Irish had something outside of his service to go back to, he has a family back home and this is his ticket out. Hannah on the other hand, has had her homeland destroyed and family killed. Her life is devoted totally to her sacrifice. If you do not choose Hannah, Irish doesn’t go home, and Hannah goes home to nothing. Sending Hannah is, in my opinion, the best option

Irish might have a family to go back to but he realised that there were bigger issues in that moment hence why I gave him the C4

I don't think so, the lines you can hear after you complete the game has to be from when they were lost and had to survive after the fall in Serbia(?) where they sent Becker and Irish prisioners and then they find Hanna and this other guy who helped them to escape... This is because after that experience Irish started to trust more and more Hanna, so I really doubt whoever you chose to blow up the c4 survived the blast of the Explosion...

Fucking music was amazing in this game. So fitting, borderline depressing, got me in my feels. I loved BF4, my children will be subjected to these amazing games. Thank you Dice & thank you EA, my teen years were made by these games.

When I played for the first time, I chose Irish because I trusted him more.. let's just say that was the first videogame ending scene that made me start literally crying..
Originally I picked Irish I wasn't gonna because he's awesome but I was deep into the story and I waited along time to make a choice and Irish said something to me that hit me like a boulder and I shed a tear as I threw him the c4 , that was a painful choice he's my favorite character
I really like how the loss of the Valkyrie ending punishes you for your indecision and lack of conviction, it was the first one I saw being a master procrastinater and having huge problems with indecisiveness. I do agree that a Recker self-sacrifice ending would've been epic but would no doubt have become the default ending negating the need to make a choice between the other two, Recker having to stay up there for some reason would've made the forced choice seem a bit more reasonable too.

But I completely agree a option to do it yourself should have been added, I feel like that's what would happen if this was a true story, just in the middle of the argument jump down and blow the shit up.
Honestly it took me quite some time to decide because I liked both characters equally. I liked Hannah cause I thought she was a really good character, and even if she did betray us at the beginning she redeemed herself and earned both mine and irish's respect.
It took me time to decide too, for the exact opposite reason. Both characters were heavily annoying. Irish was the loose cannon of the squad. And Hannah was a foreign operative, and also annoying. Both of them throw Recker on the sidelines even though it's his squad. I wish you could just give them both the C4 and call it a day, either that, or you jump in yourself so you can finally end your misery after suffering through them both

Came back to watch in 2018 and battlefield 4 still has the best campaign imaginable. It's just an amazing campaign with an amazing plot and story and it's so emotional that I had a hard time deciding on who to sacrifice

Took me awhile to noticed this but most of the marines that were featured in this game besides pac and Irish is that most of the uniforms aren't marine uniforms. The digital woodland or desert uniforms for the marines werent even there. Most were wearing army uniform and recker was wearing maybe navy uniform considering his sleeves and his legs weren't of marine uniform. Not saying it ruins the game I just wanted to point it out.
I chose Hannah first time around for these reasons: 1. Didn’t want anymore true Tombstone members dead 2. Irish has a family 3. It’s logically more of an impact for Hannah to die. It would definitely be not only more profound to Irish who never really trusted/liked her until it was too late, but to have a Chinese operative who is also a WOMAN singlehandedly save the day? She’d be a legend, our own personal Mulan. Hannah was the right choice.
All the time you spend in the campaign being “in charge” but still working around the whims of Irish and Hannah. Sacrificing yourself would’ve been a nice full circle.
I chose Hanna because i hated her, but i waited a little bit to see if she would dive in the water and live or something... then the fucking ship exploded and the only person i cared about there was pac. but considering there was more Chinese on that ship than Americans i think i made the right choice. as long as irish lived. Also why couldn't Recker go down and either live or sacrifice himself. or couldnt he just throw the charge?
also, after our ship explodes, i just assumed hanna swam away and we blew up the chinese ship as well considering that her voice was still in the dialogue in the end

I waited it out, hoping it would result in me going down, but no. I have NO idea why they didn't make that an option, but my best guess is they didn't have time, considering the short story and VERY brief endings.
Just played the game for the first time. Man why didn't they give you an option to go yourself? I hate choices that basically make you send others to their deaths. I thought if I waited it would allow me to go or say game over.
Well since the 3rd option basically feels like game over I guess I have to go with Irish since they're both service men and know what they're getting into joining.
it was very hard to feel sad of either of them because the friendly AI in this game is god awful and made the entire campaign almost unplayable. None of them ever killed the people I told them to engaged and they always were 100m behind me. It pissed me the hell off. This was one of the worst campaigns I've ever played

The AI was so bad, at one point a friendly and enemy where within 10ft, neither behind cover, shooting at each other and missing. The friendly AI was completely pathetic and ruined the entire game for me. I only kept playing for the achievements

I chose hannah cause she suggested it first meaning she is ready for the consequences meanwhile irish just follow along cause he didn't want hannah to die ultimately hannah did it for her country while irish only did it because he didn't want to lose a friend so i chose hannah because she had the better conviction meaning she is less likely to regret it than irish.

Took me awhile to noticed this but most of the marines that were featured in this game besides pac and Irish is that most of the uniforms aren't marine uniforms. The digital woodland or desert uniforms for the marines werent even there. Most were wearing army uniform and recker was wearing maybe navy uniform considering his sleeves and his legs weren't of marine uniform. Not saying it ruins the game I just wanted to point it out.

When I first played this, I chose Irish cuz I thought he would’ve survived and I trusted him more than Hannah, huge mistake

I chose Hannah first time around for these reasons:
1. Didn’t want anymore true Tombstone members dead
2. Irish has a family
3. It’s logically more of an impact for Hannah to die. It would definitely be not only more profound to Irish who never really trusted/liked her until it was too late, but to have a Chinese operative who is also a WOMAN singlehandedly save the day? She’d be a legend, our own personal Mulan. Hannah was the right choice.
If they added the option to go in yourself i would love it

Its the same thing its just 3 endings. At the end they just blow up the Valkyrie and youll get the "To Valhala" ending

I couldnt choose the first time, so i got this ending thinkin i fucked up.
All the time you spend in the campaign being “in charge” but still working around the whims of Irish and Hannah. Sacrificing yourself would’ve been a nice full circle.

I chose Hanna because i hated her, but i waited a little bit to see if she would dive in the water and live or something... then the fucking ship exploded and the only person i cared about there was pac.
but considering there was more Chinese on that ship than Americans i think i made the right choice. as long as irish lived.
Also why couldn't Recker go down and either live or sacrifice himself. or couldnt he just throw the charge?
also, after our ship explodes, i just assumed hanna swam away and we blew up the chinese ship as well considering that her voice was still in the dialogue in the end

I have NO idea why they didn't make that an option, but my best guess is they didn't have time, considering the short story and VERY brief endings.

Just played the game for the first time. Man why didn't they give you an option to go yourself? I hate choices that basically make you send others to their deaths. I thought if I waited it would allow me to go or say game over.
Well since the 3rd option basically feels like game over I guess I have to go with Irish since they're both service men and know what they're getting into joining.

Let's all be all real the only people in the campaign we liked was Irish and maybe pac
it was very hard to feel sad of either of them because the friendly AI in this game is god awful and made the entire campaign almost unplayable. None of them ever killed the people I told them to engaged and they always were 100m behind me. It pissed me the hell off. This was one of the worst campaigns I've ever played
At the end when the chick was talking to me all I could think was "who are you?"
gothops154 I hated the single player. This story was pretty thought out but the gameplay fucking kill it. I loved BF3 Single Player but this was ridiculous.
***** haha wow my OP is over a year old. But yea BF4 was the worst SP experience of my life. The AI was so bad, at one point a friendly and enemy where within 10ft, neither behind cover, shooting at each other and missing. The friendly AI was completely pathetic and ruined the entire game for me. I only kept playing for the achievements
The friendly ai was pretty bad but at least you felt like a BADASS killing entire platoons with little to no help.

Like when u go to Battlefield Fandom It does say M.I.A so he might still be alive and in the credits u clearly hear irish and Hannah both talking.
I chose hannah cause she suggested it first meaning she is ready for the consequences meanwhile irish just follow along cause he didn't want hannah to die ultimately hannah did it for her country while irish only did it because he didn't want to lose a friend so i chose hannah because she had the better conviction meaning she is less likely to regret it than irish.
I chose Irish to go, only because he told me “My name is Irish, I’m lucky” so I thought “oh, yeah you’re right” then I was lied to when he blew up.
