WOW! That was a great find. I hope you enjoy beach living . I remember you from the interview I did with Cartess and you mentioned your find. Your voice is so calming by the way. I envision you as a therapist or conflict resolution specialist lol! Enjoy!
Hi Malika. I enjoy watching your videos. Yes. Cartess helped me find this great spot! It's funny that you say that about my voice because, although I'm not licensed as a therapist and don't practice, I was trained to be one. The work is too heavy for me. But I am a certified life coach. 😅
Absolutely beautiful!! 👏 AND it comes fully furnished. ☺️ Love it!! Enjoy every moment!! Thank you for sharing and for creating this channel. 🙏🇲🇽 VIVA MEXICO!! 🇲🇽
Your apartment is really cute and nice that it has the upper and lower cabinets in the kitchen, I watch Cartess and know that not all kitchens are so equipped. Your cutting board is beautiful!
Thank you Cindy! I love that it wasn't made in a factory. It's going to see miles as a charcuterie board. (should I even use a word when I have to look up the spelling?!😂😂)
Heather, how beautiful and I am looking to visit Mexico-in June. I love this apartment. Hope to connect with you when I visit Merida. Cheering you on! 😁
Hi Meribe free. Thanks for checking out the video and commenting. I wanted folks to see exactly what living near the beach could look like and how much it could cost. I hope it helps them make better decisions and encourages them to take the leap out of the US.
The AC on with windows open isn’t great for the owner. They get CFE credits but you are letting their savings go out the window. When you get your own place you’ll see how conserving electricity is important. Great place. Crazy expensive but beautiful. Good luck!
Thanks for the info on the AC. I keep the AC set to 28 in the bedrooms to manage the humidity and close those doors. There's no AC in the living areas but the incoming breezes take care of that. Believe me, I've owned multiple homes, and I respect energy use.
@gcchair7634 Hi, sorry about your credit issue. Im assuming it was in the US. You'll be happy to know that no credit check was done when I rented my apartment. You may have to pay first month's and a deposit of some sort. It is up to the landlord. I did have to pay a couple hundred for legal fees to draw up the rental agreement. That was it.
@@HeatherICreateMyPathOpen your windows , with the AC on, if you want to!.. it gets humid if you shut it off & you want fresh air. 💜.. I’m sure it’s not all the time ..
Hi Gloria. Thanks! I only turn on the AC at night in the bedroom, with the doors closed. And because I'm not fond of AC, it's set at 28. It works well for me and I'm enjoying my life here! 😁
WOW!! Thank you for this Beautiful video of your apartment In Progreso. I’m also making plans for retirement to live abroad and Mexico is the vibe for me. #myretirementjourney
I carefully studied other folks who were unhappy here. One of their main issues is freedom lost by not having a car. I worked purchasing a car into my budget, and I chose to buy from a dealership because I wanted the warranty and inspection. Being a points girl, I used my travel card to earn points toward my trip this summer.🤣 Of course, I paid it off in the cycle. No interest payments wanted!
Hello Allen. To find what's currently available for rent in this area you can explore available rentals via Facebook groups such as Yucatán Beach Rentals, or you can seek the assistance of Cartess Ross @ Move Abroad and Thrive. He's an expert at helping people find apartments in and around Merida.
Hi Diana. I found the kind of house I wanted was outside my budget in Progreso. The house I chose is in a neighborhood about 10 minutes from the conveniences of Mérida and 25 minutes to Progreso on a good highway.
@HeatherICreateMyPath great place! Did you need to form a trust, corporation etc. to buy a house there? I've only heard one couple mentioning this? Conkal?🍀
@jvahl8747 Yes. If you purchase within 50 miles to the beach, a trust is necessary for those who aren't Mexican citizens. The trust is set up with a bank, and the process is handled through a notary. Angel is guiding me through the process. It's not difficult, but there are a number of things that need to happen. I wouldn't want to try it without an experienced person on my side, explaining everything. That's why I work with Angel.
@@HeatherICreateMyPath that's for sure! No one else purchasing there had mentioned this requirement. Is there a set fee for a trust or do they base it upon the purchase price? Hoping to get a picture of the complete costs of buying. Thank you and best of luck 🍀🙏
I believe most are set fees. If you can, please drop that question in the "Ask Angel Anything" thread. That way, I can be sure you'll get the correct answer. He's an expert at the home buying process. Also, if you watch my "Things you must know before buying a house in Mérida" video, you will hear the exact fees I've paid so far.
Hi Jim. Thanks for checking out my video. It's definitely possible to find less expensive apartments in Mérida and its surroundings. My place is a good fit for me. 😁 About the house...it's 115k USD. If you want to see it in detail, I've published a video labeled "What you can get for 115k USD..." The only reason I share details and numbers is to let people know there are options and exactly what those options could look like. Some will choose a smaller budget, and others will spend more.
Hi, Are you still in this rental in Progreso? If not I'd love to get your landlords info, this place is exactly what I was looking for when we arrive in November. We need a place while our home in Chelem is being built.
@@HeatherICreateMyPathHola. I’m now in Guadalajara. My lease ends in August and I’m looking for the next Mexico spot to explore. I see you bought a car and I’m wondering if it’s required for this apartment's location?
Hi @jkeeton5297 . There are busses and Uber, so it's not essential to have a car. I like exploring, and sometimes it may be challenging to get an Uber to go between Progreso and Mérida at night because they may not easily find a passenger for the return trip. Getting a car or not depends on your lifestyle. In my opinion, it's a great addition.
