Edwin Sarkissian did you notice on the first shot you can see the round hit all the way at the base of the mountain. It's as soon as the camera moves look for the dirt flying..
@@divoulos5758 Only if you were ultra efficient and you could have no reload time and insta-kill one person with one bullet (which is very unlikely) than this is true.
Thanks for all the fun, crazy and informative videos you post. Most of us will never get a chance to shoot these types of weapons so we appreciate you allowing us to share in your experience.
Also, speaking of the paper, first of all there are several different common paper weights ranging from less than 20lbs. to slightly over 120lbs. cover stock. No; not all weights are probably available in 8-1/2” X 11”. However, using a ream of paper with a different paper weight, would’ve probably made a ‘slight’ difference. Also; imagine explaining to the paper recycling facility why you’re dropping off multiple boxes of “used” paper. 🤔
Blue is commonly used to designate a "blank load" target round. The round is an HE round with no explosive, loaded with a material that will duplicate the ballistics of an HE round.
As a former customs officier I can say that you guys in one second damaged more paper than Yuzhno-Sakhalinsk customs department used to spend in one year!
cool video as always. However, your tsrget may contain 20,000 sheet, but it is only 10,000 sheets thick (plus wrappers and boxes). so just under 5,000 sheets to stop the blue-tip and about 7,000 for the red-tip. How many propane cylinders to stop a red-tip 20mm round?
Would be incredibly dangerous. That much steel would result in a lot of flaking/splintering, and could easily hurt someone- even if they're a safe distance away.
I promise you a 20 mm will sail through 3 inches of soft steel maybe not 6inches but if you can get ahold of a 20 mm I'm sure you can get ahold of ballistic glass to put the gun behind
You could have used old newspaper bundles instead of this unused high-quality papers when I take print out I think more than twice or thrice do I really need it. save paper, save trees, save our planet

How much do you have? When the navy was testing the DU round for the CIWS Phalanx, they made a twenty-foot frame to hold two dozen one inch thick panels of HY100 armor plate at assorted angles from vertical to almost twenty-five degrees. They fired one round at two hundred meters. The whole through the plates became progressively larger out to the last eight feet of the frame, which was never seen again. The DU round packs so much kinetic energy that metal it encounters is turned into a super sonic jet of plasma.
DU is pyrophoric and a 20mm round is incredibly energetic especially at only 200m, but I have serious doubts about its ability to rapidly sublimate metal before ionizing the resulting gaseous form. I'm no physicist, but the amount of energy required to do so would be incredible, especially considering not all of it is being "dumped" on impact.
I saw the slow motion footage of the test as part of my training. The DU round is about the size and shape of the end of my pinky finger. But since it is DU the projectile DOES NOT deform at impact. And the impact energy is what blasts through the target. I also watched impacts on live fire targets through my own binoculars. It was easy to spot by the jets of flame coming out of the exit holes. The Navy has dropped DU from the inventory. They claim environmental reasons, which is bullshit, the fact is DU is twenty times more expensive than tungsten. But Tungsten will deform and has a lower melting point.
Jets of flame doesn't mean plasma, though. DU is pyrophoric by nature and what you're describing could easily be that phenomena in effect. DU isn't necessary for the role the CIWS fills, frankly. The tungsten rounds are adequate for the role and Phalanx has been replaced in a lot of its niches over the last few years regardless.
Mark, dismissing the risks of Depleted uranium munitions seems absurd as the metal is toxic and more so if the munition hits a target and creates uranium oxides which can be breathed in or infect wounds and have wide environmental impacts.
Daniel Kennedy he is our Elmer Keith. He surrounds himself with the most amazing people, then steps back and lets others outshine him. But without him they would never shine so brightly. I have become more and more impressed with him over the years.
Nice video! I actually thought it would go deeper, however that’s still lots of paper. Can a person purchase and own a 20mm in United States, or does it require a FFL, even if single shot or semi auto, just curious? Not that I could afford one anyways.
Shame the original intent of the 2nd amendment was any arms, including cannons, all siege weapons, puckle gun, mortars, the rapid fire repeating rifles of the time, etc. The corruption of men has perverted the intent of the Constitution to provide for a well equipped ("regulated" in 1700s language) citizen militia.
At 2:38. It amazes me that the one guy owns a 20 mm cannon, but doesn't have a pair of pliers and instead uses a pocket knife and 2 flathead screwdrivers to pull out the base of the cartridge lodged into one of the paper packs.
Rip through it. Also bullet stopping power depends on muscle mass and bone strength. But a 50cal would burrow a hole and create a nasty wound in the process. One most wouldn't survive. But that as well depends on where it hit ya

5000 sheets per box, but those are two stacks of paper side-by-side in each box, so each box represents 2500 sheets of paper from top to bottom.
Exactly!
Only firing through 10 reams not 20.
I think there are 10 packs of 500 in each box. But the way he positioned them made that he was shooting the edge of the paper and not the surface.

Hot, but not that hot. The heat is quickly dispersed through the air and as it enters the target.
So the perfect armor is six a foot thick wall of paper sandwiched between Titanium walls.

20mm is larger than .50 caliber so an FFL/permit for a 'destructive device' would be required
