I feel like Liam and Matt will handle this in a similar way to how Taliesin and Matt handled the end of C2. It has to feel earned in order to be effective, and Taliesin went the extra mile to keep it bittersweet by making Kingsly an almost wholey new individual, without Molly's memories. Vax wasn't born a celestial, he is technically dead, so without the Matron's divine power, he might not be able to remain as he is. He's also a shell of his former self, years in the matron's service that for him as felt like centuries (I believe Liam has mentioned at some point) has left him hollow with just what's left of his connections to Keyleth and Vex remaining. Now Matt could throw them a bone and allow for a true resurrection to bring Vax back, maybe as a final gift from the Matron, and which will probably require a very high role. In any case, whatever happens, it ain't gonna be simple.
@@dntm123 I think this implies the gods power goes away for a time if they are made mortal only time will tell if that happens I don’t think anything pointed in that direction in downfall people still had gifts from the gods that worked
This brings up another interesting question that I had to grapple with when it came to my own PC who worshipped the Judge Kelemvor and died for an extended period. Are they even the same person anymore? In D&D lore, you change fundamentally when you spend time in the Outer Planes after dying. I don't know that I'm rooting for a happy ending for Vax.
I think that members of all three campaigns may end up taking on some of the gods' essences. Is the funnel back pack still intact? A few minutes of willful power transfusion could lead to a new semi-mortal pantheon. Maybe it doesn;t even require that and they just let their power go into all mortals where it will seep into those susceptible. Some just make sense like Vax and Laudna picking up the Raven Queen's kit. Pike would of course become a bearer of the Everlight. Orym and Caduceus becoming vessels for the Earthmother.

Idk if their offspring would be an Asimar, but if so I would LOVE a buddy cop style adventure with them and Gwyn… (90s action movie announcer voice:) “One is an Asimar. The other, a Teifling. Honestly I don’t see Keylith staying with Vax. He chose the Raven Queen, and that had to hurt. I used to want them together, but now I want her to move on and find someone who chooses her.
I mean this time. Even on 4 sided dive, Liam admitted Vex is choosing RQ. And after all the time that has passed, and the fact that he would visit her and not let her move on. This soured my thoughts on their relationship.
@ yea that’s true he definitely should’ve let her go but she also doesn’t seem to want to let him go the entire time they were fighting for him she had hoped they’d get something out of it together It is kinda toxic though…
Vax and Keyleth have a baby and that baby is the reincarnation of the Raven Queen. Now that would be a crazy story beat!
What if the Raven Queen reincarnates through Vax and Keyleth? Living as their daughter?
@@marty2129 oh my god that would be both really cool and terrible as keylith mildly hates her

That would be a horribly cruel thing to do to Keyleth
That's what I thought. There is precident via downfall. A very easy fix for the godess of death and mat and vax n kielith. ❤
