Slightly modified version of the Strike One/Archon. "Cooling" seems to me to be a pretty far fetched benefit, but what do I know? PTR is bringing Archon production to the US in 2025 and is currently importing the Archon Gen 1 B and Gen 2 B. Also offering them with optics cuts for RMR, RMS and Acro, and Threaded bbl options. Interestingly, they already have a 15 rd only option for Illinois too.
i have shoot in idpa and ipsc here in Italy and i both knows Indizio and Passalia ... I Saw them in action .. the Rapax i think it is an improved version of the Arsenal Firearm Strike One .. i have used it and the pistol shoot nicely.. the Rapax drawback i think it will be the higher price ..

@@LWRoad it is a very flat shooter and they like (rapax and arsenal strike one) mostly hi power factor (140-150 PF) ammo and fmj bullets .. they will shoot well and good as long as you clean them well but do not trick them or the special trigger mechanism or cam ... even polishing it will lead to high tolerances between the sear causing mini burst..

Looks like another iteration of the Arsenal/Archon pistols only in an alloy frame with some different barrel tech. I mean it is fine that the architect of this firearm has now offered the same basic frame design with some internal differences under three different company and model names; the question is why? Why three different companies utilizing the same basic frame and slide aesthetic under a different moniker?

it's like saying that the Steyr M1912 / Beretta PX4 rotating barrel is another iteration of the Browning tilting barrel design.
What the Arsenal/Archon and the Rapax have in common is that the locking/unlocking is demanded to a thing that's not directly the barrel (like in the Walther / Beretta tilting block for that matter).
In the Arsenal is a rising block, that makes it a variation of the Bergmann-Bayard system.
In the Rapax is a rotating block, that makes it a variation of the Breda 30 System.

The concept sounds similar but it must differ significantly to have its own patent. Smarter minds than me need to weigh in. Merry Christmas!
While the Storm's entire barrel rotates, only the locking piece rotates in the Rapax. The Rapax's barrel merely reciprocates aft and fore during cycling. One side benefit will be for the attachment of muzzle devices on extended, threaded barrels. Sound suppressors in particular are prone to unthreading on rotating barrels.

@@InvidiousIgnoramus No, the M&P uses a gas system, where the barrel is the piston, and it rotates.
The closest to the Rapax is the Breda 30 system, where the bolt locks into a sleeve attached to the barrel but, instead of rotating the bolt, it's the sleeve that rotates, locking and unlocking the bolt.
In the Rapax is that "C" shaped half-sleeve that you see at 2:10 that links the barrel to the slide. As the barrel and the half-sleeve move rearward, the half-sleeve rotates, and disconnects the barrel from the slide.

i dont think cooling system for pistol is relevant, its not a submachine gun, and not full auto capable, making gun with new design like this isnt necessary, plus no optic cut in 2024, meh, but hey thanks for sharing this information
It may matter in a competition context and may increase longevity of the barrel.
The gas operated Alien and similar gas delayed systems (H&K P7) get hot after 2-3 mags. If this system can force heated air out it may have some benefits and may allow him to use different materials too. It is too early to say without more details.
Hopefully it comes this next year we shall see
Ok it’s yet another iteration of the Strike One. A pistol that has been expensive, unreliable, and not very well made
