They hit their stride at a bad time. The industry in the US was dominated by pretty boy hair metal bands mostly thanks to MTV at the time, and these guys weren't exactly lookers. Same fate befell Cinderella (my favorite from the hair era), although to a far lesser degree. They were probably regarded as a sort of relic from a "bygone" metal era that included pioneer Brit metal bands like Priest, Maiden, Grim Reaper, etc. Ozzy was the exception because he had enough momentum from Sabbath to be as ugly on MTV as he wanted.
Anyway, better late than never! John Bush is a metal GOAT.

1984...14 years old....driving my parents crazy playing this record over and over! Still have my Vinyl record! Friends and I used to see them play all over OC and LA back in the 80's. Saw them a couple years ago in LA and still sounded great! RIP Dave you are remembered.

    Alright
    Can u deliver
    I'm overlooking you
    Laying out the question
    Think that you'll pull through
Do you know what love means
A push and then a shove
Don't put the thought around me
    I'm coming from above yea
Me I'm just a young soul lookin
    For a good time tonight
You want it to last forever
I don't have that in sight no
Seems to be the same old story
You get 'em once and they fall at your knees
    I wish that I would've known better
Before I played the dirty deed
    Not romance to me
    It's just the fever
    Here's your chance to please
Can u deliver Can u deliver, can u deliver, can u deliver
It's a shame to take your dreams
    And chain them to reality
    I don't listen anymore
    Action is what I need
    Not romance to me
    It's just the fever
    Here's your chance to please
    Can u deliver
Can u deliver, can u deliver, can u deliver
Can u deliver, can u deliver, can u deliver
    Can u deliver
    Deliver to me

Thanks for the post, I f%^cking love it! It's been a long time, I watched this back in 1986 when I lived in Garland Texas. I miss this crap, big time. I grew up, like everybody else, and moved on with life. I sure miss when we didn't have to care and travelled everywhere to hang out with our favorite bands!

Captains log. An unusual mythological warrior seems to encompass the sky. This power seems to give the humanoids a intense sensation of musical ability what they call heavy metal. The sensation is so powerful that even Spock a Vulcan 🖖 can not control himself.

      *****
No they don't play Anthrax and Anthrax doesn't play songs from his era well maybe 1 time they played Only with Joey, John has said that he wants to do a solo tour eventually playing Anthrax songs since no one wants to play them and he'd hate for them to just die off like that.

+David Bell are you kidding me? the 80s were full of rock love songs the power ballad was invented in the 80s! plus rock has always had love songs if anything there are less rock love song because there are less rock bands

    • @davidbell5484
      @davidbell5484 8 років тому

Power ballads may have been used more in the '80s by a lot of hair bands. The Scorpions were jamming out power ballads sense the '70s. I enjoy some of the power ballads. I think hard rockers should leave love songs to artists like Neil Diamond, Joan Baez, etc. This is the music I first started listening to. I love music from classical to death metal. Just don't like syrupy love songs by in your face rock bands. Early Aerosmith I really enjoyed, early KISS( I know Beth). They were in your face, then BOOM radio rock.
