    Had a go on the practice area and I couldn’t believe it wow it worked, played on the course today things weren’t working out so I thought give it a try and again wow it was windy , I started to draw the ball and hold a straight line I hit some fabulous longer shots and I actually eagled a par 5 for the first time, on the green in two 😊 if you suffer from a slice give it a go you won’t be disappointed

      @@fitzygolfpro Hi Brian. I tried this at the range and it was great thanks. I moved my feet progressively as you did but went back a stage if I started to fade/slice the ball. After a while I managed a nice draw or at least a straight shot most of the time. Thanks again.

    As usual Brian, another great video on drills to promote an in to out swing path. Although my normal club path is in to out, I have used your recommended drill over the years. I have also used the frisbee toss drill. For those golfers who have had an out to in swing, I highly recommend Brian's suggestive drill! It does work! Well Done Brian! Keep Up the Good Work!

I don't care what it looks like, I love the results so much I'll keep using it. I like your suggestion to gradually trying to move back to a square stance and that's my goal. Thank you sir. I have been using the 7 o clock to 1 o clock. I’ve fought a hook my entire life. It has improved my swing but I still get the odd slice. Today I tried the drill on the range before my round. Wow! I I decided to take it to the course. Yes it looks funny in your set up - chest facing rear - but results weren’t. I only did the turn halfway back. Great draws today. I shot 84 on a difficult golf course - greens undulating and were 12.5 on stimp - club championship this weekend. I just need to work on nuances for set up. But first time I’ve done it so,practicing will help. Thanks again sir - I spent a few dollars on lessons - why didn’t they just give me this.

    An over-the-top swing can create 3 different shot shapes, depending on the relationship of the club face to the path: a pull slice if the face is open, a straight pull with a straight face, or a pull hook with a closed face. I tend to swing over the top if I yank the club too quickly to the inside. The club then continues in a loop to the outside to inside swing. A slight pause at the top allows me to start down on the proper, inside path.

    I have played a lot of squash in my younger days and have a tendency to have an over active right hand (Rh player) resulting in a hook or pull

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  4 місяці тому

      I have rarely seen that. Your hook and pull is probably not caused by an overactive right hand but more likely a very strong grip and/or an open shoulder alignment at address.

  • @franks4973
    @franks4973 4 місяці тому +1

    I have found an easy solution , if you slice but other mechanics are fine, then move your start ball position. Stand further away from the ball so you line up on the end of club. This promotes an inside out swing path since you have to reach for the ball.
    If you hook move ball closer to hossel to promote a neutral swing.

  • @robertbrandywine

    I think the inside out swing is caused by a faulty conception of the shoulders. When I was doing it I had an image that the club swung vertically backwards and forward. Imagine your body laid horizontally in the air and the swing you would make by turning the shoulders. Trying to make that vertical swing will cause the inside out swing when you take a normal stance.

    • @fitzygolfpro
      @fitzygolfpro  5 місяців тому

      The inside out swing has a lot to do with the shoulders,

    As soon as you stand square the bodies natural backswing will often start going away from the body creating the out to in. Just move your right foot back a bit from square and you’ll notice the change in natural body turn starting more easily on an in to out swing plane.
