Hi Tom, How are you? Can't thank you enough for sharing your thoughts, techniques and experiences. You and your presentations are so human and relatable. Best learning fishing videos out there. Stay safe.
Ive alway had alot of success casting or troling the kastmaster. The only way I can them interested in it is is by going super slow and as close to the bottom as possible. I only do it on mud flats and sand because they snag up to easy.
Tom, thanks for helping me become a better walleye fisherman. You and Jon Thelen are the best on UA-cam. You both teach not just show catching fish. Thanks for what you do. I enjoy Kabetogama. Would enjoy a video from there someday.
Just started watching and you do a great job of explaining the tips & techniques. We use to fish Wisc at Big Sissabagama. Loved the area and noticed you were from Hayward.
Hey Tom, Thanks for the great advise. I am heading out to beautiful Bull Shoals Lake in Northwest Arkansas to chase some walleye next week looking forward to trying some of you suggestions for both the walleye and smallmouth. Our "Eyes" down here are not a large of plentiful as your lakes but we love to catch and eat them.
Tom, Excellent and informative. Used a 1/2 ounce silver Kastmaster this last week and caught a whole mess of channel cat's that were suspended at about 40'. Wasn't the species I was looking for but it was a blast. Funny you would mention it in this video. Didn't have any success with the hyper rattle, but got lot's of practice. Just don't think I was in the fish and where I needed to be. But I had lot's of fun and it was great learning experience. Going out again on Sunday so hopefully will get a chance to use the hyper rattle again. Keep up the Tom Talks, next time, bring some water. LOL
I can't wait for my buddy to get back from his trip. I'll get him out there this fall to troll walleye. He has a great setup it's fun going with him he just steers the boat. He also uses flicker shads and minnows. 😁
Really enjoy your videos! Of all the fishing equipment, presentations and techniques, ELECTRONICS IS THE KEY. Please Tom, Talk to us about your DEPTH SOUNDER! Which specific model do you have and why that one? In choosing a depth sounder what features do you consider to be most important, which are gimmicks? Do you use the Helix to control your MinKota (contour following; go to waypoint)? I understand the display advantage of two Helix 9 units but for someone (on a budget) looking for a single unit with maybe a 9 inch, 10 inch or 12 inch screen, what would you recommend? Would the 1280H x 800V resolution of the Solix 10 (over the 1024H x 600V of the Helix 10) be worth the extra cost? Could you comment in the LakeMaster mapping, its features/limitations and your likes/dislikes? Thanks for sharing your experience!
Hey Tom thanks for all that you teach. Have a question on sunglasses I can't see my locators screens very clear with the sunglasses I have what's your suggestion thanks
I'm in Colorado and we have alot of lakes that are shore fishing only and the water is only about 15'- 35' how can I target more walleye in this situation? I've found out they like perch color spoons but that's it.
Great comparison of the Hyper Rattle to a jerk bait, and the pause in colder water. Heard many anglers say the glide baits only work in warmer water, so great tip! How do you prefer to hook your suckers when jigging?
Love the Tom talks video I have a good question for you don't hear about this how would you fish a shallow lake with little rock humps but lots of wood and soft bottom
Great video Tom! Very helpful as I'm heading up to Minocqua from Arizona next week to get in some walleye and bass fishing and maybe drag a sucker minnow around for a wandering musky as well. BTW, if you have any recommendations for good walleye lakes in the Minocqua area I'm all ears!
Tom great channel thanks for the info. I'm sure you've covered this so I'm sorry if I missed it. I am to stubborn when I fish and don't know when to give up and try something different. How long should I give a technique or bait before I move onto something else?
Hi Tom, another great video. I have been using all your tips and tricks and seeing great results. Explored new areas of our lake and finding the walleye pulling J-11 rapalas about 100 feet or so back from the boat. The walleye are being caught in 50ft of water about 10ft down from the surface. None being found in 20-30ft of water. There are no secondary structure where we find them. Do you find this happens for you as well? Finding them 10ft deep in really deep water.
Hey Tom, I'm going to vermilion for muskies mid September. I'm thinking top water and blades from info on forums. I've done big pike Manitoba, never muskies. Any tips? Love the videos man.
Good Day Mr. Tom. By chance do you throw Rippen Raps in the fall as well? I am mainly a blade bait guy when water temps get mid 40’s. Due to my new found love of hyper rattles I will definitely be giving them a go too. Have a good one. #YOUDAMAN
Good stuff Tom. I have always used rapala jigging raps but decided to try the acme hyper rattle and had some really good success. Only thing I noticed is the hyper rattle tends to tangle (hook to line or hook to snap) quite a bit more. Any tips?
Im curious on times of the day u recommend fishing. We have had most our luck in the dark of the night but I'm curious if you think time of day even matters.
We’ve got a place on balsam. Haven’t had a ton of luck with the eyes there. When we did it was the north side of the main bay from the sand bar west. Follow the 20’ contour. 46 store just off the public launch is solid.
Hi Tom,

Lol love the sounds effects..it does what? Good times.
Love these Tom talks, I started fishing about a year ago and thanks to you, I have a ton of confidence and have learned so much, thanks for that.

Once again you break it down into what we can understand. Appreciate these videos and always look forward to watching.
Great video as always, thank you sharing your knowledge
I thank you Tom on showing me hyper rattles works awesome in 30 ft of water just vertical jigging and they just smoke it

What’s the best all around size for acme rattletrap, fishing 15-30 foot of water for walleye?
Great comparison of the Hyper Rattle to a jerk bait, and the pause in colder water. Heard many anglers say the glide baits only work in warmer water, so great tip!
How do you prefer to hook your suckers when jigging?
Love the Tom talks video I have a good question for you don't hear about this how would you fish a shallow lake with little rock humps but lots of wood and soft bottom

Great advice!
Hey Tom, I'm going to vermilion for muskies mid September. I'm thinking top water and blades from info on forums. I've done big pike Manitoba, never muskies. Any tips? Love the videos man.

Do you like the rattle master spoons? I use them through the ice but was wondering if you’ve tried them in open water?
The lake I fish is a man made reservoir with no structure how would you recommend to fish it great video
I’ve been really trying the snap rap and the fish at my lakes must go to a different school because I have yet to catch anything on it.
Love your videos Tom! Keep em coming. I have learned so much!
I fished Big Yellow in Webster yesterday. No luck :(
Good stuff Tom. I have always used rapala jigging raps but decided to try the acme hyper rattle and had some really good success. Only thing I noticed is the hyper rattle tends to tangle (hook to line or hook to snap) quite a bit more. Any tips?
Smaller snap
Have you ever tried the hyper glide? Just bought one, curious how it will work
Here on Erie the Bandit is king...
Im curious on times of the day u recommend fishing. We have had most our luck in the dark of the night but I'm curious if you think time of day even matters.
Early morning and late nights are the best
Hey Tom, what do you mean by turnover???
On the Hyper-Rattle which hole do you use for the snap?
Front
What kind of fishing line do you recommend with fishing the hyper rattle?
12lb mono
Staying on Bone in a couple of weeks, probably try Balsam for walleye , have any bait shops in area to recommend?
We’ve got a place on balsam. Haven’t had a ton of luck with the eyes there. When we did it was the north side of the main bay from the sand bar west. Follow the 20’ contour.
46 store just off the public launch is solid.
