Scott, come to Texas in August and give it a proper test! I have a Dometic DZ75 (dual zone 75 Liter). Once the ambient gets above 90F (32C) it struggles to keep the freezer below 23F (0C). Tossing a sleeping bag for added insulation, and leaving vents clear, helps during the Texas summer. Crack those windows as it builds up heat inside the car, making the compressor work harder. Thankfully the back door of the Tacoma swings 90 degrees fully open, so I can use a slide to make it easier to load.
I grew up near Houston; so, I know humidity and don't miss it. It's humid here, too, since we're near the ocean. We saw 101°F in 2021, but "only" the upper 90s in 2022. While not quite as hot as Texas, we get enough heat to make a point. I do crack a window if I need temperature relief. I also have reflective window shades by Weathertech that make a huge difference inside the car. My "other fridge" had no issues last year with the shades up, but also no days over 100°. ;-) Take Care!
On the mirror thing, if you set your side mirrors slightly wide of the vehicle you get both better blind spot coverage and a decent rear view as long as the car following isn't less than 4 feet from youe bumper.
HAHA! Just about. I'm experimenting with the fridge being longitudinally mounted so that I can access both sides of the fridge from the driver's side rear door. It may still be oriented that way in my follow-up video. Thanks for visiting!

Yup. And those really hot days are the days you really need cold drinks etc.

Thanks for commenting. I do still appreciate being able to see out of my rear glass. Driving an RV or cargo van would be an adjustment. ;-)

If your fridge was any bigger then you could drive it instead of the GTi.
