We take waffles seriously in our house ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxUfphIgghPSpAXNq6OG2WRYsFVqylcqMn and worked our old one through many years of Sunday brunches till it finally gave out on us. Our old one only made two at a time, this one makes four! Nicely sized 1 inch thick which are lovely! Now the kids don't have to wait as long to eat our weekly waffle breakfast and everyone's are hot if we wait and eat all together! Setting 3 seems to work perfect for golden brown. Be sure to pour the batter in the center of each waffle square, not the center of the iron like the novice that posted the scorched waffles photo. About a 1/4 to 1/3 cup of batter in each seemed to work well for us. We tested making just one at a time so we could use all the remaining batter and it made it just as fluffy and golden as when we made 4!

ooh Emmy you should inject syrup into the "bubble waffle" it'll be so good

I wonder how it would taste if you put a couple of berries into each "bubble" before cooking? Then sprinkle powdered sugar when its finished.

This is like childhood for me! I remember always going to this one particular place in Toronto and sharing a waffle with my cousin while our mothers shopped. Still go to that mall from time to time when I'm visiting. I have the exact same cake pop maker so I'll be trying this out soon, thanks Emmy!

cool you could make aebleskivers in that!!!! They are like danish round pancakes, you eat them with rasberry jam or just syrup. They are a childhood fav of mine. When you make aebleskivers you put the batter in a pan that is like half your cake pop maker, you pour the batter in and then slowly turn it with a stick, you rotate them slowly till you form a ball. Those little ones you made that were just balls, look just like aebleskivers. So fun!!!!

I had an egg puff waffle for the first time when I went to Boston China Town. They had this tiny little food court inside a building and I went to get dumplings and at the end was this little cart selling egg puff waffles. I instantly fell in love with them and anytime I go into China Town I need to get some.
As for powdered egg custard. you can usually find it in any grocery store in the international section. Bird's Custard in a can.

The lexicon of arcane things I did not know existed and thus have never tried or experienced has now grown by one. Bubble Waffle! Who knew? Not I. Your effort in making them was noble. You were able to describe how they were expected to be if done right and that is what you produced. Brilliant! I would have liked to see you inject them with some whip cream. That would have been fun. :) Thanks emmie.
