    They actually originally did have a damage modifier due to Elemental weaknesses (this was also in the original TTS mod before it was updated). I believe a significant part of the issue was two-fold.
    1. Players needing to constantly remember to apply the damage modifier when applicable, but more importantly...
    2. That it would require the developers to decide if they needed to balance the Monsters health and damage with the expectation of players of players focusing on taking advantage of Weaknesses, versus those that either don't, or simply don't have the right elements of gear available (based upon either previous Monsters fought, or what they've decided to built).
    As it is, I honestly appreciate being able to add (only a few builds will likely remove cards, such as an Ultimate Burst Mirah) more cards I wanted into the deck. Either to shore up weaknesses, or focus on strengths (such as more Offensive cards for the Dual Blades, Karah, to trigger Blade Dance more easily). Also, sometimes, you really just want one more card of a given type, and it's nice to not have to be so choosy. Particularly if your Deck Upgrades are adding multiple cards of the same color that you like. Well, and more cards can be viewed as slightly more health, due to fatigue damage from deck cycling (outside of the two Masteries which ignore Fatigue damage).
    I'm biased, though, as I quite enjoy deck construction, and believe it has more mechanical impact than minor damage modifiers would have (even if the damage modifiers might technically have made your character stronger).
    To the above, it's impressive that, while the Deck Upgrade cards are often an upgrade over the Starter cards, it's usually more due to a build synergy, rather than them actually being 'stronger' than the Starter cards. Many, if not most, of the Starter cards still feel like 'must-add' cards to most decks, even after picking up an upgrade or two. Having to choose if you take them out as you unlock more Deck Upgrades can be tough.

    You should have got dividers for all of the monsters/heroes with the core box.

      @@BoardGamesUnLocked only if you ordered the additional storage box. No dividers for core box only owners.

      @@brettspielmeta That is not true. The monster dividers should be in the core box. I certainly got mine and I didn't order the sleeve box. The dividers are even listed in the components list in the rulebook.

    Oh and when talking accessible boss battlers. If you dont need miniatures there are actually some great card based ones. My favorites would be Astro Knights and Sentinels of the Multiverse. But there are several others like Aeons End, Marvel Champions and so on :)

    If you did see world ending super attacks in monster hunter you didnt get to end game. All the upper difficulty monsters in master rank have big finisher flashy moves.

    I just wish I could’ve gotten this with the monsters as discs, and I’m not a “mini hater” or anything, but it just seems like they could’ve had the entire game in a single box like that, and it’s already decently abstracted.
    Since you brought up wave 3, are you going to do discussion for the Gamblers Chest?

      That’s a good idea. A “standee” version would’ve made so much sense for this game.
      We are! We’re currently in the middle of a campaign for that so once we finish it, we’ll do a discussion for wave 3

    Havent gotten to play Middara yet :D But in Gloomhaven one of the worst aspects were the boss fights in my opinion. We have started frosthaven and have done the first boss fight so far which was much more interesting than anything in Gloomhaven so hope they keep that up.
    For something that has dungeon crawler gameplay but feels more boss battler ish in how enemies are unique you should look at Sword & Sorcery

      Yea, the boss fights in GH and FH weren’t anything too special but I didn’t mind them too much. Middara takes the cake on horrible boss fights though. Lol
      I’ve played Sword and Sorcery years ago and despised it. Granted, it’s been too long I don’t remember many specifics. Lol

    Would be interesting to hear more about the difficulty level of this game. And have you checked out the nightmare deck, which is intended for more challenging encounters?

    How did you feel about token management and having to constantly remember peril/objective/stance effects?

      It wasn’t too bad but I wish they had a little token organizer like Oathsworn has. That would’ve helped a ton when needing to grab specific tokens

    My understanding on advancing the campaign is that you could fight 1 boss or all the bosses (missions), available at that time before advancing to the next chapter. Is it really just 1 boss per chapter?
