The great JCW Brook who wrote a number of weird/supernatural radio plays in the 1970’s and early 1980’s for the BBC Radio 4. Little is known about him. His plays like doppelgänger , a dream of murder and jonas have all similar themes. There are usually two main couples involved, with a dominant overbearing husband and a submissive wife as one couple. A male or female character is a vociferous sceptic when confronted with supernatural evidence. They are all strange, nonsensical and wonderful to listen to.
Here's a short synopsis from the BeeB "Adam and Jane are off on a make-or-break second honeymoon; but at Oxford station Adam sees his possibly dead mother. Then at the hotel he meets Beth, a 25-year-old girl with the mind of a child of seven, who looks like Jane.... "a doppelganger is your other self - your dark brother of myth, who wishes to take your place in this world..." JCW Brook’s spine-chilling drama stars Nigel Anthony as Adam Oxton, Elizabeth Lindsay as Beth Harris, Penelope Lee as Sarah Steadman, Emily Richard as Jane Oxton, Geoffrey Collins as Ralph Steadman, Mary Wimbush as the Woman and Jack May as the Man. Music by Paddy Kingsland of the BBC Radiophonic Workshop. Director: Ian Cotterell" Cheers from Canada North
This was the most confusing story I listened to. It was so nerve wracking in the beginning with nothing but arguing and confusing middle and finally the end which was hard to follow. I listened twice to try and make sense of it . This is the only one I haven’t enjoyed. The rest have been great so far.
Ooh strange and creepy, but I thought the acting was good, I just didn't understand the very end as it seemed to contradict the explanation given just before?!!🤔
Thanx Dear Uncle Chesterton-.....that was a real dead ringer for Saturday Night Entertainment.
So far, this is my favorite out of all the others ❤️

The undisputed champion in writing a synopsis! Much appreciated!
As a synopsis goes? Masterful! Intriguing, informative, puts the hooks in, sets the scene, and doesn’t blow the damn plot in the process!
God, I love Jack May

So, the writer wanted a younger wife. 😂😂
