This may have already been asked but - I can only get the clip player to work in 32 bit version of Ableton and not in the 64 bit. Does it only work in the 32 bit version? Freakin awesome software though - love it!!!
@@yashasv.doodles I don't work anymore with this... I used videos to sync with lyrics, but is to much effort for that... Also i don't recommend to use it... If you want you can use the arrangement view to go with video, or external program like Resolume that you can sync video with LTC. If you want something pratical to go with lyrics, I use Proclaim, is super easy to use the program and you can sync with ableton with MIDI.
I'm new to VIZZable but have been trying to figure out how to do this for a while. This is exactly what I was looking for. However, it is not working with my Live 10.1.9 running on Catalina (10.15.4). I never used this on an earlier version of Live, nor on a previous OS. I feel like I've followed the instructions to the letter. But no matter what, I cannot get the viewer, or the clipPlayr to "see" any .mov files--though the audio loads fine. Before I bang my head against the wall anymore, is this supposed to work with this set-up? If not, is an update in the works, or somewhere else anyone could point me? TIA /ASH
I am, however, finding that the FX works to process live video (Critter & Guitari ETC) I am bringing in via a Blackmagic Intensity Shuttle, which is very promising. But the syphonOut plug does not seem to work. So there is no way to record the output. I can route the processed video signal to the syphonOut plug, but when I open Syphon, VIZZable2 does not show up as an available input (as, say, Synesthesia would). I was hoping maybe QuickTime might see it as an input, but no dice there either.
1. How does output work in Windows? Is there a good way to send the video to another monitor on Windows? 2. How much does this hit the CPU? When I try to play video natively in Ableton it runs at a VERY low frame rate on 4GB of ram, and I get some huge CPU spikes.

Yep. I had to make the hard decision to move over to 64 because of working with some colossal memory-hogging projects. I would prefer to be running 32 to keep some of my old VSTs etc, but 4 Gigs of RAM just isn't enough for what I need. Ableton warns against concurrent installations, but I am keen to give it a go.
Thanks for all your work with Vizzable! Any other options available for exporting out a video/edit from Ableton? I am using ableton 10, and vizzable 2.1 (i think) and it works great I have tried Syphon Recorder versions 15, 18 and 19 and whenever I open the app the Syphon window is just the checkerboard and I can't select any inputs/vizzable and can't record the viewer! Major bummer after getting some cool clips together! Any help is appreciated!
Hey, I replied via email but will post my reply here for completeness: It has been a while and I currently don't have access to a mac to test - but I believe the reason is I did not include the syphon external in the release due to a bug at the time. The fix *might* be: * In ableton, click the edit button on the syphon out module * make sure the device is unfrozen (snowflake icon down the bottom) * install the syphon package (file -> show packages) * save and close the device. Restart ableton to be sure, and test.

For any other noobs (such as myself) reading this, just to clarify, you gotta have Syphon installed as its own program on your Mac, and then also go into the Max patch and make sure the Syphon package is installed IN MAX as well. Yo Bob, couple of questions, all of my video clips have a blue cast, basically all the colors have turned to shades of blue - any ideas what might have caused this - I've updated everything, Ableton, Max4Live, my entire operating system (Yosemite) to no avail... - and secondly can i make video clips in Clip Slots Loop if they don't have audio? This is great, I think exactly what I've been looking for. Is is possible to create a Simpler with the imported clip and edit the video within Ableton like you would with audio instead of chopping up clips beforehand?
from memory, you can play with the loop points in a clipslot using the clipplayr. It's been some time since I last tested so my memory could be incorrect. It would be possible to create a M4L to do exactly what you describe with some moderate amount of effort.
I'm using Ableton from many years now, but I had the standard version, no Max for Live, I found out about this function way way to late. I have been playing with ViZZable with a demo version of Live Suit that has Max for Live. I have been doing the tutorials, and I'm already a fan of it. I had an Issue with the syphon recorder, it doesn't seem to be recognizing any source, it is actually grayed out, I wonder if someone else here has experience the same issue, or if this is happening because I am using a trial version?
Are we able to hear the audio from the video clip too? And, trigger it like clips in drum racks? There's a Max For Live instrument called 'video racks' that does this, but VIZZable has far more useful features... any pointers towards triggering video clips and hearing the audio I'd be very appreciative. If you pop open the viewr module in edit mode, you can change the rate of the qmetro object to effect the global vizzable framerate. However, I would advise against it. If you really want to run 60fps video, running that inside Ableton is likely to perform poorly. If framerate and performance are of importance you are much better off running video in a separate application (resolume, vdmx, Max standalone etc.) and communicating between applications via MIDI or OSC.
This is an awesome package. Everything is working really smooth on live 9 and windows8 and windows 7. Looking forward to making something that I can show you to make you happy! Just wondering about what kind of alternatives to Syphon there might be for windows users? Any idea?
make sure your OS is set to extend your display, not mirror. Then drag the viewr window onto the second monitor/projector and hit full screen in the viewr module . You can then click "previewr" on the viewr module which will give you a little preview window you can place on top of your ableton set to monitor what's being sent out to the projector.

nope - when using the clip playr, the audio is the audio straight from the video file. You launch them like you normally launch clip slots. You can also use the rackplayr device to use separate video and audio clips and launch them with midi like you describe.
You may won't believe me...but it started working after i wrote to you! :D I only need to understand how to start/stop the loaded video (since as i push a note on my controller it just restarts it =P )

Please help...I've been trying to get this to work for so long. When I drag videos into an audio track in windows 10 says "videos can only be displayed by video clips in the arrangement view. Video clips in the Session View are treated like audio clips". Fine, so I click 'ok'. When I then drag the clipPlayr(audio).amxd and try to play the clips, only audio comes through. No video in the clipPlayr. Can you shed any light on this? I'd REALLY like to get this working...
Yes, you can safely ignore that warning. Make sure you're using quicktime video (*mov, preferably using photojpeg codec), and that you have quicktime installed if you are on windows. Make sure Live and Max are up to date. If you are running 64 bit, switching to 32bit might help.
Oh that would be very helpful, my camera works and I finally record using synphon but the other videos using the video clip player are not working, I just hear a few seconds of the audio clip but the little window remains black, sometimes I see a little glitch. I have tried all sorts of formatting. I wonder if there is updated documentation on this issue.

From memory, the clips a forced to warp to enable the video/audio sync correctly. I'm not sure why the clips are launching inconsistently but this is most likely a video codec or video hardware issue. Try encoding the videos as quicktime, photoJpeg at 79% quality, and reduce the res until you get acceptable performance.
actually i'm trying anything and it does not play any sound from any source. I'm using a .mov file. The video work fine. If i put a vst instrument over i can hear the vst but nothing from the video =(
Hey, again! So I've got all of the stuff set up to try now, but I can't figure out how to trigger video clips in the rackplayr (MIDI Track) with my Akai MPD32. Could you verify if I have the steps right or walk me through? Here's what I am doing: - plug in rackplayr to a MIDI track - plug in viewer - drag .mp4 video clips onto the rackplayr squares/notes (e.g. C-1, C#-1, etc.) - toggle the MPD32 MIDI Track sync to "on" in the Ableton Preferences Then I try to launch and juggle video clips but the rackplayr doesn't see my MPD :( Could you help? you might need to either record arm the midi track or set monitor to in. you should be seeing midi being passed through the chain (yellow level meters between devices)
if you're on windows make sure you have quicktime installed. make sure your movies are quicktime (*.mov) and use the photojpeg codec (i usually go about 85% to 95% quality although there's a big performance leap at 75% and below.

cliveconcept did you try the things i suggested? ie checking/re-encoding videos, making sure quicktime is installed. Also make sure max and live are the latest versions. I'll be releasing more tutes in the near future including one about how to properly encode vids.
I'm getting no video from the preview windows. Generators like midibar work, with fx as well but there's no video from videoclips, even if the clipplayr says it's playing a clipfile and the viewer is wired to the clipplayr :(

I did. I even re-exported it through Albeton using the codec you suggested. any idea why it won't work?

I realize that my video in the viewer window is 30fps. However my video files are actually 60fps. How could I set my viewer to 60fps? Thanks

Syphon does not record audio in this configuration? Even though it displays this capability in its preferences. Is this correct?
You can use soundflower to route audio into syphon recorder.

unfortunately is still black ableton 32 max 32 vizzable 2.1. also cannot import vid in the clip player :(
