Thanks for the video. I watch for the views of different places. Never get tired of the country side Reviews are a dime a dozen, don't need to see more.
Royal Enfield are making some very good bikes at a price that can't be matched and the mpg is fantastic. In these times of everything going up in price, people will be looking at buying a Royal Enfield and I can only see them going from strength to strength.
Saw the vid title and immediately reached for my general service respirator and a copy of the yellow pages for breakdown assistance but then saw Colin was on a brand new bike and breathed a sigh of relief with no sign of smoke fumes anywhere 😂😂😂 made a refreshing change 👍
Hi there Marcus and thanks for your message. My vintage vehicles are easily fixed if they " fail to proceed. " But my newest Royal Enfield 500 classic chrome efi had to be taken in the van to the dealership when it would not start recently due to no spark. It needed plug-in diagnostics to find out what went wrong. Regards Colin
"The electric revolution" I'm happy to of been born in 59 and enjoyed the 2 strokes of the late seventies and the sounds and smell that was a part of them. I can still smell it lingering in the air over the Dunlop straight at Donington Park.
It’s been a few years since i had a bike, but watching you on these adventures Sandy certainly sparks of those feelings that never go away. The Royal Enfield looks and sounds like a cracking bike. Really enjoy coming along on these adventures. Thanks for sharing Sandy. Mark 👍
I bought 1 and picked it up 7/5. Great little cruiser. For $6496.00 out the door well worth it. Not fast, sporty and love the sound. 300 mile check up this week. MPG wil improve i have been told. The fast bikes are out of my system. Time to enjoy the ride
Thank you Sandy and Colin for that review from the riders perspective of the RE 350. Beautiful looking machine with a true classic sound. Coincidentally, I was at the local RE dealer today trying to decide which model to buy, Int650, Meteor350, orHimalayan. Tough choice because I like them all. As you said, you have to decide what you are going to do with it. Cheers and stay safe, Dan. ✌️🏍🇨🇦
Another great little excursion Sandy, Nice little evaluation of the loaner Bike of Colin's. But much preferred and enjoyed the ride. love the drone shots. as always. I love going through all the Villages, and seeing the types of business's there the people etc. thanks again to you and Colin. for shaing this with us. 73 es we'll CUDTL OM!. hopefully. de Ellis WA1RKS
As a Bristolian living in the Balkans i love seeing the Wiltshire countryside. Weather is good here from tomorrow so the F650 GS will be out after a 6 month break in the garage.
Great to see the pair of you out and about having fun. I've recommended the Meteor 350 to a female friend of mine who's just starting their Direct Access journey aged 60. I think it could be just the thing. Cheers, Sandy. 👍😁
Great video Sandy and Colin. Very enjoyable as always. I do love ir over there as you can get to so many lovely spots in such a short distance compared to where we are here in Australia. Keep up the great work
Always a pleasure to see you and Colin out riding the bikes Sandy. So much greenery around that area right now, true beauty of nature on full display. And there is probably no better way to take all of that in and cover large areas than a bike. I appreciate you taking us all along for the ride. Take care my friend and I will definitely see you on the next one. Cheers
Good crack wid the pair of you sandy 👍🏻and a good review of the meteor, Be nice if you could both be on a couple of 350 classics 🤞🏻😉cheers All the best , mark up in Cumbria 🍺🇬🇧👍🏻
I've owned the Himalayan, then the Meteor 350 and now the Classic 350. Both the meteor and classic 350s are a gem and the only difference besides the styling is the riding position, the Meteor your sat in it and the Classic sat on it. They really are fantastic bikes, excellent value for money, great fun to ride and will cope with motorway work at 70 mph without feeling stressed out. I did a 40 mile run on mine without issue. The speed is restricted because of the home market but it isn't a slouch once fully run in around 1000 miles plus. Any doubters, ignore the spec sheet and go for a good test ride!😊👍
Hi Jonathan I am very pleased with my Himalayan but must saay both Colin and myself felt the new motor fitted into the meteor and Classic is a better unit, it seems to have a bit more getup and go
I was pleased with my Himalayan too Sandy, but for me the seat height, larger wheels etc made it difficult to move around in and out of the shed with my ageing legs and bones and that was the main reason for changing it. Be interesting to see what the new Himalayan Scram is like in comparison when it's released in the next couple of weeks.🤔👍
Great to see Colin out again he must be the oldest *Petrol Head* in Wiltshire ? -It would be great if you could do a review of Colin's motorcycle hobby ? age started bikes once owned and owned now plus his adventures ? Anyway loved this video Sandy-Thank you !
Enjoyed the video Sandy & Colin. My main ride is a Harley Roadking but I also bought a 350 Meteor recently and it's a joy to ride. Smooth engine, very comfortable, light, fun to ride and 100mpg! I've bought some panniers for it and wouldn't hesitate to go touring on it. I tend to stay off motorways, even on the Harley, I find them dull and boring. The Meteor at £3800 is one of the best value bikes on the market.
Nice video - nice you visited my home town of Hungerford (lived in Chilton Foliat but Hungerford is where I went to school and grew up. I was there in that fateful day of Wednesday 19th 1987. Still a very important place in my life). Love the production of this video - even though I’m not a biker I really enjoy these riding videos.
Hi Mark I was actually in Chilton Foliat earlier this week, I parked on the bridge over the river kennet for a bit. Yes we all remember the terrible thing that happened in Hungerford and Savernake on that date
Give me torque over speed any day of the week.....It's not how fast you travel, but the journey that is important. If it can cope with the steepest of inclines, then that's the type of machine I'd love. Little hidden treasure dad didn't show me when we went numerous times to Hungerford...all I ever saw was as you go under the railway bridge, then take an immediate right into a parking area with Boots etc. Shame, I do like a cup of tea and a, slice of cake or even a bun while out. Great video as always mate.
Nice video, thank you. I started riding a 1958 RE Bullet in 1972, just purchased a new 350 Classic. Don’t know if it’s the rose tinted glasses but the 58 seemed a lot quicker. Both very nice motorcycles though.
I've done quite a miles on an old (new) 350 Bullet and really enjoyed it. I could only compare to a late 50's AJS 350 (G3L?). I've been very lucky that my dad is a vintage enthusiast allowing me to ride lots of old bikes. Really enjoyed that Sandy 👍
There's good and bad when it comes to traffic, just avoid the busy roads. Generally the local roads are quieter when its holiday season, everyone has gone away:)
4:40 The days when people used ponds and waters in that way are less far in the past than most imagine. In rural areas the industrial revolution thing did not take place until the 1950s actually. There were no washing machines around in the childhood of my parent's generation who grew up in the later war years for an example. There were hardly any cars around, people were still riding horses and wooden carriages back then, but mostly walking even far distances. It's all not too far back in history.
Royal Enfield has been caught testing several times their Himalayan 450 liquid cooled motorcycle producing about 40 horses. Expected launch is sometime next year. I hope you will get to check that out as well. 👍
I love the look of that bike. Very nice. Great job filming, Sandy. Loved the added drone shots. Now, when are you going to try out an electric bike? 🙂👍🏍️
Enfield bikes are now very well made and perfect when the need for speed, is replaced with enjoying the ride and scenery. I went to look at a Classic 350 in my local Enfield dealer, only one in stock the exact colour I was looking for British Racing Green, that was a week last Friday 4 days later they had no Classics left in shock but a row of brand new Meteors. Was even able to choose my number plate from a stack of them on the dealers office desk, all starting RE22 !
Hi Peter, Yes I would agree, for the money I don't think you will find a nicer bike to ride that offers such a relaxed and enjoyable experience. For slower roads or even long distance travel they are great provided you stay off the motorways where there is little enjoyment to be had anyway
@@WiltshireMan well have ridden since 1970 but have never owned a kick start bike starting with a Honda CB175 never leaked oil either so never got the love of old British bikes. Must say though this Enfield has given me an insight to why British stuff held so much appeal. My problem is I just enjoy riding but not tinkering, having said that used to service my Honda 500 four in 1975 including adjusting tappets and using a timing gun on the points ! I have reached the point in life where speed is not an issue and love the laid back ride on the Classic 350. Look forward to catching up with your videos having only found your channel this morning. Nice ride guys, I am still waiting for RE to bring out a 650 ADV machine. I might even trade my DL650 V Strom then. btw Sandy, I was looking up some friends in Swindon and was surprised to see that Swindon is the pervert capital of the UK. How things have changed since I lived there.
I believe that the next adv Himalayan style bike coming from RE will have a 450cc liquid cooled engine of around 40bhp . Expected launch date summer 2023
If it were me I’d get the classic 350, just for the styling of it, though the more forward controls on the meteor would make it more comfortable probably

As usual, a great presentation from Sandy and Colin. You both feel like old friends to me now, even though I have never met you.

the " electric revolution" is divisive and exclusive, and ties us all to ONE wildly expensive energy source
