In this video I show you how to get the volcano manor Somber Smithing Stone 7 without going around. This is on the patch 1.04.1 of the game and for this set up I use controller and the game is played on console.
This is a very difficult skip and unless you want to do this in speedruns/challenge runs I would recommend using the stonesword keys and going around to get this somber 7.

I tried for over an hour, I couldn't get it, and I consider myself to be pretty good at skips like these.

This is the best guide out there for the jump post patch. I will emphasize how important changing the camera settings is. I tried for 20 minutes and realized I had forgot to change my camera settings. After doing so I got the jump in like 2 attempts.
Hey so ... I didn't change my camera settings, kinda forgot about that part. Still managed to get it in like 5 tries. But i tried and failed for a long time with other videos. I also stubornly did not press start in betweeen jump and run. Because I didn't get what the point was. Until I realised the camera position changes if you jupp close to a wall etc, and pressing start in between the jump and run button cancels that out and keeps your camera aligned.
P.s. Checked just to be sure, my settings are completely different. Auto rotation, wall recovery etc are all on. Still worked though. Maybe it's easier with them off

@@aoifeblack_4153 The video explains the changes you have to make. But you don't have to make the camera changes. You DO have to press start in between the jump and run button. Because if you don't, your camera position changes. And when the camera position changes it messes up the jump.
The camera settings that OP gives in the video are I believe meant to further stop the camera from changing or moving without user input.
(the camera automatically will move if it's too close to a wall etc. And when you jump in the place on the video you're too close to a wall at the top of your jump, which changes your camera direction. But if you press start in between then it doesn't change your camera angle. I tried it many times without pressing start because I didn't realize this and thought it was unnecessary, until I realized that my camera position was changing after the "ready up to run" jump. I did not however change my camera settings, which might have already been set to one that will work but I'm not sure)

Thank you! I've been trying this all day for the Somber Smithing Stone 7. I kept failing over and over bc I was just eyeballing it, no set up. For a moment I thought it was patched since all the other vids are months old. But when I saw this I got excited and I finally got it in just a few tries with your setup!

I didn't change any of my camera settings. Worked after 5 tries. Did make sure to perfectly align everything. Forgot about the camera settings. I also didn't do start in between pressing jump and run. Quickly realized that if you don't press start, the position of the camera changes messing up the jump. After I started using options and stood at the exact right place, it only took me like 5 tries or so.
That said I wasted an hour or so trying using other videos as an example. This video is absolutely perfect and works. Also has the precise place to stand etc which highly increases your chance

I never usually comment on UA-cam videos but I just had to this time. It worked perfectly for me - twice in 5 minutes of trying. (I choked so hard the first time with surprise after making it up haha!) One thing I found is that those 2 steps happen quickly and you need to press X sooner than you think after setting up the jump with X+Options+O. Thank you SO much. (Playing on PS5)

Finally!!!! On PS5 with latest updates. Thank you so much! Watched a ton of other videos and this is the one that got it for me. Definitely recommend killing the virgin from on top of the chain wheel first though. Some kind of ranged attack. For me it was the Great Glintstone Shard over and over. But definitely take out the virgin first. Don’t want to be trying to sneak around the outside and fall off after so many tries to get up there in the first place.

Thank you for the camera adjustment and landing tips! Couldn't get sprint buffer to work with reassigned buttons, but eventually got up there.

Dude this is the best video within 20 mins i was able to do it 2 times and before i found this video i had to of done it at least 200 times nd failed horribly. The first time i got up there i freaked snd missed the stone and fell off i was so pissed but i got back up within another 5 trys . Your the man
Hours spent, did this second attempt got knocked off by virgin. Killed virgin, jumped back up. You are a legend.
Bruh the biggest takeaway from this was jump and hold circle. you don't need to open options that's dumb. just get close to where he is, X then O mid-air, two steps, and jump. Thanks again
For anyone that doesn't know. There's a great ash of war, Royal Knight's Resolve if you go through the door instead of just jumping back down.
And for anyone struggling to get it, There is also determination that is only 20% less than RKR. So that is also an option for those like me who can't get to Royal Knights Resolve just yet lol

Thank you so much man!! It worked after like 5 tries. I tried an hour before that lol. No other video worked except yours. Also the easiest way to do it. The dot on the metal is hard to see, so I would suggest everyone use a torch while doing this. I used a lantern and torch so I could see exactly where I stood.
Also the reason why he has "jump, start, circle/b" Is because if you don't press start, the place you look changes slightly, which messes up the jump.
P.s I forgot to change my cam settings, but it seems like they are basically at default. Not much that you can change on console anyway. Not sure if I have it all the same but it still worked flawlessly for me. EDIT compared settings they are definitely different (auto rotation etc). Others claim it didn't work for them before changing the settings. So I guess maybe I got lucky.
Even after all the tips, it still took me over an hour. I was SO close to giving up, started thinking they might just have patched it, but then I finally got it. D*mn, listening to some anime ops sure helps!

Edit: Welp i don't think it's possible anymore. I felt that corner but it slid me off from it. First time attempting that jump too.

Also i found out its a bit harder with female character for some reason, but did it anyway, the hardest part is actually timing the jump after the 2nd step :) but you can't press it late nor early..

@@moldysann7083 Well i was trying to jump there for 30-40 minutes without this technique. Then i was hoping to find some help on YT and found this video which was up for just 16 hours. I followed everything step by step and did the jump successfully. I wasn't recording but you can take my word for it or the Somber stone +7 and the Royal Knight Resolve i picked up along the way. This youtuber saved me a ton of time because i wasn't able to jump there on my different characters as well so i am more than thankful for this awesome guide that allowed me to jump there on my first try :)

@@moldysann7083 just do what he does in the guide.. Set everything off that he does in settings, align compass and learn to buffer jump as he does. Align feet at the position as he does and you will be fine :)

Xbox here. Got it! Somehow the camera settings did seem to help. Suddenly my jumps were getting way closer. My method was a little different tho. Instead of stopping after the jump from the post I kept going and kept my momentum going. As a back up I also had my physiks potion on for damage reduction.
still possible! just did it today. remember, your timing may not be exactly the same as the person in the video. I wound up using slightly different positioning, but approached it methodically, and eventually got it!

Or, you can just beat the godskinned noble super easily by creating a bunch of sleep arrows, and use the serpent bow (found in abandoned cave), and the 2 imp summons. The imps hit the boss with bloodloss, you keep hitting him with sleep arrows, and he snoozes while getting killed. Then just go through the mannor and get the stone and the loot along the way. Super easy really
Out of everything I've tried in this game this is by far the hardest, over any boss. I'm awful at jump quests. Been on this for 3 hours. Been trying this method for the last hour. Maybe eventually i'll get it but good god this jump seems impossible
Use sleep pots for the boss and u will wonder how easy he can be 😁
