Matt’s such a cool guy! He helped me finish up adding functional trainer-like features to my Bells of Steel Lat Tower. Now I can do cable flies, tricep push downs, and other movements with a 2:1 ratio per handle.
@@LukesGarageGym Just watched a video from homegymcon. Apparently BoS did! They are collaborating on his designs and bringing commercials versions to market.
I what’s up my bro Luke!!💪🏾💪🏾 Longtime bro, I changed my channel name from the weight lifting geek. How have you been bro? I hope you’re doing well fam!!🙏🏾🙏🏾
Love Matt Porter's work but I'm not 100% seeing the utility of this exact setup 🤔. That cable tower you're using already has a height adjustable pulley with dual pulleys to allow you to switch between a 2:1 or 1:1 ratio, so can't you just do a lat pulldown by using that spreader plate to combine the two pulleys (to use it in 1:1 ratio mode) and putting the pulley in the top position without the extra attachment that Matt made? You could also then attach a leg-holder attachment directly to the upright instead of using a seat belt since the cable isn't in the way like it is with the setup shown in the video. This is basically what I do on my all-in-one functional trainer + rack combo unit and it works great. I do have to put my bench in decline and sit on the lowered head because the highest pulley position on my rack isn't quite high enough and I'm a little tall, but it works great otherwise and if you're shorter or have a taller rack/cable setup you wouldn't even have to do that, or you just sit on the floor if you don't have a decline bench. Not trying to be a hater or anything, maybe I'm missing something obvious that makes a big difference 🤷♂.

Porter is awesome🎉

Very cool, LGG!
@@HomeGymHacksandReviews such a great addition!
@@LukesGarageGym I also got to give a shoutout to Porter and Force 6.
I was thinking of doing the same with my Rep Athena, to add a foot extension I have lying around.
@@-Cristian_12 sweet idea!! I saw someone do that on the facebook group!
Porter has some cool stuff. If it would be a little refined looks wise itd be fantastic
@@Ice_Box_Gym he does! We are going to tweak mine and do more content on it down the line!
You keep saying custom these were scrap parts to just get a proof of concept. It was supposed to work like a crane to adjust starting height
Who makes that cable tower?
Get RXd!
Bells of Steel needs to hire that guy. I would totally buy those designs, but I'm not sure I trust the build on a diy piece
yeah! I didn’t mention my measurements were off so when he sent the scraps we had to find a way to make it work 🤣 his real design is 1000x better lol
