This movie made me so sad. It reminded me of my poor husband who suffered from dementia for three years, with a memory that was fifty years in the past. He waited for his parents and brothers and friends, who were no longer alive, to visit him and he could never understand why they never came. He had no idea who I was, or our children. But I knew who he was and cared for him with love.

post traumatic stress is a journey into hell; i would not wish it upon my worst enemy; for those of you who are in the midst of it, i pray you will find wholeness and peace like never before, and wear your trauma as a badge of honor; if you can, study the life of Jesus; He knows all about it. If you can, place your hands in His wounds and there you shall find streams of endless Mercy and healing. Every blessing to you.

And to think : Skinner and Relph had the opportunity to make “My Son The Lighthouse Keeper” but chose instead to succumb to the opportunistic blandishments of the Walker Brothers and take on this turgid melodrama, giving it the third rate predictability and inept direction it deserved for three times the cost. Obviously it made hardly a penny back and now languishes in various libraries as an oddity from the eighties

I barely recognised Ann Margaret in this movie even when I knew it was her.
SO Depressing!!!! But yet again it's a British Drama......those writers....
