- Hey everyone, and welcome back to another devlog for N.E.S.T! In this video, I go through how I went about implementing "gesture regions" as well as how I created the main-menu... better know as the "base camp"! Hope you enjoy, and see you in two weeks! :)

N.E.S.T is an action-packed, looter-shooter mobile game that entrusts you to save Earth from an alien invasion after a rogue interstellar radio message leads them straight here. Unconventionally however, these aliens don't arrive via spaceships. Instead, large nests crash into Earth's surface, and it is up to you to destroy them all before the aliens regain their full strength, and take over our beloved planet.

The base camp looks great! Definitely agree it is more fun than just text menus. And yeah, I'd imagine rewriting the movement/navigation took a bit, but it looks like it is working well now. Nice work Daniel, and Happy Holidays!
Thanks so much Garrett! 😁 Happy holidays! 🎄🥳

You've heard this a lot already, but I really love the base camp menu! Also the customisable controls look great! Keep it up. Excited to see what you'll come up with next :D
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the feedback! 😁
Wow, great solution for input with the gesture regions. Keeps the UI clean and still gives the complex controls of an fps. And love the idea for the main menu, looking forward to seeing it finished!
Thanks so much Sam! I'm really happy with how it all turned out! :)
Awesome work as always! Base camp is a great concept and looking forward to seeing it being finished! Really hope I can be on the test team when you release a version to the public :D
Thanks for the support! :) And yes, of course! Make sure you've joined the discord server though to be included in the Beta!
This type of inventory and interactive manu is something I really love. I imagine this menu "finished" but in a background a city is destroyed and monsters are everywhere:)
Thanks Danny! That sounds great! My goal is to finish the base camp for the next devlog, so I look forward to showing you what I come up with! :)
Looking good, I like the way you made your "main menu" more interactive. Good work overall, keep it up :)
Thanks Kevin! Appreciate the support! :)
Love the base camp concept. I too prefer menu systems where there are real things to interact with. I also liked your solution to navigation and action areas - that will make a huge difference to those people who are on devices that you didn't initially intend for. I think it's fair to say that to us viewers, it's obvious this update has a huge amount of work in it. Happy Holidays, see you in the Discord!
Thanks so much Rob! Appreciate the feedback! See you in the Discord! 😁
The customizable input is a brilliant idea!
Thanks so much! Really appreciate the feedback! :)
Wow your menu idea is really cool! Looking forward to see the final result :D
Thanks Jonas! 🥳
Excellent progress, the fact that you're targeting mobile makes this pretty unique.
Thanks! :)
Nice work and progress each week. Keep it up!!
Thanks so much! :)
I love this menu! Well done!

Need to get some customization in my project in eventually. Also I hear some buzzing in the background when you talk.
Yeah! And thanks, I'll look into it! :)
