Wow. What an amazing song written by Parker Lundgren. I've said it many times before but he is the ONLY newer guitarist who came in after DeGarmo left who "gets" what Ryche is about. Plus the fact that he's 20+ years younger speaks volumes about the guy. He and Todd have undeniably played a huge part in resurrecting this band.
What makes you say that? Unless he is writing music anybody can play guitar that good. There are 6 million guitar players out of work. I can play anything QR on guitar and sing Geoff Tate pretty good but I am not throwing myself out there.
It fits so many lives. Mine included. Being a decent person comes with a price, because others see you as easy to walk on. But, don't let it change who you are.
I don’t think that Todd sounds like Geoff, but why should he? He is talented in his own right. I will forever be a diehard Geoff Tate and old school Queensryche fan, but I can certainly appreciate the gifts of others
For me he enunciates and has tonal similarities as Geoff. But he does a great job carrying the band. I was very impressed when I heard him live, I came in very suspicious of a man trying to replace one of the greatest singers. He passed the test.
Hey, Andi and Micheal are both gods and they both are Helloween. After I walked away from Queensryche when Tate left (seen em 5 time, worn their symbol in my neck for over a decade) I'm seeing them tomorrow with Priest, as soon as I decided to hear Todd, he's also amazing in his own right!
i lost one of my best friends a month ago, and he was one of the biggest queenryche fans, now that i hear this excellent song hes final days i can relate this song he was in this Dark Reverie and i can't not help him,,,, :( SPEAK OUT!! RYCHE FOR HELP.......BE SAFE BE HEAVY
there was this beauty of silent lucidity echoing in the 90s & now they gave us another anthem for the millennials. thanks queensryche for beautiful song.
Omfg....Queensryche has been my fave since I was 13 (now 42). I just happened to come across their new songs and am sweating bullets with fucking craziness!!! This man is Tate all over again. As much as I will always love Geoff, this singer is unbelievable. I am still shaking over the excitement of it all!
Was going to say this is the best Queensryche song since...then having listened to it about 20 times I'll simply say it's one of their finest songs ever. Fantastic song!
IMHO. This album is the best album I've heard since Mindcrime. I don't mean Just Queensryche albums. For me this the best album I've heard since 1988. Period. Now, discuss amongst you. I agree with Thommy in that Parker and Todd fit better than any before them. BTW. I am the biggest Geoff Tate fan. He was simply the greatest of them (vocalists) all.
damn... been a fan since rage for order..i remember hear in the now frontier is my last cd of them..but now, this song just melt my heart as i remember the past..good luck for you guys!
I’ve been a fan since the first ep, I saw them live the first time when rage came out, they were supporting Bon jovi, we didn’t give a shit about jovi, we just wanted QR 😀 I love this too btw 👍
I have listened to this several times and hear something new with each listen which makes me listen again to me that is a sign of a killer song ,,Way to go Queensryche you did it again with all members created something amazing and beautiful !! Way to go Parker I hear you wrote it and just Wow !!!
I get really tired of people comparing Todd to Geoff, and new Queensryche to old. This is Queensryche now, and I am still a fan cause they have reinvented themselves, after a lot of struggle and drama. I have loved them since they're debut album, I am so glad they have worked so hard to keep going, truely a blessing for real Ryche fans. Michael signed my Gibson SG in Phoenix Arizona it is a very special guitar to me. Thanks so much for that!
Absolutely! Queensryche is back firing on all cylinders and I don't know if I'm more excited for them or myself, but I do truly believe that Condition Human is quite possibly their best work yet. So I am super fired up about The verdict.
I believe if a rock n' roll can reinvent themselves within a change-up in personal - especially with a different vocalist but have the same vision as before - but also a different format then I'm hooked only the band modulate's - takes their music up a to a KO i.e. knock out! Jimi V
@Johny Rocket I appreciate your opinion. But I think if your a member of Queensryche or any band with a unique tone, you have to find someone who can fill the shoes. I'm still a Queensryche fan. Queensryche is a great band I think possibly better today than before. I don't compare the two. I either like what a band puts out or I don't. Condition Human is one of their best albums to date. Just my opinion.
Honestly, Todd and Geoff are like two sides of the same coin, their voices are similar but I couldn't imagine Tate singing this. Todd's voice much better matches their modern work just as Tates voice much better matched their work in the '80s. I couldn't imagine Todd doing the 80's stuff and I couldn't imagine Tate doing the modern stuff and let's just leave it at that.
Wow! This without a doubt is Queensryche’s best album since Todd joined. Love this track most of all, because it really hits home. I’ve felt this way many times before and it really is very personal to me, but it makes you realize we hurt, we all bleed and make mistakes in life. The key is to never give up hope, and things will get better with time.
Queensryche is BACK! The energy and the vibe of this single. Just crazy. They also added keyboards to this. One down side is Todd LaTorre's penchant for quoting nursery ryhmes a la "We all fall down". Other hits are OPEN ROAD and many others. Each new album is a stark improvement from the last!
This song can comfortably sit on the same pedestal with Queenryche's best work ever. Recently saw them with Fates Warning in Fort Lauderdale and my only disappointment was this masterpiece was not in the setlist. What an incredible song.
I’ve been a fan since first hearing Queen of the Reich in 1983 - this song is fantastic and right up with all the best stuff Queensryche has put out over the years. Todd’s voice is incredible.
This song really hits some notes.... great work, great lyrics and great voice. First song from this Queensryche that i can say it really impact me. thanks
My god this song is like classic Queensryche. I too when i heard it thought Geoff got back with the band but Todd is amazing. I will continue to support this band. I also heard a couple other tracks & i think you guys are incredible. You have a lot of fans so please keep on rocking! Todd you are perfect for this band, be well! God bless you all for making great music.
This is what we wanted from Queensryche for the last 20 years. This album and the last one are amazing. Todd is just awesome! I love this current lineup and it’s a return to their true form.
That guitar work is reminiscent of DeGarmo. PL gets it spot on. TLT howls like a madman on this one. QR reborn. The Degarmo/Tate era was legendary but these 2 boys are something unique.
Best song on their best album since Empire. That's saying a lot because both Promised Land and OM II were great. Thank you Parker and Todd for keeping one of my all-time favorite bands alive and well.
The drummer should be striking the drums and cymbals EXACTLY the same way he strikes the final cymbal. Throughout! Guitars, Bass, vocals all there man! Vocals actually stunned me how great it is. They used to have a great drummer. You wouldn't need to tell him how to strike the drums. Everyone in this band they're all so unique in the way they perform. Except the drummer , he sounds like every other drummer on planet earth in this band. Just keepin time
This song is so deep and powerful. Haunting guitars and awesome melody. Todd really delivers the feeing of sadness, hurt and anger of losing someone in his vocals. Excellent song by Parker! I keep listening to this and love it more and more with every listen.
I love everything Queensryche put togheter with Todd, but this one is my all-time Todd La Torre favourite song... I have tremendous respect for Parker Lundgren, I dearly miss him!
.....March....will check it out! Different band, but give these guys a chance, people. Silent Lucidity still gives me the chills at this old age of 52. HAHA. Would love to see a rock and roll comeback to the mainstream. New music, pop, top 20s, etc...have been mostly trash for the last Twenty Years. Few exceptions, IMHO. CHEERS TO LADY GAGA, AKA JOHANNA, AND BRAD COOPER FOR THEIR PERFORMANCES THOUGH. WILL GET ON BLURAY OR DVD.🤗 LOL, I HEAR THAT DVDS ARE GONNA BE ON THE Way Out soon. Aaah, the old days of cassettes, LPs, VHS N....8 TRACKS!!!!!!!!! AND HUGE STEREO SYSTEMS. Enjoy! LONG LIVE PURE TRUE RNR!!!🕊🦅🤓😜
Queensryche is a band that has gone through transformations 40 yrs ... Hello Todd is great and they are still touring , gonna catch a show tonight Jannus Live St. Pete Florida, , great venue open air , holds only about 2000 people standing room only, bring you walkers
First time I heard this song it had already been playing so I only got half of it. I thought it was Altar Bridge. I kept listening thinking Altar Bridge had went Metal... lol I loved it... Before it ended I shazamed it and it said Queensryche - Dark Reverie I couldn't believe it. So I finally heard the track in its entirety and I could hear the Ryche in it almost instantly but I couldn't help but laugh when thinking it was Myles Kennedy and Tremonti... This is a great track btw... I bought it
Great song guys! Looking at all of the comments about Todd vs Geoff a couple of things. This band as a whole, is continuing to move forward as a progressive metal band. True to the roots of what we as fans have come to know and love. Geoff is playing covers of the OMC I & II albums with a couple of "pick'em musicians" in small clubs. Queensryche - the band we just saw here, is still playing venues with over 5000 people consistently. The other notable difference, (specific to front men) is that Todd has not spit in anyone's face, on purpose, while playing in Rio. Geoff had, a great voice and will be remembered for that, I have seen this band with both front men, Once with Geoff at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom and with Todd twice, at different venues in and around New England / NH. I can honestly say they are far better off and more relevant today with Todd than with Geoff. Todd is far more engaging with the crowd, where as Geoff would honestly "Look down on the fans" (I got to meet the band with Geoff) He was polite, but stuffy. Michael was AWESOME!! While think a lot of us would like to see a reunion with Chris, Parker has done an incredible job filling very big shoes. More-over, he brings a new enthusiasm and influence to the band that Michael and Eddie have embraced and the result is this new, incredibly melodic, heavy record. In short, Geoff was holding the band back, Todd and Parker are helping to bring the legacy of Queensryche to the future.
The Verdict is their best album since Empire overall. I liked Promised Land (especially the title track and Damaged), but that album has a lot more filler than people actually acknowledge. And while it isn't a concept album, I feel a lot of the lyrical content on songs like 'Light-Years', "Blood Of The Levant', 'Bent' and 'Inner Unrest' serve as a response in some ways of the philosophical and political ideas on Rage, Mindcrime and Empire through PL. Just great stuff overall.
They are coming along. This song gives me hope. Todd in fact does sound like Geoff. I didn't think anyone could replace Tate, but man Todd is food. DeGarmo is tough to replace. But it's good, solid.
There's no doubt whatsoever their 3 albums with Todd absolutely SLAYS anything the band has released after Promised Land and up until 2013, but at the same time I can't really feel "the old magic" present in the new material - and, in all honesty, I probably shouldn't expect to find it either... In many ways this is a totally new band sharing the same name as the old band. That isn't really a bad thing, but it can't be overlooked. I like the new material. I actually like it a lot, but IMHO it's not really good enough (yet) to be compared to the classic albums. Am I being unfair saying so? Probably, but everything's pointing towards QR releasing even stronger material in the future. They've improved with every album since 2013 so I'm feeling confident about their future. Rock on, Queensryche!
Best album since Empire, and its not even close. They have killer chemistry with this lineup. They've really hit their stride with this effort. Keep it up boys!

Thommy Jacobs well said. Parker is an amazing guitarist! He fits perfectly with this band!
I think the new Queensryche has been cookie cutter boring metal. But even I have admit this is a good one.
What makes you say that? Unless he is writing music anybody can play guitar that good. There are 6 million guitar players out of work. I can play anything QR on guitar and sing Geoff Tate pretty good but I am not throwing myself out there.
Angelfire
Guardian is good, but not much else stands out so much as in the earlier years.
I think both J. Slater and Kelly Grey composed some amazing songs for queensryche, but this ones good too
The "kick me when I'm down" part gives me chills every time I hear it.

This is such a beautifully profound song....it relates to human frailty which deeply touches all of us!!! Queensryche roXXX!!!
there was this beauty of silent lucidity echoing in the 90s & now they gave us another anthem for the millennials.
thanks queensryche for beautiful song.
For almost twenty years I've been saying Q2K was the last Ryche album I bought.
So glad I can't say that any more.
Gänsehaut,... was für ein klasse Song, das kann nur Queensryche so, und das seit jahrzehnten, sieht man mal von der Zeit ab als Tate den Ton angab
Every song they’ve written with Todd is a winner.
This was written by Parker Lundgren (guitarist of the band) yet this is the best song from the album

It sounds like modern Queenrÿche with a dark touch in the song.🤘🏻
It's dark alright
uh no it doesn't
Not really, I rather a more positive song but that does not mean I don't like this song, in fact it sounds nice and well thought of.
Sounds like something we would hear off Rage For Order or The Warning.

There's not even comparison between Todd and Geoff right now; The best thing happened to 'ryche the last 25 years!!
I say last 24 years, since 1,995 until now.
Keep them coming Parker.Great song.!
This song is actually pretty interesting. The main melody changes key twice, plus Todd goes for a big note around 2:51 that's pretty cool.
good band since years highest level, doesn`t matter, who is inthe band who not... yeah in the next days I will listen to more Queensryche ;)
Very relevant to last year

That's what Todd LaTorre sounds like? Holy crap, I thought that was Geoff Tate singing this song! That's awesome! Love this track!
Just fantastic! So damn excited for the album. Much love guys.
