Pajero Traction Control Mod with DPDT switch

Simple mod using DPDT switch. It's for Pajero IV - if something looks different in your car - don't try it - you can damage the ECU.
This video is for education purpose - all mods in your car are under your responsibility only.
In some cars there can be green/white cable instead of the yellow one.

Probably the best video going around on this mod. I have seen other try and implement it incorrectly so the R/D lock dash light flashes at them. I don't think you explained it, but might be worth mentioning how it works i.e. to turn off ASTC it connects pin 78 (grey) to ground (switch pins 4 and 2) fooling the ASTC ECU into thinking the diff lock is engaged (physical position feedback switch in the rear diff) and pin 85 (LHD=yellow, RHD=green/yellow) controls the R/D lock light on the dash by opening it with the DPDT in centre off and acting normal in either other position hence the bridge between switch pins 1 and 5. You also didn't mention for it to work, the switch needs to be a DPDT centre off (on/off/on), not just a DPDT (on/off). The ASTC ECU will take feedback from either the diff lock switch OR the dash light to signal it to disable ASTC. Again, good video, cheers.

Can you explain to me why you cut the yellow wire if you bridge both switch terminals at the switch? Essentially you could have just left that wire alone?

Hi, i saw that you have a R/D Lock stock on your Pajero. I have a Pajero IV 3.2 HPE 5 doors (year 2008), is it the same procedure? 'cause i don't have a r/d lock

Basically the 2008 models have the same installation, at the same time if you have no stock r/d lock, it's mostly useless for you. If yo want just to disable the TC sometimes, you need simpler mods, like here: ua-cam.com/video/tFbqEDFwa-Q/v-deo.html&ab_channel=FrancoisBeukes
