      God bless your heart. You've made a choice that I came close to and just thought "i should first try this" and got a Creality CR 10 Smart Pro. Its not a bad printer by the way but it frustrated me so much now I'm paying the price and getting the Bambu. Two is better than one for sure but this was a painful realization that my research is always right! Happy for you though! You're going to skip a LOT OF PAIN so be grateful whenever there is a problem that you are not having 70% of what EVERYONE ELSE is having :) It isn't that easy to be happy about fails so PSA :)

    I just got my X1C this last weekend. I was blown away. Its really something you have to see in person to believe the speed at this thing prints at. You really want to impress put in Ludacris mode. I REALLY hope they plan on making a larger print volume because I would buy. Last thing I want to say is, I want to commend them on having parts. Lots of people concerned with "closed garden" they are offering parts for VERY reasonable prices. Hats of to the engineering team over at BambuLab they have won me over on anything they make,

    I found a REALLY handy tip regarding the cool plate: instead of putting gluestick on it I simply spray a little windex (blue glass cleaner) and wipe it around with a paper towel and let it dry (you're not drying it with a paper towel, just making the coating consistent). This leaves a residue that the print adheres to well, but still comes off without damaging the surface. Way easier, less mess, cheaper, and best of all: it works better!

    • @420247paul
      @420247paul Рік тому +1

      you just cleaned the bed, yes a clean bed sticks really well but i doubt windex left a coating because thats kind of the whole point of windex not leaving streaks and all

    I wish they still had the X1 (non C) available. I have the X1C, but wanted a second printer for abrasives like CF-12/6. So the P1P isn't going to work. They had a middle ground for under 1,000 which they removed from their lineup.

    Just had my X1C after about 3 weeks of using an Ender 3v2 Neo! Don’t have a lot of 3D printing knowledge but even from a novice, the printer is just phenomenal! It’s basically plug and play and has all the extras that you didn’t even know you needed! Worth the extra bit of cash just for the fact that I can spend less time tinkering and more time printing! Just need to wrap my head around bambu slicer now and get some of my own prints on the go💪🏻

    Nice to see a 3d printer reviewed on your channel. I jumped really late into 3d printing last winter with a used ended 3s1pro which is really good and fast too. But man was it a learning curve once I geeked out about installing Klipper on a virtual linux box to get more advanced features. But after some weeks of intensive playing around my printer now has the ability to send me status updates via his own telegram channel, I got an webcam mounted there of course, can have it use pressure advance, input shaping and get decent speeds via that as well.
    Would be interesting to see if those turnkey printers are easy to operate over time as well. Recently I got into some frustration with petg and my bed being not really level. Works fine on most other filaments tho.
    So, now I need to get in contact with bambu pr dept. as well ;)

      Yea mate it’s both very rewarding and drives you nuts. Iv been printing since 2014 and have discussed it here and there but not as much as I will be. Tbh it’s been a crazy journey and I have an S1 with Sonic pad as well and it’s a very capable printer when you get it sorted. It will damn shift with Klipper as well. The real interesting thing on the Bambu is it just works. Its iPhone of printing. It’s great to see printers finally get to this stage. I think I have had 7 printers now and they all are their own animals so me way or another. I’m also looking at a sidewinder X2 right now to.

    It will be interesting to see what happens now that the warranty period has expired for more and more machines and you can't get any help locally, the risk is that you have a $2000 paperweight.
    I can buy the K1 series in my local computer store, which means easier handling when problems arise and not least a 3-year warranty.
    The fear of being stuck with a $2000 paperweight outweighs the urge to buy a Bambu.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Рік тому +1

      So your willing to trust a brand new product that’s got close to zero real world reliably info yet won’t trust a product that’s been out a year. In some ways Crealty offering a 3 Year warranty could be seen as a bad thing. The K1 looks super interesting but it’s got a lot of real world use that needs to be done before we know how well it will hold up. I see zero reason to be concerned on the Bambu. This thing is like a tank and this week Bambu also listed the rails assembly as available as well for under $100. That’s more than reasonable too. Yes there will be wear and tear but there is a people with a LOT of hours with zero issues and things like fans ect are easily replaceable.

    • @dejedejsson
      @dejedejsson Рік тому

      @@MadRC That's the great thing about being able to buy local, we have very strong consumer laws here, so that doesn't worry me the slightest!
      it's the law that gives me a 3 year warranty and has nothing to do with creality, the same thing would have been for Bambu, maybe that's why they don't want to sell their machines locally here!
      Friend, you should read a bit in the reddit threads about how reliable the Bambu machines are and not least how extremely variable the quality of their support team is.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Рік тому

      I think there will always be good and bad support feedback as they have grown so much. There is no question they have had some growing pains as well but it’s not terrible. It will be interesting to see how the K1 stacks up over time that’s for sure. I’m hoping to get one soon as well.

    • @Tom--Ace
      @Tom--Ace Рік тому

      Australia also has very strong consumer laws yet the bambu labs printers are available here locally from bambu AU
      I might also add - why talk about warranty when most printers have so many issues you practically need the warranty from day one? If parts fail on the bambu, spares are available and aftermarket spares too

    • @dejedejsson
      @dejedejsson Рік тому

      @@Tom--Ace A very confused post, do you understand the difference between warranty repair and do it yourself repair, or what do you mean?
      If you want to be in the same category as Apple and other quality consumer products, you have to develop a network of authorized service workshops where you can leave the machine both during the warranty period but also get help with repairs after the warranty has expired, Bambulab has skipped the whole that thing, usually they try to get the buyer to do repairs that should be done by them.
      It seems that the entire 3d printer industry has reached a sort of free pass when it comes to service and repairs, the manufacturers are so used to the 3d community fixing the problem themselves, but it doesn't work if you aspire to become a highly rated consumer product, which should be plug and play for everyone!

    Beautiful printer! If the volume gets bigger I'm ordering one. I'm in love with my ratrig vcore 400 but that lidar feature on the x1 looks really cool. I'm wondering if it completely takes away the tuning part.

    • @jsa2145
      @jsa2145 Рік тому

      Hi, while it's a nice feature, it can't take away all tuning. The defaults in slicer combined with lidar is pretty good, but if you want absolutely perfect results you have manual tuning to do. At least temperature tuning, then maybe fan/cooling profiles. I personally do manual calibration of temp, PA, cooling, flow multiplier and max flow rate and save it in the slicer. Then you don't have to run calibration before each print if you often use the same brand filaments ** orca slicer can create the calibration tests for you

    Silica Gel will not absorb moisture from the filament, it will absorb moisture in the air within the AMS which in turn will stop that moisture from being absorbed by the filament in the AMS unit.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Рік тому

      Yea I badly worded that.

    • @Tom--Ace
      @Tom--Ace Рік тому

      Surely that's not correct.
      By reducing humidity within the AMS, the water within the filament will be forced to evaporate out through the humidity differential.
      When drying filament we are not melting the filament, only reducing humidity, so it should work exactly the same
      The real question is whether a few silica gel packs can get the AMS humidity low enough to make a difference

    • @AndrewAHayes
      @AndrewAHayes Рік тому

      @@Tom--Ace Why not try it out, I did and it does not remove moisture from wet filament.
      I had some Nylon that I forgot to put in one of the vacuum bags that I use and so I put some silica beads in there, the ones that change colour when they absorb moisture, they did not change colour and the Nylon was spitting and popping when printing, I thought it was not working due to being in a vacuum and so I let some air in and left it for a week, the Nylon was still wet and so into the filament dryer it went!

    nice review but the part with the qualityinspection is pretty dubious. The lighting is awfull und the filament chosen does the rest. Idk of it's the normal "3d printing youtube hiding flaws"-Trick or if you just were unlucky. Next time you want to show quality: Black glossy PLA, lights perpendicular to the layers. You did chose black in your later tests. That's how you show what you got.

    • @MadRC
      @MadRC  Рік тому

      I really don’t know what your issue is. The quality is fine. There is no “intentional” hiding of anything. I just did not feel the need to go into crazy detail in the print quality as it’s fine. If you want to pixel peep then likely this review is not for you. Put the box the printer delivers really impressive results. That’s what matters.

    • @hasserecht3678

      @@MadRC If this isn't important, why showing it at all? I mean the purpose of a sample is to see anything at all. With the filament you chose you can't see any detail at all :P. Even in full resolution.
