- In this video we complete our Senton 6s build with the bash test and review. AJ takes this machine out many times to get a feel for the ups and downs of this 6s platform SCT. Having spent the time and money to build this no longer available machine, he wants to know for sure if the effort is worth it. At the end you'll get our four questions answered and find out if this modified machine makes it into our top ten for the channel. The only draw back about your review on this truck is that it is not available anymore like you said and would have to search one out to buy used . This truck has a cult following crowd , I still have one brand new one and one maybe used 3 times on pavement, and therefore did want to use them so decided to build a new one .
My alternative to wanting another one to be able to use and abuse was to buy a new TLR Typhon and the Senton 6s parts to convert it . It came out awesome , the look of a SCT with handling of a buggy !!! The wider stance of the Typhon arms / sway bars / suspension all wrapped up into a SCT !!

Awesome running footage! I have a Senton 6S V3 and it's one of my favorite trucks. Got it as a 2nd hand unit for only 300 USD but in good condition. I'd say it's way better than the 3S version because one can gear it up to hit up to 70+ MPH without destroying the drivetrain. The lexan body is quite thick and very sturdy as well.

I found a new old stock sealed in the box off ebay for $650+S&T. I'll be unboxing over the coming days/weeks. I'd heard it was the same as the 3S, but bigger motors. Ha! This is a totally different beast!
Watching what you've done here and comparing to what I've initially pulled out of the box, I now have no doubt the seller's story was true: that he is a hobby shop clearing a disused back room of some old stock he couldn't move or had forgotten about. He had four, I got the last. Each sold for the same. I'm even more psyched now for having found it after seeing your vids. Great timing! Thanks!
my 6s senton came with the arrma blx 185 esc ! i belive its a bit more spicy than the spektrum... just FYI ! keep up the awesome reviews....

I think it was claimed too dangerous and discontinued. 1/10th scale with 6s power. Sounds crazy and is crazy. I sure wish I had got one though. Unfortunately, Arrma, didn't want the liability. It was the lawn dart of it's time.
There was a brand new V3 for sale on eBay a couple days ago for $475 including shipping…. I almost pulled the trigger but it ended up being sold after a few hours

Weighing now... OOB, without battery or the plastic truck shell, 7lbs, 11.45oz. call the shell an oz or 2 and you're still under 8lbs easy. I had read/heard it was stock 9lbs, so am surprised!
Ours weighs in at just over 9Lbs. But keep in mind, ours has been beefed up internally and that added weight comes from the upgrades. I wish it weighed less, but it bashes so much better than the lighter SCTs. I think the added weight is an advantage when slamming and bashing in nature.
My other RC is a Senton 3S and upgrading that to 6S motorESC cost almost as much as the 6S did. PLUS the 6S is metal everywhere, so actually a deal/steal at the shy $750 I ultimately paid with $50 shipping +tax! And all I'm going to do with it is likely something the RC community might find horrific. lolz. Search senton hack on my channel for details. The 6S is coming up next in that playlist. ;)
After hearing you speak about the historical rarity, I'm almost sad to mod it! :) Also, I need to buy the more rare spare parts apparently or come up with alternative. I had hoped parts would be somewhat swappable with the 3S, or at least some/all the others in 6S line.
Some parts will interchange, but the arms are longer on the Typhon, not by much, but enough that you will probably need drive shafts to swap them out. Most of the actual running gear is the same, motor, ESC, diffs, etc... I've built a Senton 6s based on a Typhon 6s and it handled awesome, and I think better than the original Senton 6s. So there's still hope the 6s SCT will stick around for a while to come. But if you have an original one...wow, hang onto it. 😎👍
@@AJJAMStudios I just commented in your tire video that it's a M.I.B. specimen, back-room shop cleaning kind of find from what the seller told me. It's too beautiful for what I need it for. Total virgin. Sealed baggies, cling-wrap shell, now some finger oils on the metal plates, full manual, et al. Video to post in the next day or two.
I couldn't have known without buying it, but I now see that upgrading a second 3s to the 6s motor/ESC is the better path for me than modding a 6S for makita batteries -especially modifying such an historical rarity, if not nearly unique item at this point. How many can be in pristine factory condition still? This one and maybe one other, somewhere hidden away. I'm not a collector or RC guy, so this 6S is not for me to hold on to for any amount of time, much less use I think.
I'm glad to hear you're not going to dissect it for a project, it is a rare vehicle now. Finding one, even a used one, is getting harder and harder to do. Best of luck on your build. AJ
@@AJJAMStudios Knowing now what I have in my hands, I totally respect and admire the historical value of the thing. Hopefully this Mint in box with sealed baggies specimen can find a new home. I guess it goes back to ebay sometime soon. My only concern is covering what I paid for it so my wife isn't miffed about the whole situation. With the proceeds, I then buy a second 3S and upgrade that to the specs I need. The 6S is just too different for parts calls from the 3S; I need modularity above all else.

You need to work on the way you shoot running footage. Too much stuff in the background, people, real cars, your shadow. And more closeups of the cars while you talk, please. That’s what we want to look at, not you. Lol Although you very pleasant to look at. Fix that and you’re the best bar none.
