This song was posted 10 years ago. I still come back. Theres something about this track that comforts me. Like a reminder that no matter how far you run from your demons, they are still there. Dormant, silent, and even if they are scary, they are also somewhat peaceful. Like gentle burnt out coals steaming behind you on the walk of life. No clue if the author even checks this account anymore. But if you do, thank you so much for this remix. I'm glad i get to come back to it when times are rough. Its my little slice of the internet.
For me, personally, this is more of a happy song. I have discovered yume nikki at the time of my life when I finally started getting everything together, and that song kind of reminds me of that times. Madotsuki's instrument is a flute, and yet in the game she doesn't really focuses on it. She just recognizes it just as a small bit of her whole personality, and that's it. And the whole game is mostly just bits and pices of her psyche that she traverses trough, mostly unemotionally. But in this song I can see her fully recognize it and even, in some form, taking pride in it. It's not just that flute itself or the random noises that it can make, now she plays a whole full - fledged song. And look at her -- she seems to be really enjoying it. What was just a mundane part of her life now is a thing for her to be proud of, to define her and to be worth living for. The song itself gives me a feeling, that, no matter how much you can show other people your inner world, you're the only one who can fully appreciate it. You're tho only one who can see it at it's fullest, to see it in all of it's beauty in all of it's details. Only you can be you, the only and the one you.
I tried listening to this while reading the final part of Kafka's Metamorphosis, it was surprisingly fitting and made it twice as sad. Ah, the power of music.
NASU! I like this song, (The flute one) because it's relaxing, so I always go to that room just to listen to it. NASU annoys me, but it's a fun game! Nice remix!
