Look into the future colts fans. This is what happens when your team drafts a guy who barely plays in college and is drafted because of their ability to run. The QBs greatest asset is his mind, the second is his arm, the legs are nothing more than a bonus. Mobility does not equal potential or talent, potential is gauged by a guys mental aptitude, not by their ability to jump high and run fast.
Journalists often say: “No serious person would think Lance better than Prescott!” If right now, I’d agree. BUT, that isn’t the optimum question, or the question Jerry Jones is asking himself. It’s on which should we stake the Cowboys future on? Let’s assume Prescott. No serious person would believe Prescott would agree to a contract with the Cowboys, even for $60M, if Prescott didn’t also demand a “no trade” condition. Why? Jones could play him now and learn by the playoffs that Prescott (and team) also failed to advance. Jones could trade him to a team for high draft picks, especially a team likely to have 2025 high picks. Prescott would never want that. So, if Prescott is no longer a Cowboy’s franchise qb, who will be? There’s no high draft picks. They do have Lance and he does have lots of potential. He’s a Mahones type of run/pass option qb, not so much a pocked qb with a weak offensive line. In the third preseason game the entire team looked bad, including offensive and defensive (and qb) coaching. Lance was playing catchup the entire game after the Chargers got two long touchdowns that made the entire Cowboys look like high school players. Even the play designs were “high school.” Lance is a Mahones type of qb (pass/run options on every play). Lance had high school plays called during the game with no play/options. Cowboys need to depart from Prescott; wish him well with $60M with a team going nowhere. Hire a whole new battery of coaches, including an offensive play coach. And play Lance with the starters. I see him with that experience as a better long range Cowboys choice than Prescott. With respect, I have never seen any address the Cowboys situation as outlined.
This is not a serious take. Lance will never be good enough to start on a team with playoff aspirations. Ignoring this reality is simply delusional at this point.
@@CalledTurnAGundam Don't mean to disrespect him. He's a fine athlete and perhaps a great teammate, but he had such a brief college career that he didn't develop some of the skills needed to be an NFL quarterback, and those are hard to acquire once in the NFL -- especially given the brevity of preseason play these days.
9ers worst draft choice in decades, saved by Purdy, and it explains why you need to take away the keys from Jerry Jones. Trey is a good kid, but his trhird overall pick stutus has doomed him. He was arguably a 6th rounder, who might have been serviceable as a backup, but being picked so high, destroyed his confidence and added way too much pressure. Like I said, a terrible niners pick with such a valuable draft position. Wish him the best but doubt he’ll ever be a starter for any team now!

except AR has shown multiple times that hes already better than lance
This feels like a dogwhistle. Richardson was solid as a rookie and showed more ability than Lance ever did.
Poor guy threw picks to Chargers players who didn’t even make the damn team.
No picks vs Raiders starters tho
He’s ready. I see the vision.
lmao
Ready for what the ufl?
Ash Trey making folks see visions in the flames.
2:36 completely staining down his target
But, he only cost 3 first round draft picks
And a third.
Trey is looking great to the entire NFC East.
Those last 2 or 3 INTs weren’t Lance’s fault. One didn’t hold onto the ball and the other ran the wrong route.
How do you know the receiver ran the wrong route?
Where the receiver ran he was wide open. Where Lance threw was to the other team. I don't think you understand football very well.
Trey 2025 🎉 f the haters
He's done...bigger bust than wilson
He just warming up

This is the worst draft pick I’ve ever seen since being alive.
This is the all time worst trade and pick
Now is the time for him to throw interceptions.
Better here than a playoff game 5 years from now.
He will nevet play a playoff game
Are you smoking crack?
There is no 5 years from now for him.

@@vovcha01 Odds are you're right. I was speaking generally. I'd pretty much say that to any QB in TL's position.
5 picks in preseason is crazy work. The 4th one you can’t expect your boy to get manhandled on the field like that but still sheesh
Even JaMarcus Russell and Ryan Leaf managed to win a couple regular season games
I thought it was a meme until I saw the box score the next day

Try Lance is the future for the cowboys.
A starting QB should have his way in a preseason game.
Haters gonna hate
lol especially when it’s justified by Lance’s performance.
@@eddielopez2373How did Josh Allen look when he was raw like this?
The 9ers traded up to pick him 3rd overall
46 yard run shows potential looking like cam out there
And Cam couldn't throw and never won shit either. This might be a more valid comparison than I previously thought.
Is this the Dallas "all in" plan?
Geez. This guy sounds like the nerd in an 80’s sitcom
Dear cowboys fans dak does the same thing as a 8 year vet
Please reference the last time Prescott threw five interceptions in a game against used car salesmen and grocery baggers.
@@darrenkrehoff5200pick 6 vs gb ..in playoffs...even worse
Mike McCarthy doesnt have the tools to make Trey Lance good. The fact that Jerry thinks Mike does is kinda scary.
Trey Lance must be color blame he should make an appointment with an ophthalmologist as soon as possible.
He is a bum.
Trey Lance is not an NFL quarterback. He has no business playing professional football.
He also has a couple of fumbles but Dallas recovered them lol
