@@EljohnMacaranas Taylor and Charlie are friends but like at the very least there acquaintances that have toured together and both have said positive things about each other, it’s just to not feel inferior to Taylor right now because she’s not only one of the biggest artists she’s easily one of the most influential artists right now. No tea no shade but I would. Easily make the statement that Taylor, Charlie, and Lana are the most influential female pop artists from the 2010’s and late 2000’s

It’s just a subliminal observation. Rappers do this all the time. Same thing happened to Lorde in “Girl, so confusing” and look what happens: a real bitch gets inspired and we get a remix.
I love how they invited you out to the boat, even though you aren't drowning in subscribers. These experiences mean a lot more to these creators.

As a guy who has been following Charli since True Romance and who has liked all her projects, I can say this is hands down her best work. I think "Girl, so confusing" is the best song Charli has made. The album is challenging AND accessible, thought provoking AND fun, and it's idiosyncratic-- no one else could have made this record. She's earned all the praise.
Girl, so confusing is a career highlight for me too like one of my most played. She deserves the world and I’m glad she’s finally getting it!

while i had always been a casual listener of charli, your first video on her is what made me decide to deep dive and made me a longtime fan of her work. it gave me goosebumps when you said “i think we can finally say that charli xcx is bigger”. charli’s music has been a bright spot for several dark points in my life and i just wanted to thank you for that video. and all of your charli videos, they’re always a pleasure to watch.

true romance OG represent! i heard "grins" by blood diamonds (now bloodpop) and "you" by gold panda before true romance, and hearing those sampled on her debut surprised me because i was like how the fuck do you know these obscure songs. charli remained on my radar ever since. similar experience happened when i heard "next level charli", because i knew that from A G's "big bratt" mix (wait a minute... bratttttt?), although not as unexpected since she's been working with A G for a few years now.

Also as someone that’s been here since the movie days but probably wasn’t commenting I can assure you it’s been a ride, but I like to see yall reviewing movies again even if it’s on the podcast. It may not be for everyone but you were one of the very few channels that didn’t make me feel stupid for liking a certain movie or show and also gave quiet good insights and thoughts behind the movie, you’ve been able to do the same with music. Also I’m saying probably not commented because I know my first comment was probably on a Taylor or Ariana video because I like my first comment to seem well intentioned and well thought out and i could probably map out both Ariana’s and Taylor’s entire career off the top of my head if asked
Thank you so much 💙 it means a bunch to me, I genuinely just felt like movies were over saturated at the time and my passion for pop needed like an outlet but I’m ready to branch out and use the podcast as a way to do that again!
@@EljohnMacaranas your welcome also this isn’t tea or shade to other creators in the music, show, and movie critic spaces but a lot of them use there platform to spreed negativity. Even in the wake of Brat I’ve noticed people are only giving it positive reviews are just putting Charli as the anti Taylor, Ariana,Dua lipa, Billie, Olivia, and most other female artist you can name. So I would watch anything you review critically because I hate the genuine Bullsh*t most other creators and critics have become.
I dunno, I loved 2018 and 2019 pop I loved that trap-influenced and a little more ambient/darker sound, but without being totally sullen or hazy like we've had in the last couple of years (MILEY).
Some of it was genuinely amazing but some artists without forward thinking teams def just followed trends

I would like to add that I wonder if Brat but it’s the same but there’s three more songs So it’s completely different will be the deluxe or final release if the Brat era, a lot of Charlie fan pages keep posting unlisted tracks for another Brat variant and it seems kinda legit, mostly because of the subject matter on brat and tracks Charlie has listed in Brats UA-cam playlist release but it seems to be a lot of collab tracks that would be on this variant, Von Dutch remix with Addison Rae, a Sabrina carpenter and Kim Petras collab, a Lorde Collab, a Taylor swift collab, and a collab track with Caroline Polacheck and Dua Lipa and Carly Rae Jepsen on it seems to be the tracks floating around the most of these posts with people posting alleged credits for these songs. I kinda see it but maybe that’s because I’m not going to bother fact checking these fan pages because I’m to old or really care that much about tracks that were not going to see if Charli doesn’t release them
I feel like a proper remix record akin to Dawn of Chromatica is on the way!
@@EljohnMacaranas I would love that tbh, but I would also like to add I feel like spring breakers would be a great jumping off point for these collabs, like she’s dissing the Grammys only to have her own kinda award show and she’s collaborating with everyone in the audience in this celebration of artistic excellence

@@EljohnMacaranas ngl I feel like that would be karmic justice for interscope to lose out on this album as justice for how they treated other artists but hoping this doesn’t mean that they don’t give Camila proper promotions and as many opportunities to exceed as an artist
