When symbolism changes over time is a fascinating statement.
Like the 'low land' means the land low over there.
Like have u seen the mad cow _ we lost it over in the high land.
Oh u mean he's over in the low land.
No he's on the high land.
It's all relative _ when your sitting in a tree. No your mad cow is in the ditch over there _ stupid.

“Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate,” is such an interesting thing for Jung to have said because he also believed the unconscious to be infinite. Jung was directing western minds to the universal truth of consciousness as oneness, leading us back to spirituality which was then perceived as woo woo regarding the eastern teachings from which Jung drew his conclusions (ie the Secret of The Golden Flower). He had to strip psychology bare of soul for the western mind to absorb it, but foundationally his practices were based in long-practiced traditions of eastern mysticism.

    Tarot card reading = 158 = 5, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.

    Natural numbers = 179 = 8, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
    Occult Symbols = 179 = 8, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
    Sumerian tablets = 179 = 8, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
Sumerian cuneiform alphabet found on Sumerian tablets. ( drutska / Adobe) The cuneiform script was inscribed on a variety of material, including stone, metal, and wood. The medium of choice for the Sumerians (as well as other civilizations that used this script), however, was the clay tablet. Using a stylus (commonly made of reed), a scribe
    Astronomical key = 181 = 1, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
(2nd key) There are Seven Keys of Interpretation, according to H. P. Blavatsky, for each symbol in esoteric philosophy. This applies not only to the writings coming from the esoteric philosophy, but also "to every other allegory whether in the Bible or in pagan religions". Blavatsky maintained that the exoteric religions had kept a few of these keys, "Eastern Occultism alone being able to boast that it is in possession of the full secret, with its seven keys". These keys, however, are kept secret by occultists:
    The Beast system = 181 = 1, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4. (The Zodiac)
    Egypt's secrets = 181 = 1, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
    CCXX XCIII DCLXVI = 182 = 11, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
The technical title of the book is Liber AL vel Legis, sub figura CCXX, as delivered by XCIII=418 to DCLXVI, although this title never occurs in the Book itself, which refers to itself as "the Book of the Law" and "the threefold Book of Law" (chapters 1:35, 3:75). CCXX is 220 in Roman figures, representing The Tree of Life (10 numbers times 22 paths), and is the number of verses of the Book in typescript. XCIII is 93, the enumeration of both "The word of the law" Thelema and Aiwass. DCLXVI is 666, the number of Crowley as Great Beast both as Adept and Magus. This is a way of saying that the book was delivered by Aiwass (whose number is both 93 and 418) to Crowley, who is The Beast 666.
The facsimile manuscript of the Book is not, however, numbered 220, but XXXI (31) as the first chapter's verses are unnumbered in the original manuscript: that is, no verse numbers were dictated to Crowley for chapter one. Both editions were titled by Crowley AL, pronounced "El", value 31, so therefore Liber 31 is the manuscript of The Book of the Law called AL (not be confused with Liber 31 by C. S. Jones (Frater Achad), which is an exegesis of some of the qabalistic symbolism of the Book), whereas Liber 220 is the edited (strictly according to the editing instructions dictated as part of the text of the Book itself), printed form of the text: see The Equinox of The Gods for a full account by Crowley of the reception and publishing of the Book according to these internal instructions.
The original title of the book was Liber L vel Legis. Crowley retitled it Liber AL vel Legis in 1921, when he also gave the handwritten manuscript its own title.
    Creative writing = 183 = 3, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
    I know no limits = 183 = 3, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.
    12 DNA strand matrix = 183 = 3, English, In Chaldean = 49 = 4.

Go to the source. See the threshold of Ashurbanipal from Dur Sharrugin and ask yourself why that same symbol is present on (1) the Magdala Altar from the Migdal Synagogue, as well as on (2) ancient ossuaries from the Second Temple period (including multiple on an ossuary of "Yeshua son of Joseph"), and finally in Christianity as (3) the Vesica Piscis from which Jesus emerges at the Eschaton, as well as various early Christian depictions of circles with the Vesica Piscis obviously highlighted but not explicitly stated. You can find many many many examples of this, suggesting the concealment of certain information, certainly by whatever hegemony of the 1st century CE could coopt and corrupt the revelation of a sign, which is why the Christians refer to that sign as "the Sign of Jonah."
      Seriously.
      Check it out.

    • @Azupiru
      @Azupiru 8 місяців тому

There is a great deal more to be said about that, and the secret is widely revealed in many ancient Churches, though the Christians were not given the Eyes for seeing.

    • @Azupiru
      @Azupiru 8 місяців тому

It's true that the Roman Catholic Church was corrupted by that hegemony from its Pauline inception. That anyone thinks any "truth" escaped in any linguistically transmissible way shows how much people underestimate the reach of Rome over the span of three centuries, until it finally reached out to remove the Gnostics from Egypt as well as those who still understood cuneiform from Mesopotamia. The Gnostics didn't escape the reach of Rome. Why do people think the Catholic Church survived? Paul was a small fascist, and like the Croci Paulum, he will return to pay for his antiepisteme, his forsaking of the Lord, for which he was broken.
Early Christianity had some relationship to a specific six-petaled flower (found on Phoenician bowls, as well as on the pillar capitals of the City of David and the Second Temple), and that flower was referred to in Latin as Croci Paulum, "small crocus." In Hebrew, the name for the flower was Karkom, referenced only in Song of Songs. It was a necessary element of the Temple incense sacrifice. We have no idea how much Saffron was burned in temples and synagogues around the Mediterranean, but there must have been a great deal of Saffron produced in the Ancient Near East, and it is almost entirely wiped from the historical record with the exception of its symbolic trace, which is just as widespread as we know the production of Saffron was.
People laugh at the idea of the Church of Mary Magdalene at Rennes-le-Chateau, because it was taken up into some conspiracy theories regarding its construction and purpose in the 70s, which I have yet to even read a wiki about. Anyway, there was something concealed at that Church, which the Priest Sauniere discovered while analyzing certain symbols in the forests around Carcassonne. The Church at Rennes-le-Chateau apparently had some ancient pillar capitals and other iconography that led Sauniere to the concealed Truth, which he then had commissioned as artwork across the Church, placing the Crocus at the center of the crosses, for example, with the traditional golden dot at the center (unless you know the ancient iconography, you would never see this), and then in a massive relief depicting the Eschaton, tucked away subtly at the bottom of the hill, in the shade, is a depiction of an ancient, pre-Corinthian capital.
People paid Sauniere well for masses because the locals believed that something had been revealed to them, even though they could not ever piece it together. It remained a mystery.

I've always enjoyed the interpretation where The Emperor is the embodiment of the divine masculine (i.e. instigating forces) and the Empress the embodiment of the divine feminine, as well as an aspect of the archetype of the triple-headed deity. The hermit is a non-gendered representation of a point in the spiritual journey, though the precise breakdown of the symbolism escapes me.

The 20 major arcana of the Pamela Coleman Smith deck aare the 20 days, which are known globally,...the lesser cards 2 -10's are the 36 decans. Then the 12 sunsigns are the kings, queens and knights,...and the leftover 4 pages, ....may well be the four warning decans shown in redundancy.
Ghandi was there in England in the early formation of the golden dawn, and he would have certainly known the decans. The tarot order I list here , correlates instantly with other more permanent sets of images and descriptors, but itself is not an elite level presentation of the days and decans..... Hokusai did way better and of course the Maya and Chinese have elite level sets, as do the Hindu. If someone does not know the 20 days,... they are not a source of knowledge on the topic of the tarot or how it also correlates with genesis, which follows the decans in order by chapter, starting over again at 37. Exodus follows the 20 days in precise order by chapter twice round . frogs are #8 and hail and Thunder are #9. pretty simple.

Decades ago, Robert O'Neill & more recently Robert Place, Paul Huson & Nigel Jackson all mentioned the Platonic aspects in the Tarot, I myself relate the three examples of Plato's pure forms, cup (circle/Sun), triangle (Moon) & table (square/Earth & its 4 directions & elements) to the cup, that only three legs of the table are shown on early cards & the table of the Magician, who as Hermes Trismegistus his glyph also includes the Sun, Moon & Earth the three spheres as the juggler he is master of, to give one example.

The corruption or inversion of Tarot, we see at carnivals and "fun fairs" is "fortune tellers" reading people fortune, or asking the Tarot, who am I?
when Tarot is quite clear, is to be used by telling the Tarot, I am this that I am, and you can have a dialogue with the cards.
Since the cards are all supposed to represent the full human psyche.

Plus anyone looking at tarot probably has some ability to channel meaning, especially through symbols. And the meaning is highly personal. It seems all too obvious to me that the tarot symbology would have Egyptian roots.

Having read Jung's Collected Works, i recall no reference to Tarot and I have found no evidence in any historical record that Jung was aware of the Golden Dawn or other similar organizations. Maybe others can provide evidence to the contrary. Tarot is clearly an obvious extension of Jung's work and I embrace the postulate that Tarot is a complete basis set (a mathematical term from linear algebra) for the entire human archetypal universe.

Your descriptions of some of the tarot cards were spot on. But, “the Magician,” not so much. What is it about card number 1 that indicates mischief, or as you put it, the trickster?
Irrespective of my complaint, I would be interested in hearing an entire episode on the meanings of the individual cards!! Thanks for your great work!

For the most part, I’ve never really been able to get tarot to “mesh” with most other mystical systems due to its strange number of cards. I much prefer astrology and Norse runes as they have piece numbers that work well with base 12 or base 6 number systems, as based on the 6 outer points of metatrons cube in sacred geometry.

Can’t but help think that Tarot has hieroglyphic provenance in Ancient Egypt. Think Fabre d’Olivet derived Hebrew from the same mystical stock (taking the vessels from Egypt? - Exodus) - while noting that it quickly degenerated as a language - but there is the correspondence of the 22 major cards and the 22 aleph-bet letters and these moreover an integument of germinal development of signs. Perhaps it is the case that an integral of cosmic signs - no doubt based on number - preceded both language (which to exist depends on signs?) and symbolic language which appears to reflect soul enmirement in earthy fecundities and making tracks therethrough.

Overall, a really good video with some good insights. However, your Jung references are way off. The 12 Jungian archetypes is a pop-psychological misappropriation of Jung’s ideas. Archetypes are not personality traits. Jung “and his followers” did not explore tarot in the way you have said. Jung himself said very little about Tarot and he certainly did not use the cards. The most we can find in his writings are in the Visions Seminars, and out of 1200 pages, only two paragraphs say anything Tarot. To say, “Jung himself engaged deeply with Tarot symbolism,” is totally misleading. He engaged in archetypal symbolism, but you made it sound like he worked with Tarot, which he did not. He used the I-Ching. The High Priestess as the anima works for a man’s psyche, but not as “the Goddess,” per se. In a woman, the High Priestess would be more of a Kore figure, an aspect of the Self. Saying that Jung used Tarot to develop his theory of individuation is not true, and again, quite misleading. The author of the book you use for equating Jung’s ideas with Tarot has said such things, but not Jung himself.
Self-actualization was Maslow’s theory, not Jung’s. Jung did not say, “I am not what happened to me, I am what I choose to become…” That is an unsourced quote from Quote Fancy and other such sites. It’s unsourced because he never said that. It’s way to sentimental for Jung.

This brought back memories of bygone days and what I once was, and who's influences were the deck of cards I STILL have tucked away in a metal box with my "on stage with Metallica , snake pit" cloth sticker I won to the 1991-92 tour and concert ticket stub. Neither are something I partake of these days and I kind of miss both. (concerts more as music was my first love of the 2 the other being the occultist things like astrology, astrology not so much . It's precise birthplace is pre histroric Egypt. The Tarot was given to mankind by the Ra collective. It had 21 Major arcana plus the void. 22 cards. The numbers and suits were added by the Chaldeans and Sumarians. The Tarot was never intended for fortune telling, always being for the study of archeotypes. It is black magic to use the Tarot for fortune telling. It's why the church banned it.

Discipline is needed for critical thinking...not adding more to "sophist's talk" about the intrugue and lies YOU draw parallels to. You are better off watching the Wizard of Oz and playing pink floyd's album backwards to draw the best parallel to Jung and/or any theory.
