- Yes , this weapon is too good, it can destroy almost every boss in a few hits ,with no problems , and in my opininion it's one of the best looking , in the whole game , absolutely an insane weapon.

@@LeHibouMThe didnt. He used the blasphemous claw on his pouch. The item specifically is used to parry his blade of death while it glows gold.
Ah! the weapon that carried me through my first play through. 10/10 damage 10/10 satisfying to use. Also, this is the only weapon personally given to us in the game so it has a spacial place in my heart.
I’m pretty sure the annoying knight guy in limgrave gives you a dagger when you clear out his fort and you also get a sword from the lady in volcano manor

@@AIC_7please elaborate. I killed Elden Beast with six lions claw and a critical hit, but it takes a lot to figure out t the right combo. Now looking for a better way to gank Elden beast again.
I used the iron balls in Radagon and Elden beast.
I have this weapon at plus 10 too, didnt realize it had so much more potential, awesome video! I like this format where there is no fluff and you just show the setup with no lame jokes.

ive never used a sword in this game until my last playthrough and it was the flamberge. Daggers, whips and fist weapons with the odd incantation only and I'm currently on ng+8. looks like a fun setup though

If you really want to tierlist them itd be Fire > Magic >>>> Lightning >>>>>>> Holy.
I'll not count Physical since its the clear winner and not really a damage type with the same rules. For example the highest resistance to physical is 35% while the highest resistance to other damage types is total immunity.. so Physical + Pierce is the best but thats not the point.
Since i'm not rude and i care about sharing i'll explain, hope you're ready to read and learn :)
- Fire as the antithesis of the Lands Between is not resisted by a lot of enemies, in fact a lot are weak to it like beasts, plants or rot-like things. And in a game where beastmans and spirit trees are common, its a good thing to have. The only 2 bosses resistant to it are Mohg and Fire Giant which have 80% reduction; but most other bosses only are neutral or even weak to it. Besides that its the most buffable element in the game thanks to Flame Grant me Strength, best buff after Golden Vow that makes Fire the best damage type able to reach high AR.
- Magic is not common in a game where Demi-gods and holy things are basic stuffs. In fact almost only Liurnia has Magic resistant enemies and the whole game is neutral to it. For bosses only Rennala/Wolf of Radagon and Astel are resistant to it, the rest is mostly neutral which is incredibly good since you'll always deal 100% of your AR. Its also the 2nd most buffable damage type thanks to Terra Magica, but since it requires the player to stay in the little circle its not as simple to use, so for me its the 2nd best type.
- Lightning is a bit weird since either enemies are really resistant to it, either they are weak to it.. making it pretty unreliable. Its strong against metal things like humans in armor but its bad against everything not metallic like Imps, skelletons, dragons.. so you'd want to change weapon every 5seconds if min-maxing is your thing. It also doesn't have any buff like the 2 others before so it can't reach the same AR. For those reasons its mid.
- And finally Holy.. where to start ? Resisted by absolutely everything in the game but dead things like Death Birds and Skelletons. I suggest you to check fextralife "Holy Damage" page (even if they don't have the best informations). Its resisted by more than half of the bosses and major bosses, with a lot of them having insanely high damage reduction so when you get to Leyndell : all major bosses from this point reduce holy damage by 80%. Fun is it ? Only Fire giant reduces it by 20%.. but the "Big 3" as i like to call it (Maliketh, Godfrey, Radabeast) have 80% damage reduc making this damage type a nightmare. It also doesn't have any buff like lightning so can't reach high AR and the gimmick about Holy damage preventing "those who live in death" to resurect isnt even a thing and is a separate "holy thing", making holy damage even worse.
So yeah, for all these reasons its the worst damage type and its not even close. But hey, it can kill any Death Rite Birds in 3 hits so.. i guess its the best damage type as you said :)

I used this on my first play through. I did not use any buff. I did not even use those armour set but still I whopped bosses ass. That damage is no joke on that sword

great video as usual, im not sure why he is running 40 str here tho instead of just taking more faith and getting access to the buffs, as the additional str only gives it 33 more damage than the minimum str req according to my stats page, is there something i am missing on the maths here? does it affect the aow somehow
Wait please tell me terra magica stacks with the shield damage buff i know they're both considered unique and you can only have one type of buff active at a time but one is magic and the other is overall damage is surly it stacks right?
It does stack with the shield, since It buffs Magic damage too

I'm assuming all damage/status effects are going to be heavily nerfed in the DLC area, until the appropriate DLC upgrades are attained. I have every weapon in the game x2, so I can powerstance all weapons, and every armor/item as well, but I'm not expecting to be overpowered in the DLC area at all, given what Miyazaki has already eluded to. I guess we'll have to see how everything goes once the DLC is finally launched.
So I have done multiple Elden Ring playthroughs, and used some of the strongest weapons in the game. I have NEVER had an easier run than when I used the Darkmoon Greatsword, it's literaly Elden Ring in easy mode 😎, poor Mohg never made it to his second phase.
I've been trying to do this, but I locked myself from getting the Magic Scorpion Charm. Is there another item I can use in its place?
Needed to come back here: Im doing a 100% run atm to have every item for the DLC and so on and I was struggling so hard with Malenia yesterday had to use my summon to rek her :( Fuck that Water Fowl Dance. Also the way you fight her is insanely skilled damn man :D

U know that mask raises arcane which does not scale with frost and nearly gives magic attack, u would do more damage if u had the spell blade hat on and if u uses terra magical with rannis dark full moon so u boost it damage more and decrease their magic defence while giving them frost bite, u can be more powerful, u just choose not to be
Remember folks: a weapon is only as good as the player who wields it. You will still suck even with the sword. Just managing expectations.

At this point the dlc would be actually impossible
You can give the potion he wants you to give to Nepheli to Gideon instead and he won’t realise, that’s how I usually do his quest. You can get the talisman without giving the other potion to Ranni too if you get the finger slayer blade for ranni just after giving him the amber starlight shard I think

How do you use the sword's ability while having the shield also equiped?
sword ability buffs it so that you can just hold heavy attack to shoot a projectile, so you can buff with sword, then 1 hand the sword so you can buff with shield

NO it will not!! From soft knows what's OP in base game and most DlC enemies will be strong against elements....especially cold.
