Sing A Worried Song Lyrics Sing a worried song For it won't be long That we'll be dead and gone And be passing on To the by-and-by. Set me right beside All my sad ancestors looking like a fright In Daguerrotypes Or in a rotogravure. CHORUS See how the trees they grow Pushing up the dead beneath your feet. You may chew your kudzu down But it's you more likely it will eat. Oh, forever in a bind In that time between the slice of the knife And when the pain arrives That's just life, it's fiiiine The worried brow of mother earth Is the endless furrows plowed in the dirt... Every body in the loam Laid out head to toe In her garden. Hum to ME with velvet thoughts In the end you find it sadly all for nought Gloom is all you've got... OK, now I'll stop.
The look and design of this is a loving homage to Old Fashion 1930s 40s cartoons it was the old jazz band beat with a little hint of Swing also was in black and white
Saw this band in Deadwood S. D. a few years ago. If you want to be truly and thoroughly entertained DO NOT miss these guys if you ever have the chance.
I mean, like, let's be clear here. This is a great song, one of the best new songs I've heard in a while. But Posey is Best Girl and I want more of her please. :)
I like this music video it reminds me of the old classic Fleischer cartoons with Cab Calloway and a little bit of cuphead! Kudos to all those who made this and the singer too! This song was in the pilot for Long Gone Gulch so that was cool!
I love how classy the songwriting is, and how raw the recording is - 'specially the vocals and guitar. (Yeah I know, I'm commenting on the music not the video, weird huh?)
We just came by to drop by to wish this underrated gem a very special Happy 4th Anniversary and hope to see newer merch (or remastered merch for that matter) someday, plus some new songs as well! See ya around!
Corey Smith This isn't their usual style from what I understand. Can't say I listen to them frequently but it seems like they're more Southern/swamp rock and punk, like Hank Williams III.
I actually really enjoyed the animation and style of this-- music included. I was reminded of a few old cartoons-- from 'Minnie the Moocher' to Silly Symphonies' 'Skeleton Dance. I was also getting 'Alice's Wonderland' vibes-- though I think that could just be given to the silent movie era vibes in general. Just loved it!
Can and the Fleishers would be proud. This is definitely going on my Halloween playlist. Excellent work. One nitpick, though. I doubt you needed to explain all the references in the video description. I think your audience is intelligent enough to know what you're paying tribute to. Looking forward to another Nut Zippers collab!
I just realized that posey and colonel JD literally look like rawhide and snag (which funfact: zach bellisimo the guy who made long gone gulch worked on this)
If I may be that fun guy at parties that butts in, it's more likely a reference to Cab Calloway, to go with the rest of the video being an homage to old Fleischer cartoons - more specifically Betty Boop songs. To clarify for anyone reading that may be confused, a few Betty Boop shorts featured a song by Cab Calloway, with the character in the cartoon singing it being a cartoon character rotoscoped over footage of him dancing. These shorts tended to start with a brief live-action clip of Cab Calloway doing his dancing in front of a band to credit him being in it.
Yeah more than anything Danny Elfman in Face Like a Frog was playing the Cab Calloway in Minnie the Moocher bit. The video "Ghost of Stephen Foster" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers is also basically the same video as this one and the Minnie The Moocher Betty Boop short, just retold slightly differently.
Fiction Addiction Yeah, it’s a loving tribute to those exact things, as is admitted to in the caption...if these trolls would bother to read it. Squirrel Nut Zippers’ Jimbo Mathus, a fellow fan of these influences and an influence on LSS, makes a cameo in this video.

Thank you!

The references to Cab Calloway NEVER get old
Gives me Over the Garden Wall, Cuphead, Fleischer Studios and Cab Calloway vibes. LOVE IT.

I'm hoping this gets popular so I can see some more art of Posey.
The look and design of this is a loving homage to Old Fashion 1930s 40s cartoons it was the old jazz band beat with a little hint of Swing also was in black and white
Love the Cab Calloway dance moves....
This is underappreciated
Saw this band in Deadwood S. D. a few years ago. If you want to be truly and thoroughly entertained DO NOT miss these guys if you ever have the chance.

Aced it, the live action scenes looked really convincing and worked well with the animation!
love it when music videos use rubberhose-esque animation
Been a while since I've seen something imitating the style that actually animates it.

Any Danny Elfman inspiration here? c: The live action scenes remind me of when Danny Elfman played Satan! c; Love the video!!!

Subbed and liked! I'm #675!
Always b a Badass Humanity's and i loved it 😎
Video seems to be a rip-off of "The Ghost of Stephen Foster" by the Squirrel Nut Zippers.
Well guess who makes a cameo at 1:08... Jimbo Mathus of SNZ.
Where can I find the lyrics?
I can dig this. RIP Lux💀
Did they get your creators of Bendy and the ink machine and cuphead to work on that because that would be so cool.
Hot Damn
Cool, artsy band. Music sounds a bit like "Big Spender". I noted the Roscoe Holcomb and Jimmy Raney portraits in there. Not bad at all. :)
The girl's design is very cute. What was it based off of? I adore rubberhose and grimoire.
Pretty much every rubberhose heroine rolled into one. You can check out my design process here: tinyurl.com/y7shmpxw
Zach Bellissimo wow I didn't expect a response especially from you! Thank you. Just saw you in a podcast video with Pan Pizza I think
