This is the best visual explanation I have found. Being able to see what is supposed to be happening made stabbing that thing 1000 times easier. Thank you.
@@ictcamera560I had this lens just over a year got it for $45 off offer up thought it was too good to be true it took it out to a shoot... realized when I got back home it didn't seem like aperture was not adjusting has sat there since. Pawned it with my d700 was reluctant to get it back but I have a shoot next week and need my back up body so when I got it back from pawn today I saw your video. Happy to say it works now! Thank you so much good sir.
I bought one today which does not have a functional aperture ring. When I take off the aperture coupler assembly I find that the internal "feeler" simply doesn't reach. What is the easiest way to take out the aperture assembly to diagnose?
Your video has greatly helped me with assembling the lens. I still have a problem with aperture not going to its maximums , it wont go to f2.8 and wont go past f16
That coupler is not installed correctly and the aperture plate may be bent. It is really tricky to get the aperture lever from the mount correctly coupled into the diaphragm system. That is where I would check first.

Impressive and not for amateurs

I'm fairly sure I'm getting it right , I've been at it for a couple hours. Could there be another problem causing misalignment?
Pretty sure a spring came off on mine. Looks like it would be major surgery to put it back on.
The 17-35mm 2.8 aperture ring is also a headache
Very similar indeed.
