New beekeeper in NKY as well, thanks for the info, I think I may have the same issue, had one hive over winter, and we were feeding it, and I think we have done too good of job, think I caught it before it swarmed, and managed to get a honey super on it.
Hello neighbor 🙂 Yes, keep an eye on it still. Mine packed 70-80 pounds in under a week. This rain will slow them down, but it may start again if the rain stops. Good luck with your bees 🐝
We are getting heavy nectar to and a couple of my hives are getting in rough shape as well. Are you not running the "Fakeamaye?" I finally put some bees in mine and that is one of the ones that is busting with nectar. Going to try to do some work on them this weekend, good luck buddy.
Hey there, yes I am using the fakemaye this year again I had bees overwinter in it, but I moved them into a long hive this spring and added a package in that one. Mine also was huge last year and produced lots of honey.
@@NKYHoneyBees I put some Buckfast and into my HiveIQ last week, and they seem to love it. I do wish they get the top feeder done. Have a good one buddy and good luck this season, looks like you have the honey covered. This flow is crazy this year.
Busy busy. I'm hoping to get into mine tomorrow to add supers. The last 5 or 6 days have been busy, so I hope mine are not honey bound. This year is something.
Looking at a brood pattern Its look like you have terrible queen and bees trying to superseding her or bees suffer from bad mite infections hive not strong at all very few bees my friend, and heavy honey flow brings swarming down all the time, light flow with lots of pollen and hive pack with cap brood that conditions for them to swarm, but soon is heavy nectar flow begins swarming drop to a minimum most of the time bees will destroy cells themselves and switch to work. You definitely need to replace that queen asp her brood pattern is terrible.
Thank you. I was planning on requeenining them all this summer. I was waiting for the flow to pass so I can requeen. We have another couple of weeks to go. Flow was too heavy for 10 days or so. I will requeen all of them after the flow. Thanks.

No, I had honey in there. It was more than enough.
