It's a Scampi... Cuz something smellls fishy!
Did it have a sticker that said it may cause cancer?
Yes, because I don't believe in ghosts.
If it was real, yes.
Yup. I would force the ghost to help me write songs.
boy if you think im going to turn down a free, high end, extremely valuable guitar just because its haunted you are damn wrong. what you think a couple of demons can ruin my life more than i already did?
Hahahahaha....that’s freakin funny!!!
if it wasn't for bad luck,i wouldn't have any luck at all.
damn lawyer morty
Yes
Exactly what I was thinking..
Sounds like a clever way to get rid of a stolen item 🤔
Nahh, they would sell it, pawn shops really don't ask questions. And if they wanted to get rid of it they would probably just leave it in a dumpster or something
@@no-tj8ee Yea. But you can recover it from a pawn shop if you have documentation of you owning it and with the serial number.
@@no-tj8ee If you have something stolen the first thing you do is report it to the police and the pawn shops. We got a stereo system returned to us after it was stolen and the guy was arrested all because we just told the pawn shops to be on the lookout.
clever?? wouldn't it be one of the dumbest ways?
@@no-tj8ee if an investigator walked in to the pawn shop asking about it,trust me they would be singing like a bird.
Yeah, I mean, if your guitar is haunted I'm sure GC will take it off your hands for 1/4 value
Or Pawn Stars...
"Sorry, the best I can do is 20 bucks"
Omg but doesn't GC absolutely deserve something like this??
Only in a perfect world. 🎸〰️⚰️
Fuck man!I can't stop laughing!!! It's people like you that say the dam coolest things, bless u 🙏 ❤
In my experience they will give you about 60% of what they will list it for. I've actually sold a couple guitars to them at a profit.
@@danialpai5984 "I'll have to put new strings on it....polish it...it will sit here for a while....etc etc"
Take it for free, sell it without the “haunted” story... $15k is $15k I didn’t have before.
That's what I was thinking
When you do that, the ghost leaves the guitar and haunts the $15k.
the massive wave of bad luck is called 2020, bro. Join the club!
amen to that!
Very Well Said!
thats a good point about this being a scam, they could have gotten money for shipping from hundreds of people who went into a GAS blur and jumped on the oppertunity
hey man what year is your blue epiphone? thats a sweet axe
@@jefflee1189 thanks! i think its a 2003
What does GAS mean
@@DatBoi-mo9vc It stands for "Gear Acquisition Syndrome", which basically means "the inability to prevent yourself from buying more and more guitars"
Well stated. And true.
HEY, that’s my 52!!! I played it at our wedding, our kids school, made a good living with that guitar. Then I played a gig in New York and someone swiped it out of my trunk!!!!
My insurance company gave me $45,000.00 for it. It was not haunted for me....... matter of fact, it’s name was LUCKY. Ha Ha Ha
Bullshit
One bj and it’s yours, said the one who finally answered. My dignity is worth a bit more then that to me. Maybe for a 1959 burst, maybe...
And he's married to Michelle Pfeifer. Hope she doesn't have any cruel intentions
I heard a story on the podcast 60 cycle hum about a guy that was selling a guitar really cheap. I don't remember what kind or exact details but basically the seller wanted the buyer to accompany him to a movie and dinner which the seller would pay for. The seller than suggested they could go back to the sellers place and just chill and have a few drinks. It even got to the point where it sounded like if the buyer would just go hang out with the dude he might get the guitar for free. But then it got even stranger when the buyer sort of referred to it as a date and such. To be clear it wasn't either of the hosts of the podcast that was the buyer but a story from listener email.
Another thing of note is a small town a few hours from me has a designated parking spot right in front of city hall and the police department which has cameras covering the area that if people want a more secure location to do local pickups for things like CL that it is an option.
Mercatinomusicale is like a cheap version of Reverb that we have here in Italy, it felt so weird seeing it on your channel lol
Yep it felt so awkward
And btw, yes, the listing was just the tailpiece
Hey I’m first for once! Love your videos man. Keep up the hard work. We appreciate it.
"I did it so you won't have to"
Trogly a GMM fan confirmed
I truly appreciate all that you do for your fellow guitarist. Thank you for being so informative in every way.
Fun video. I liked the new style. It’s a nice change from unboxing and review vids.
If it's really free send it to me I'll let you know if it's haunted haha
I wish i had a les paul like this. Im saving up for a les paul classic.
Good luck brother
Picked up a 2018 Classic a couple of weeks ago... wonderful rocker that punches way above its price tag
I can’t wait for HallowTroglyWeen! 🎃
I've seen a similar post on the LA CL before with a similar story. Also included is a picture of the previous owner who was a weird looking kid said to have haunted the guitar after death. Trolling is a art
Nice video dude!
A friend of my brothers once gave me a "haunted" guitar. He was an older guy, a high end classic car restorer, not prone to flights of fancy. He said sometimes he could hear the guitar being strummed by itself
. I played it. Kept it for a while. Never had any paranormal experiences related from it. It was snagged from a roadside fatality shrine, thus the haunting. I will admit, I used to pass a shrine on my way to work with a Les Paul copy attached to a cross, I fought the nasty knee jerk impulse to grab it. Just not cricket I suppose. And, no one else grabbed it for the entire time I drove that commute past the accident shrine. I put a guitar in a friends coffin, so I understand the nature of the gesture by the bereaved. We want those we loved to be close to what they loved even when the soul has departed the realm. We will have to ask the ancient Egyptians about what is behind this behavior...
Hello Trogly! New viewer but I’ve been binging the hell out of your channel. I have a question about a Harmony H79 that I own. Sadly it doesn’t have a bridge and I’m worried about how I can replace it because it is a guitar that I’m wanting to play at some point. Any ideas?
Thanks Austin! Of course I’d take it ! ☠️☠️☠️🎃🙀
I owned the "bass of death". Two previous owners of it died within a year of owning it. I painted it black with 13 red skulls to appease the demons within it. When I moved I gave it to a friend that needed a bass to lay down tracks for what he called a spooky, erotic doom metal album. I dunno where it is now, but for awhile I was the keeper of the bass of death.
I got chills from that dude...
@@mikeellis9720 it's a true story except I dunno if it really had demons in it.
Awesome show tonight! ✌️🤪🎸🎶🎶🎵🎶
I was probably around 17 or 18 when my father walked in the door middle of summertime, with a guitar case that I immediately recognized as old & Les Paul... It was a 52 and he had picked it up for $300. Someone had it under a bed, and it had come out because my pop was over there with his acoustic. He said hey dummy, here you go, that covers Christmas coming up and probably the next one. It was completely lacquer checked, the story being it had come from touring/playing through Alaska. It had been painted red over the gold which could be seen underneath around the edges and wherever there was a little wear. It had that awful bridge that they used to say about the first 50 were made with. I think it turned out to be more like 100 or 200 before they changed that. It must have been about mid to late 70s maybe 1980 when I got it. A few stand out details about it were that beat the hell pink inside case, the p90s especially the rear were bordering on magical you could hit a note and it would sort of ping up into a higher sustaining octave when you were really getting into it, the top seemed to be hand carved as it actually dipped in/down deeper around the edges after the binding, before sculpting up towards the middle... Sort of like a little moat all around the outside of the top, and the back was a solid piece of mahogany that was actually beautiful, you could just look at it, and the grain would pull you in.... Sort of hauntingly... just kidding (about the haunting not the beauty. And my nickname was because we liked to watch Sanford and Son, it was sort of like a big guy named tiny... My pop was very open about thinking I was not a 'duncewit') ha.
Yes! I need a guitar that won't short out when I walk around.
Mercatino musicale is an italian "Reverb like" webpage, where you can sell new or used gear. Just bought a Mesa Boogie Triaxis over there (I have family in Italy). And in fact, the guy was listing only the tail bridge for sale. Cheers!
Trogly, you called me a liar! lol It did go to voicemail just like I said.
damn, I am early, the lucky jacket payed off!
I just picked it up. Nice guitar! Totally nice guy. He just didn’t want it! Thanks Trog!
There's a "country" song in here somewhere.
Mercatino musicale is a sort of a mix between Craigslist and reverb, as far as I know you can post for sale anything you want (music related only of course) kinda like on Craigslist, but you can find new stuff from dealers even though I’m not sure how exactly works when you buy from a dealer
Would legit play it, imagine playing on stage and randomly a piece of the roof almost falls on you that would otherwise kill you. How awesome is that!
Trogly's in the HOUSE!!!
I spotted someone on fbook marketplace acting like they were selling a 70's SG for dirt cheap. Her scam was to ask for a high first payment (for shipping and a sort of down payment) and I send them the rest after I get my vintage Gibson in the mail! The most sickening part of their scam was she was saying it's her husband's who's a veteran and needed the money. He wasn't a veteran. Stolen valor to gain my trust. Gross
Today in my local Craigslist my friend just texted me an add with the same Les Paul it says grandfathers estate sale. I saw this video last week and sent it to him.
"Mercantino Musicale" is Italian for Little Musical Market and is, as the name suggests, an Italian website where people can buy, sell or trade musical instruments.
Plot twist: the guitar stopped the owner for answering the phone.
If it sounds too good to be true, it usually is.
I just noticed, Austin just got his check mark youtube thingy. Congrats! (if that means anything)
You're actually pretty good at the dramatic reading thing.. I've heard worse on many audio books.
I replied to a kijiji ad looking for a trade. He had one yellow poplar leaf. I offered a half eaten eraser and he turned me down. Obviously he wasnt serious!
mark dietz hahahahahahahaha
no.1 yea.....,nice guitar its no harley benton 450sc gt but its ok!!keep well everyone😁
The Italian site is just selling the LP/295 tailpiece.
I have an idea that the guitar is actually a 70s one that was reliced by someone.
Get it Trog!
What?! He lives right near me too! Damn I missed the chance! I'm sure someone has already followed up. Maybe 1% chance there was actually a guitar, but still worth a shot... Would I take an allegedly haunted guitar? Yes, absolutely, they're nuts.
I've gotten most my guitars for free. I was exited when I saw this, but also afraid it might be a scam. It is, but I'm confused why they put 1970's Gibson Les Paul, when it's a picture of a 1950's Les Paul. I saw the thumbnail and thought "cool, a 1952 Les Paul!", But I saw 1970's and was disappointed. I am getting better at avoiding scams, but I'm still learning. I don't know where this picture came from, but looks like many other scammers use it too.
This video was like the MTV's Catfish mixed with Syfy's Haunted Collector
Humorous No doubt. Sounded great 🙂
Mercantino Musicale means “music market” and its a legit Italian site with classifieds where people buy and sell thier gear.
If a Jamaican lady answers the phone then this is an elaborate “Everybody Hates Chris” reference. (She put the voodoo mojo on it
This guitar reminds me my ex-gf, seems he was haunted to cause she ruined my life too
L
Should have tuned her to 'D'.
When skam meets creativity, at least I give them that, as my father used to say if is good, and is free, move out because isn't true, cool story tho, tnx man
I have a 66 mustang that the two previous owners died tragically(an ex's sister's fiancè and their brother both died young and tragically. Brother died surfing in Mexico and his body was never recovered)
I had a college buddy who would prank our friend group by posting a free chainsaw on Craigslist using our phone numbers and a random pic of a chainsaw from Google images in the listing. This was back in the days before free data and unlimited minutes, so my voicemail was full within an hour and it ended up costing me about $50 in overages on my cell phone bill that month. Was still funny though.
Trogly telling us to get our carry permits. Hell yeah!
Mercatino musicale is an Italian version of Craigslist for music instruments...
Lots of scams there!
I'm frightened!😲
I’m Italian, as is the website Mercatino musicale, and I can confirm that the listing is just for the tailpiece.
I had a dresser that wouldn’t sell on CL so I added “haunted” to the title and it sold that day lol
Haha saw this thing this morning and did a reverse google search immediately I was so tempted. Unfortunately it turned out a match.
Baidu is a Chinese internet company, and the site you were on was their version of Wikipedia. Just thought you'd like to know.
Im in the same Les Paul group!! Have you seen my Cinnamon Burst post by any chance?
If the guitar is in Bedstuy, it's probably stolen.
Bottom-wrapped bridge? No palm-muted GHOST NOTES, then... ;-)
I wold love that guitar 🎸
Good video
Kind of reminds me that movie 12 monkeys when they used a voice mail to comunicate between ages
I have this guitar that I think is rare it's a Dean a flying V but everywhere I look for it, I can't find it also it has like a colored shapes on it, light for V, and everything about its great but I can't find where it came from
yes I would take it
I know a few ways to "banish" things
Let me state the obvious. When Gibson left Kalamazoo the employees that did not move with Gibson formed Heritage and carried on making a lot of the same guitars with nothing changed except the headstock. They soon had a full range of guitars but sales never grew to a serious level. They now only make 3 models. Big But! They now own the Harmony name and are making Harmony guitars to specs that rival or better Gibson but sell at for bargain prices. I am sure all the Gibson fans here would love to see you revue one. I suggest the Harmony Silhouette. The PU's look like Gold Foils but old friends from Kalamazoo tell me they are actually Firebird PU's made to Gibson's old spec and even made on the original winders. Only you can tell us more by doing one of your tear downs and having a look. I figure a guy as Gibson crazy as you are would want to follow the whole story
I would consider it griefing (or self doxing) instead of doxing but I get what you mean.
So on a scale of 1-10 how murdered do you think the responder will be?
11
what's up early birds?
getting ready to have a shot and make some guitar decals. whats up your way?
@@jefflee1189 should be practicing guitar or bass but watching videos about guitars instead!
@@WattchomanBrandySavage well hey we can all learn a trick or 2 by watching vids lol
Does it come with Robert Johnson 's prowess?
Maybe the guitar has a soul that will just shows it power when it’s in the right hands :))
Sir, my life was already ruined long ago. I'd gladly take this or any other haunted guitars out there!
Thanks for typing the scenarios into your Chrome search?
Everyone knows if you have an object that is haunted, you can't just get rid of it, it will always follow you wherever you go and it can't be destroyed. If you do try to destroy it, it will end up on your stairs in the middle of the night, so you trip and fall and break your neck.
Major logical problems with that story. If it was such a curse, why didn’t the poster just throw the darn thing in the East River or leave it on the street?
Ok well, I’m sure we’ve all seen the ghost shows, whether you believe in hocus pocus or not, would this guitar be worth the risk? I’d say no, I have a small guitar shop and I do believe in some hocus pocus but not this particular story, I think Troggy has it right, probable scam. Think about it though, why toy with shit like that, clearly there’s some truth to unseen forces, why bring that into your day to day, or night to night? Beautiful guitar, great historical piece. Personally, I’m not a fan of waking in the middle of the night and crapping myself because there’s a residual spiritual attachment to a guitar I bought.
you can tell from the professional background of those photos that they probably weren't taken by a seller like that
Best thing to do to a haunted les Paul is bury it in the desert! Then see if it still plays. I heard some dude out west tried this...
Maybe is just one of the pots is haunted, just some cleaning spray or replace it.
Or could be stolen and some one is trying go get rid of it and/or trying to blame them that it was stolen
Yes, yes I wld take it
I responded to a craigslist ad for a cheap Gibson les paul a few years back. Turns out some guy was pranking his ex-girlfriend by placing the ad with her number.
52 is my birth year. Would love to have it. Had a house burn down, wife die, cancer, I've had a few demons. What's a few more?
Probably a dude who knew he'd be on a date and look like his phone was blowing up
Another scam is to add a contact number that reverses the charge back to your phone with huge costs.
I don't care if I die by 30, I'll take that thing
I don’t even have to watch the video yet and I want it. I want it even more if it is haunted!
My neck of the woods: I was late to the party on this one. I can’t find it anymore if craigslist, so either someone got a free guitar or it was bogus.
can u do an episode about epiphone casino?
Wood chippers make short work of haunted guitars. Being from Alabama, the inflection on the word "haunted" is properly pronounced "HAINTED" in Alabameeze. When I hear of something haunted, not too concerned. If it's HAINTED, I take it seriously.
Brad Miller sent me here, to see this haunted item.
lol the unsolicited services thing is just a craigslist default thing
If it's haunted it might give it character!
Yeah, after some thought... he can torture me for a free 1952 Les Paul. ;-)
Sounds like a cross roads guitar story with a scam attached. But there are famous musicians who died young an under suspicious circumstances. After the devil or one of his minions tuned there guitar so possibly could one be cursed. But would it transfer to a new owner or be cleared of it by a blessing. I wouldn't want to find out or try even not even lil.
