Raj is basically me in most social situations. It's a shame that he didn't end up with anyone by the end, unless you take that Sarah Michelle Gellar cameo at face value.
Because he was a spoiled brat.
He doesn't need to.
Alcohol does not survive the baking of rum cake, making that clip funnier.
Lol entirely placebo effect (happened to him once before)

@@quibblcrIf you told Raj a regular Iced Tea (mocktail) was actually a Long Island Iced tea with alcohol, he’d suddenly overcome his selective mutism even if there was no alcohol in it.
When Sheldon is given a loaded Long Island Iced Tea by Penny presented as non-alcoholic he imbibes anyway even though he has a psychological resistance to using alcohol and gets wasted at Wil Wheaton’s house anyway.
Influence of substance can be suggestive.
it could be the placebo effect, or he soaked the cake in strong rum after he baked it! i had the same thought too until I looked up if you could get drunk with rum cake!! apparently you can, it takes a lot though but knowing raj, he probably thinks he's buzzed after the first taste of alcohol (which could be the placebo effect)

There's one thing I never understood. Raj can never talk while in the presence of women yet, when he's having lunch in the university cafeteria, he's talking to Sheldon, Howard and Leonard even though there's women also in the cafeteria. 🤔
raj can't talk around women who he knows are listening to him, and attractive women! in one episode, penny leaves the room and raj starts talking to the other guys and immediately gets spooked when penny spoke up behind the door, because he knew penny heard him speak! he can speak in the cafeteria because no one around him can hear him but the guys at the table!
I remember one episode that he said that he cant speak to women who smell nice, which made penny feel complimented. (if i remember correctly)
