- In the annals of the Old West, "Stagecoach" Mary Fields emerges as a formidable figure, defying the conventions of her time with unparalleled resilience and courage. From enslavement to entrepreneurship, Fields navigated a trajectory that transcended the limitations imposed by both race and gender. Stemming from her emancipation after the Civil War to her pioneering role as a Star Route Carrier, she carved a path marked by tenacity and trailblazing spirit. Beyond the rugged landscapes of Montana and the frontier at large, Fields redefined societal norms, establishing herself as a successful businesswoman for decades.
Her towering, pistol-packing presence and unyielding dedication set her apart, making her the first African American woman in the United States to hold prestigious roles dotting the western landscape. As we delve into the extraordinary life of "Stagecoach" Mary Fields, we unravel a narrative of a woman far ahead of her time, surpassing societal expectations and emerging as a symbol of empowerment for both women and Black folk in the challenging and adventurous era of the Old West.

Thank you for this great history of Mary Fields. I'd not heard of her before but her history is very interesting.
What An Incredible Woman ✌️💞🙏
What an incredible woman!
Great job; thank you
There should have been a mary fields movie
We agree!
The producers would want a skinny pretty actress, who does karate, and is involved in a love triangle (with two men), etc. Mary would get lost.
You lost me when you said " African American" - she was an American, or she was an African, she's not both.
one of the stupidest comments I’ve read in a long time, and this is UA-cam comments we’re talking about 😬
Not a lot of white peoples updated their lingo since the 90’s. Not giving him an excuse, but saying “black” in a room full of white people would get you chewed out in certain circles. But by all means continue being vocal about it if that’s what you wish.

This is just another one of the things of categories that does not make to much sense.
Was that the most important thing you noticed from this?
