    Headgear is definitely something that people can argue for days about according to their own likes/dislikes of what they think makes up a good headgear, but I gotta say Carlo, this video definitely makes me want to get one of these! The visibility and lightness of it are very appealing to me. Do you know if the winning cheek protector stacks up similarly to this in regards to weight and visibility?

    • @csquaredboxing
      @csquaredboxing  3 роки тому +3

      I agree, like anything, there are always variables especially when it comes to people’s head sizes and just how their face lines up with headgear. Winning is very nice quality and lightweight. It has good visibility (not as good as this one) but you trade it off with better nose protection. The chin strap is also better with the quick clip. Just cost a lot of money and if you don’t want to drop that type of $$ then the ringside gets the job done very well.

    I have an older model of this without the quick tie, a buckle chin strap, the back piece is completely separate and the whole thing is adjustable velcro fit instead of laces so it's complicated to get the fit right and it's all leather so it slides around lol I really want open face headgear.

    My son is looking for his first headgear and is keen on the Phenom SHG-250 after seeing your recent review. As this review is a little older, do you still consider the ringside one of your favourites or would the Phenom be a good choice?

      I have the win1 14oz and they are a bit stiff for sparring but give a great pop on bag and pads, the 16s have a different padding which is better for sparring, the aliens are supposed to be really solid though not good for sparring.
