
So the BREL 465s don’t have VVVF drives?
@benobve Just love that brush sound of the 465s its better than the hitachi one
hitachi ones are good as well
@@narunpardeshi4422 semeins sound the best
At least I managed to hear this when I was 4 😌
I went on one last in 2007 at 7-8 years old haha
You're lucky.
I know it’s a train but I miss the class 465 old sound I remember hearing this sound when I was little
Holy sound.
Such a clean image & sound for the time ... What camera was you using?

Sounds like the Meneghino Milan metro train at the start
@asha893 No, 325s are basically 319s underneath
basically!

Excuse my Mandela effect
Brush motor sounds the best
I miss you brush motor 😥
Sounds like a bloody jet engine
@Andrew Gwilt, stop lying about everything! There is no way that 365's sound like brush motor 465's! It's like saying 142's sound like voyagers!
@LondonMidlandFan2009 its before they changed up the way the motor works
@LondonMidlandFan2009 thats okay u learn new things
How about this go and ride a 465/0,1 now then say oh I am dumb use your brain this was 2010 now it’s 2019
Construction of the 465/1 series is provided by ABB (Asea Brown Boveri).
Part of that company comes from the country I live in.
@benobve was that a 465/0 or 1
may be both

Am I the only one who hears the synth solo from Manfred Mann's "Blinded By the Light"?! 🤣🤣
Thyristors beat IGBTs ANY DAY!
Especially the non squirell cage TIM970 motors with thyristors
GTO VVVF*, Thyristors makes the sound you can hear on the Class 319 or the 1992 Stock
@@imaginox9 They are GTO thyristors
@@passeficknayshenallflaiugh9411 That's what I said

The make of the 465/0 is BREL
@asha893 ah right :) thanks for the info dude
why are you talking to yourself
dont these have the same traction motors as the class 325 ?
nope

325s are 319s covered in 465
No. 325s HAVE GEC B315s also used on Class 319 and 456 units.
Shame they got replaced with javworkers. I sadly never got to see one. 😔
They're still the same motors, don't worry. Just the VF drive swapped
@@NSE465 ahh! Maybe with some tinkering, someone could bring them back....
