Important for polishing PPF is to go very light pressure on the lowest speed setting. Did my M4 (PPF on the whole front and roof) and the 8 year old car shines better than new. 👍
The Milwaukee is a powerhouse! I really like how it turned out, definitely a boost in gloss and I couldn't see any imperfections. Once its fully polished and coated that should take care of it. I think it looks beautiful, and I hope you enjoy driving it! I hope you and your family had a merry Christmas and a happy new year! Can't wait til the next one!
interesting video, I just polished a camry trd with ppf on the high impact areas. first time polishing ppf for me so I used gyeon ppf polish. interesting to see these results
I'm not certain if you can use optimum clear coat restore. But like Matt said he doesn't really need the properties of that ppf. And the coating will give those
I have done some trial-and-error experimental correction on Toyota's PPF. Not sure if it's a dealer install or factory. Tarminator works at removing the road funk. But you've got to put something back on the ppf to add moisture. Polishing sorta works but looks not as well the next day once the oils from the polish have dried. Hit it with the dry ice since its your car and not mine (yet). For educational purposes only. I know of an auto photographer that puts baby oil on dull ppf. He swears by it. Wipe on, wipe off.
@@jaxbrewery say, did you try the rupes white or another finishing pad, or the yellow worked well ?? have the gyeon ppf polish here getting ready to use. thanks
@@JoelSc14I used it with the yellow pad and it worked great. Be sure to keep the speed low. Too high a speed and it’ll haze. But easy enough to fix if you haze, just drop the speed and go over it again. Good luck!
I've heard some suggest a double layer of PPF on the nose (bumper and hood) to keep any chance of the clear coat getting nicked, what are your thoughts?
Timing is great for this video. What are you going to coat it with. My car is getting full xpel in a week and I was going to apply Halo from your store but you said it didn’t work great with xpel. Carpro skin? Maybe try some of the new gyeon stuff? Dying to know
GT3 RS shouldn't have an enamel badge. It should be a sticker. Something isn't right. Should also have a carbon fibre bonnet and that bonnet was flexing too much for that with the pressure that was being applied........
I hate PPF. Just doesn’t look as good as nicely polished paint. I peeled my Porsche Caymans PPF off it was tired and coated it instead. It took a month to get the front bumper cover PPF off in pieces , totally nightmare. Took off patches of clear coat too. Lea red how to paint base and clear it not difficult using Rattle cans and 2k clear ow it looks brand new. I would never intentionally PPF a car.
Since the condition of the paint and PPF is not OG spec perfect, why not think about painting the whole damn thing? Imagine doing a deep dive into stripping the paint, prep of the metal, then the painting process. A video series of the whole process. And I don't mean paint it the same color, pick a color from Porsche's Paint to Sample catalog and go! Who cares what color it ends up being. It's Your car!

I would argue you can lay into if needed, but PPF is so soft that it is unnecessary. It corrects pretty easily.

Looking forward to seeing that polishing. Never seen video on polishing PPF.
I'm curious how much of the self-healing properties has been impaired
(
I would wager all of it

I would’ve used Geyon PPF with a finishing pad in place of a yellow pad and PF

Matt, I will be doing the same to my F82 soon. I will be trying it with Gyeon PPF polish
Yes! Gyeon PPF specific polish worked well for me on a Rupes yellow pad and the speed at the minimal.

How much $$ bet Matt replaces the hood PPF?
We had decent luck with my old car using a MF cutting pad and Car Pro Essence on the PPF.
After i polish my ppl do i then need to IIPA wipe the car before applying ceramic coating for ppl
I wonder if wool would’ve been a better choice since it mitigates heat more and is pretty aggressive
I'm thinking of ppf wrapping my semi truck should I do it?

The only place I'd do that is on the lower rockers.
Excellent video
Wouldn't claying remove the stripe "etching" from PPF?
I don’t think clay would be aggressive enough to “cut”
Matt, what's your favorite Tribe called Quest song?
What do you think of llimar valor matt?
THANK YOU FOR TAKING CARE OF MY FUTURE CAR!!!!!!!!! THANK YOU!!!! LOVE IT!!!!!! ❤

I have black vinyl on the roof of my car. Can I use this process to polish and then seal?
Yep

This is a 997(2010-11) not a 991 (2016 or 2019).
First genuine view....lol

You be trippin
Repainting this thing would destroy the value, and is generally always nowhere near as good as factory paint.
I find it interesting when people don’t have a concept for money. Doing something like that would ruin the car and cost $20,000+ to do it.
