    Just made a 1500 mi round trip on 883 super low with 4 big baggers, kept up and fueled up with them, never fell behind, best bike I ever had, may upgrade later, but will never sell, nothing against the new sporter s , all things must evolve, but nothing as good as the original. Two wheels down.

    Found your page when I got my first Harley Davidson 2021 Sportster Iron 883 in January of 2021. Switched to the 2021 Street Bob 114 about 6 months later and now I just got a 2022 Road Glide ST. Absolutely loved each bike for different reasons but the Sportster will always have a special place in my heart being my first Harley. Think a lot of people took this same path. The Sportster just gave you the Harley look, feel, and definitely the sound at an affordable price. Don't know if I would be on a $35,000 + bike now if I couldn't have gotten that Sporty for $10,000.

    The Sportster lineup has not been canceled, the history of the Sportster lives on in the Nightster and Sportster S. Instead, it has just entered a new era. A new era that brings it back to its performance roots with the horsepower of the RevMax platform. In the 50's and 60's the Sportster was a high performance machine, and the Sportster S and Nightster pay homage to those days with their performance characteristics. One twist of the throttle in Sport mode will make you a believer.

    Enjoy the channel. Yes, lots of us will miss the air-cooled Evolution engine (883 & 1200) in the 2022 and older Sportsters, but to your point there are literally thousands and thousands of these around in people's garages and the used bike market. And aftermarket support for these is huge. These will no doubt be around for decades. Just not any more brand new ones after the 2022 model year.
    Brings up a related subject matter: Progress to meet ever tightening emissions standards, but with that comes more performance. Just take a minute to look at the performance of the new generation liquid cooled engine family (re: Sportster-S 1250cc & Nightster 975cc)...the Revolution Max. They are well performing machines.
    Which brings up the current engine (M8) in the Touring chassis since 2017 (& Softail since 2018). Seems logically that the Motor Co. is probably working on a larger displacement version of the liquid-cooled Revolution Max. I would imagine something in the 1500 to 1750 cc, with more stroke to boost low end torque for use in a heavier touring chassis. I would also imagine that the M8 will be around for at least a few more years, perhaps until 2027 or 2028??? I can picture a Road Glide with a 1750cc (possibly 2000cc) with nicely designed CVO style lower fairing/chin spoiler purposely designed to somewhat "hide" the radiator. What do you guys think?
    Tom M., Southwest U.S. '21RGS, RDRS, 114 now displacing 120 cu.in. M8 (4.125" bore x 4.500" stroke). S&S, Trask, Fuel Moto, Dynojet, etc., etc., etc.

Wanted something with a bigger gas tank and more power. Great video man, but like everything else there comes a time for change. Love the channel and keep up the great work.

    The Nightster is cool but a lot less "entry-level" friendly. The real sad thing is H-D doesn't have a "wallet friendly" air-cooled v-twin offering for a first motorcycle. I took the MSF BRC at my local Harley dealer and shortly after getting my license I bought a 2022 XL883N. Coming off of learning on a Street 500, the 883 felt really good, comfortable, light, easy handling, very manageable throttle, just a really fun and forgiving motorcycle for a noob like me who's heart's desire was a Harley-Davidson. Glad I got mine, it checks off all the boxes and I'm loving all the miles of smiles she gives to me. I'm waiting to see what special offerings H-D may have for the 120th Anniversary, something with a batwing is my next Harley, but the 883 will be buried with me, never toss the first bike, maybe hand it down but don't get rid of it.

    🎉This is because a lot has changed in recent years) yes, there are many fans of sportsters and yet) even novice bikers began to buy more street bob and motorcycles equal to it) in countries with low wages, many people ride sportsters just because for a larger motorcycle, which is already very different in price, they do not pull financially. I know sportsters will return) these legends will be with us forever! Greetings from Baku Azerbaijan🇦🇿

    Just bought a 22’ forty eight today, it was the last one the Harley dealership had. Definitely a weird and sad thing to know they aren’t going to make them anymore, like you said, I’m all for clean air, however, not a big fan of where the automobile industry is heading, if someone wants an electric vehicle, that’s great but we should also be able to own any kind of vehicle we want without the government telling us what’s acceptable. I plan on keeping this beauty forever though. It’ll be interesting to see what kind of value they have in 30-40 years, looking back and knowing I was able to buy one of the last ones they ever made is going to be a crazy feeling.

    It was just a matter of time.
    That already happened in the Rest of the World after 2020 MY.
    Tighter emission standards as you said and the Evo that’s been around since 1986, was too expensive to update.
    Of course, it made more sense for Harley to use the RevMax platform with it’s multiple displacement engines.

      I agree having owned a Sportster and now ride a Street Bob, same exact as a Standard but blacked out. I actually find the Softail easier and more balanced to ride. Not sure if the power difference would intimidate newer riders. I was experienced before either one, owning a lot of dual sports mostly KTM's that have light switch throttles.

    @michaelconran5252 2 роки тому

    Thinking and reading the comments, Harley "dropped" the Sportster late 80's and early 90's. The evolution never evolved in the Sportster. Look at the big twin. Evolution 1340. Then TC 88, 96, 103 and 110 with some tweaks along the way. Now M8 107, 114 and 117 with factory crate motor 131. Sportster was 883 end 1200, only real upgrade was fuel injection. If the Sportster would have evolved alongside the big twins, maybe the air cooled version could live alongside the water cooled ones. Imagine the same Sportster look with about 80-90ci engine, 6 speed tranny, dual plug heads and 4 valves per cylinder. Wouldn't replace my Softail with it, but be fun to have on the barn with all our other bikes.

    The Nightster is not a "starter" bike IMO. HD will need to come out with a sub 70HP bike under $8k for new and younger riders otherwise the company will not have a gateway for new customers to come into the brand. Sportster, as we know it, had its day in the sun and we all sort of knew that this day would come.

But would I choose one instead of my M8 Low Rider or Pan America - no! A such, doesn't really matter to or bother me that the Evo Sporster has gone. Life goes on and as I still have 2 bikes that I would ride over the Sporster, no sleep lost. I don't like the looks of the Sportster S and I wouldn't buy the Nightster given I alrady have the 2 Harleys of my choice. That said, the Coy needs an entry level model and the Nightster is good to have available for that entry level customer. Harley could also look at an entry level small Adventure bike similiar to the BMW 310GS as this may appeal to a stack of the younger folk as it would be more affordable and a more practical commuter.
