Girl, rule of thumb is to use the size of paint brush that fits your project. In other words, this would go much quicker and smoother for you if you use a larger brush...at least 2 - 3". Cool project and a great tip. I never think to look at the clearance section at Hobby Lobby.
😂 I was thinking the same thing as I was editing.... I keep tiny brushes in my craft space, and big ones in my garage work space.... need to merge the two. Thanks for the reminder. :)
What a great idea of using 90% off! So right in doing things in increments…I did a couple hours outside yesterday and boy does my arms tell me not to do that again!

I've never seen that crackling done, didn't know it was a thing now! Lol. It looked pretty easy too! We don't have Hobby Lobby here in Canada but I live about an hour away from the Washington border and I do go across the border on occassion and when I do it's a must to visit Hobby Lobby and Joanns! And always Applebees for lunch! Norrine you still look young but I know what you mean about not being able to do the things you could do even 2 yrs ago! Enjoyed the video and thanks for sharing! 💜

Hobby lobby clearance is the best. I have bought many blanks for my craft projects. The day after covid when the stores opened again I went to hobby lobby and they were marking all the spring items to 90% off. OMG I filled 3 carts and only spent 200.00. I had well over 2000.00 worth of items. I won't have to buy supplies for a long time. As a crafter I'm always thinking out side the box. Noreen, this is such an amazing idea! I just got a door sign from HL where you swap out the "O" for holiday pieces for $4.11 because there was a small chip in the board. All I have to do is use some wood putty to fix it! I love a good deal❤

I'm in the process of a backyard (and front yard to some degree) landscaping project. I have to pace myself too because it stops being fun when it turns into a chore. Looking forward to not only my own finished projects but yours as well. I love gardening.

You absolutely need to use a timer..... work 15-20 min and then take a break and assess if you are up to another 10-15 min or not. Listen to your body, and give yourself grace!!! oxooxox
I do the same exact thing, I buy up the 90% off signs and refurbish them. I have a couple of big ones like this as well and recently got a Wecreat, love being able to make the letters and words I want.

Very nice! I used this technique back in the mid to late 90's in my hair salon on the chair rail. It was so fun to do. I have also upcycled 90% off items from Hobby Lobby, and they turned out amazing. I love to upcycle.

Great idea. I got a long skinny sign from DT that I was going to do kind of the same idea, but after having it on the porch about 2 weeks, it just fell apart. The frame fell off and now I need to put it back together. That brad nailer would come in handy for this.
Or a staple gun...... if you have that!

I got a ton of happy planners for $3.50 each. Just the rings alone cost more than that so it was a great deal and I can cannibalize them in the future for parts or white out dates and use them going forward.

Yeah I’m whipped from two sessions of weeding maple seedlings in my flower beds. I tried using preen but it didn’t help at all with all the seeds the city maple tree puts out each year.
I have a love hate relationship with my garden. LOL I love being out there, but not when the weeds get ahead of me!
