- I take you on a tour of a very wet Blackpool Town Centre on the weekend of the hugely popular Rebellion Punk Festival, which is held at the Winter Gardens. The rain clouds eventually parted for sunshine as I arrived at the promenade.

Edit: Us rockers are ok.. its the pesky Young farmers and thier weekends that you gotta keep an eye out for trouble 😄
Thankyou for pinning my comment ❤
Hi Stephen another great video , weather for ducks today 😀
Hi 🙋♀️ great as usual thanks 🙏
I remember as a kid back in the 80s there was a Mods and Rockers meet, the pubs along the prom were packed with motorbikes parked outside or scooters.🏍🏍🏍🛵🛵🛵
Loved the trip on the bus from the zoo to the tower! Wish we had been on it!! X
Hi Stephen..great vid as always and ooooh we do love a bit of greggs 🌻
I'm not really a big fan of Greggs, but I was starving lol.
Thank you nice walk.
Great to see the old trams still in operation
Great video Steven, lovely words about the Punks, you are spot on, I've been a few times and the atmosphere is always amazing and friendly, and I love how some of the Punks bring their kids too
What nice video of Blackpool. Hello West Yorkshire nice weather nice in Blackpool is cool today

Good to see the winter gardens renewing the conference facilities hopefully the big conferences IE the TUC and labour party etc come back to, for me the spiritual home of the conference Blackpool winter gardens
Great vid 👍
Great video Stephen, you should approach the Rebellion Punk people and ask them a few questions about the festival. All the best mate!
Same here in Failsworth, Oldham - Warm but wet - just like the beer !
Hello fellow Oldhamer, I'm in Springhead 😊
@@rebeccagreensides5119 Hello Rebecca - Hope you're keeping dry lol !

It really was rain and shine and nice tram as well I’m looking at booking a heritage tram pass all thanks to you and a big thank you for all that you do Stephen 🚋 🌧 ☀️
Looks like your dressed for a blizzard! 😂😂😂😂😂
Ps sad to see the ABC gone, lovely building...Bette Davis appeared there once, one of them meet, great and interview on stage etc
Enjoy your vids mate, keep em coming.
Great vlog Stephen, great to see the new & the old buildings & personally I prefer the Heritage Trams 🚎 to the new ones , those made Blackpool iconic as well as the tower & piers 👍🏻😎
What a day from Sunday when it was sunny and busy x
Great video call out to two Blackpool punks dirty b and camo Hawkins 👍👍
Hey Stephen so surprised to see the Blue Room is still there. When I was a student at Courtfield Catering College over 50 years ago and under age, we used to sneak in there and we thought we were bold having a half shandy. Changed days now 😉
It's owned by the same family that own the Rose & Crown. They are both excellent pubs.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Could be wrong but I thought Joe Longthorne had something to do with running The Blue Room years ago.
Hey I'm surprised also! Used to go there 40 years ago when I was 16. Moved away the year after
@@moodyguymick I don’t know about that. It’s now owned by the Wynne family.
enjoyed the walk 🚶♂️👌☺😊
Gonna warm up this week apparently...down here in London the same mate!
RAIN 🌧 THEN MORE RAIN 🌧
Here in Blackpool on my holidays
You do a great job in promoting Blackpool. During our stay, we saw tram 147 and need to book on line.
A washout here too!
As a elechicken and a ex rail fitter i really really like the old trams the brushed motors soundtrack, there was a battery tram that rotted as a football pitch stand be nice for the tram network history tour, day 1 to present
That was a really pleasant surprise Stephen me mum and dad had holiday flats on 50south king st,happy memories I lived in Blackpool from 6ish to me late teens I'm 60 today and it feels like yesterday yet so long ago, warbreck hill high school, fishing on the old North pier jetty, the nightclub that was facing the bus station late 1970s,I went back 10 year ago after me parents had passed,I couldn't get over how run down Blackpool had become, same in Morecambe where me children live, thanks for sharing the video buddy really took me back, the place seems so quite now holidaymaker wise, keep up the good videos Stephen,I live down south now in Bristol last 25 years, but always be a northerner.....stay safe..
Blackpool was a very popular destination for US soldiers in the WWII.........
Yes it was.
Wish they come back like to meet a american soldier
@@samholden4171 hahaha, too late hunny.......i imagine american soldiers sourrended of blackpool girls......havin fun, dancin, just chillin out.....what about u?
Papas at one time was called the ships wheel and it was a fish and chip shop about 20 years ago
I was a teddy boy years ago best mate a punk.
Never judge a book.
We are all human 🙂
Punks hate the rain it messes with the hair do's.
I remember that back in the olden days 😄
thank
Sorry Stephen was a bit behind on your videos thanks for including the Syndicate much Thanks get yourself a drink with this paypal donation
That is awesome. Thanks!!!
Hello again yeah I know it's raining my daughters there for the day
The Punks are fab group of people due to illness I have blackouts n memory loss I had seizure few years back in center of town during the festival most people just walked by or judge me as be on drugs or drunk I came out of my blackout to find five or six punks around me check ing I was ok they even took me to hospital As I refused to go n stayed to make sure I was ok n refused cash as thank you or even taxi fare there 👍
Nice one.
UPSTAIRS @ THE ROSE & CROWN is the "new" TACHE.....since the original was demolished for Sainsburys etc etc...home of METAL n HEADBANGERS....well whats left of em ;-)
Thanks.
Nice to see that the Rebellion Punk Festival has been allowed to be held this year, even at short notice. It's such a popular event. Punks generally are well behaved, even though some people will be frightened of them just by their hairstyle and dress-sense haha. You'll much more likely to get trouble from people frequenting standard night-clubs that play popular music, than you'd ever get from the punks. The Tache rock/alternative club is upstairs the Rose and Crown pub, but you can't beat the original The Tache club opposite the original bus station. I used to go there quite a bit around 30 years ago. The days when the music played in there was really awesome and so varied. It really was the place to go back then. If they hadn't have demolished it, then I bet it would still be there today. A tragic loss. In a way, I think they are just trying to modernize too much in Blackpool and I am not a supporter of that. It takes away quite a bit of the character of the resort. That new tram-link from the promenade to the old Wilko building on Dickson road is a total waste of money. Haven't people got legs?? It's not that far to walk from the train station to the promenade to catch a tram, and whilst people walk down Talbot road, they may spend money in the shops there, but with a tram link now, they'll just bypass the shops on Talbot road and even Abingdon street, which isn't going to help business to be honest. Just more change and expense that could have been avoided, and so it goes on >>
Yeah I remember the Tache and Barney Rubbles. I never went in them, however. I do have some pictures from the regeneration but I didn't get any pics of the buildings before they pulled them down unfortunately.
Great Videos, I hope you will be covering Alex Bellfield when he does his show on the North Pier.
I’m hoping to go to the show. If not, I’ll give it a mention.
Great video again Stephen. We went to Papas in Whitby in June, the fish and chips were amazing!!👍
Had me worried mentioning Rebellion was on as I got tickets that I bought two years ago. Even had to check the website as already got an email saying cancelled again. Only a one-off event in Winter gardens.
As usual love your videos, never been to Blackpool but you have a way of making it attractive, so thanks and keep filming !
Glad you like them!
Didn't know it was back on need to pay a visit
Another great video walk Stephen, and rain or shine Blackpool always looks great 👍 loved the heritage tram 🚋 keep dry and warm 😀 Pauline from Blackpool living in Canada 🍁
Hi Pauline👍🏻
Rick from Canada now living in Blackpool!
Another great video. The old punk in me would love to attend Rebellion festival, next year's line up is fabulous, but sadly probably too much for my legs. The Brew room is a fantastic pub. Papas fish & chips in Cleethorpes is brilliant. A bit pricier than others, but better quantity & quality. I've heard good things about Blackpool too. £5 for the tram Inc £1 booking fee for a return journey, I believe.
Surprised you failed to mention that American cop car replica!
The Blackpool Air Show was supposed to be on this day 7th August but was cancelled a few months after the announcement due to the punk weekend .... very unfair to do that just so people can get drunk all weekend! The Airshow is on the beach too am lost for words on this one!
Yes it's a shame about the airshow. I've got some pictures from a few years ago and the crowds were insane.
Love you're vids, pity they couldn't maintain n run the old trams all the time.
Great video
God spent some money on that fish and chip place
geggs sausage rolls are nice but the pound bakery is very nice too
I like the Pound Bakery better than Greggs. They do actual pies, whereas Greggs only do pasties. Far cheaper too.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool and the ham roll stuffed with smoked ham i can see me going in there more when i move up there
Im working at winter gardens atm.
Hi 👋👋👋👋👋👋
A typical Lancashire down pour.
@crazyweather steven , viva cam
Another good interesting video mate what's it like in town area + nightlife area in winter months say November to April?
Blackpool is reasonably busy all year round. It's only the winter week nights when it can be quite dead.
great vid again stephen cant wait for the mask free illuminations ,hope to be over in october ,all the best from rainy derby
Must have been a lot of flattened mohicans with all that rain lol
ok
Sad to see the Anti terrorist Bollards, sign of the times I suppose, will they be with us forever??? Shame they can’t be made more aesthetically pleasing by a quality graffiti artist or just painted in pastel colours. Another great video Stephen thank you !!!
Please go past the Melville x
I don't know where that is.
Did you by accident call Frenchman's Cove 'Fisherman's Cove'.
You went to a Rebellion Punk Festival and you didn't wear your bondage trousers and studded leather jacket? Seriously though, great video. I haven't been to Blackpool since 1996. I bet it's changed a fair bit in all those years.
great vlog stephen..thanks for the upload..my friends in blackpool tonight do you know if they will be testing the illuminations or what colour the tower will be
The Tower usually changes colour constantly. They might test the illuminations if your friends are lucky.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool about what time would they test them if they did
@@johnnybgood1977 Dusk.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool ill keep an eye on skyline webcam..thanks
Do you do shout Outs? I want to wish my husband a happy birthday for this Tuesday coming 10th August to David Dutton from his wife Gina in fleetwood
It would be nice if you could say this to him on Tuesday if you can many thanks Gina
It's best to contact me via my website. The link is on my UA-cam home page, bottom right of the Hartes banner.
Brill video! I've got a question and that's do you know what's happening with the big Poundland opposite what was KFC and WHSmith? It's been closed since about this time last year and hasn't opened since. Cheers!
I don't know about that, but I'll keep an eye on it.
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool Cheers!
Omg when did syndicate go and the Orange shop?
Syndicate came down in 2015. Probably same time the Orange shop went.
I wouldn’t like to be getting married today in this bad weather in Blackpool you will be pissed wet though!
There's not a lot of places in Blackpool that are disable friendly, are there ?
There must be better sausage rolls to be had in Blackpool?
I'm sure. I'm not a big fan of Greggs anyway. After coming out I noticed the Pound Bakery & wish I'd gone there instead.
Where would you recommend taking someone on a date in Blackpool serious question
Top places are the Vintro Lounge, Bloom Bar and the Beach House Bistro. Cheaper places would be the Gurkha buffet and Michaels Indian restaurant
@@AWalkontheWildSideBlackpool thank you
Won't go up the Tower..
Won't go the end of the pier.
Spends hours here.
Conference centre building is terrible…….
thanks for showing me what a dump Blackpool is think ill stick to skeggy
Maybe I'll come over that way and do your back streets!
