Ok. 1. Is Netflics owned by the SABC? 2. If not.Why pay tv liicense if the streaming services is paid for allready? Why not try claiming payments from netflix for all their subscribers? It’s no illegal as DSTV pays for license already to play that content and built in subscription. TV license is for TV that has a built in RF receiver for picking up tv signals via antenna. A monitor like PC or smart monitor dont require license. Who watches SABC now days. They should close.
SABC pay your CEO's less, you have NO business to request a fee for something you are not providing. Those who own a TV should be paying a fee already, we won't settle for another fee added on top for NO reason. If your issue is people aren't paying their TV licenses, don't go and slap on another fee to those who ARE paying. you will be digging your own graves, you will lose the paying customers, then where will your salaries come from next.
You forced DSTV to include SABC. If this was not the case then you wont need a TV license for DSTV either. The only thing that is probably watched on SABC is news, which can be a separate company or private entity.
Bring out your own decoder and see how many ppl subscribe to your 4 channels. And how does Netflix, amazon prime and UA-cam piggyback off of SABC, or are you planning to have telkom and other service provider like them charge us a license fee on top of paying for there service?
