Probably just out of shape due to being injured. That said , they should have pulled him when he was obviously winded and not playing well at all.
That effort he gave saturday ahould put him on the bench. Its. Discusting. He needs to go back to the lsu bench where he belongs. This play is unexceptable with a T on your helement.
I'm not a coach, but it seems like 12 man should have been used more. If our tackles aren't able to block their spots, you have to send them help. That's one reason the TE position exists, to block bigger bodies and to pound through bigger bodies and catch passes to set up the run game and deep balls. I really hope this team is awake now. You get a top 5 ranking because you've been playing sound football, you can't stop playing sound football because you have a top 5 ranking! WTF! Go Vols...beat Florida!

I don't think Coach Heupel will be letting the guys go on mini vacations during the bye weeks anymore. I watched that show they do, Gaston was talking about going to Hilton Head and some farm his family has dove hunting with his buddies and almost getting blown away in the hurricane. The other guys were talking about what all they did as well.

Yes, so true. It looks as though the offensive line was still dove hunting and when they realized they were back to playing football, it was too late, hence all the line penalties. The whole team looked out of sync. It was almost like Heupel was coaching for a different team than Arkansas. I think we’ll wake up and a couple great losses in the past couple weeks definitely helped us. If ya live in Tennessee, ya better hug a Vanderbilt fan, lol!!

I’m watching Florida playing the UCF game now and they do have some studs on defense.
@Docochoco39 I don't have a problem with them getting some time off to visit family and hunt. I have a problem with what looks like they never came back and got locked in for this game! You get to be #4 in the country because you've been locked in and rolling teams up. You don't get to take a game off or just show up and win because your #4 in the country. Again, I doubt CJH will be letting the guys treat the next bye week the same way. It's obvious they can't maintain a locked in mindset.
Had Arkansas never shown the 3-2-4 or cover 4 against prior teams ? Wasn't there ANY film time during off week ?

They wasnt ready and dialed in. Both coaches and players.
Gotta give credit to Arkansas DLine and defensive plan. They saw some ways to exploit our OLine and make life tough on pur QB. That, and they sustained long drives on offense to keep our offense in poor field position and have less chances to get in rythm.

Bull, something occurred to me and I would like your thoughts. You’re better at analyzing films than me: is it possible that the Arkansas defense was doing things specific to Tennessee that was causing our O line to get confused and as a result tentative? Not so much, Nico, but the OL itself.

Bull. Half way through this breakdown confirms what i was seeing and feeling. We DID NOT EXECUTE!! This should have been a blowout, but unfortunately, we were not in sync as a team. it was always one position group not doing their job consistently and it caused us to miss BIG PLAYS for TD's! So FRUSTRATING!!😤😤 We Lost this game!! It's on US!! But, I can still laugh at Bama fans for loosing to Vanderbilt!!🤣🤣
Nico is a freshman, and he's making freshman mistakes.
After watching this the play calling was there. The OL didn’t give Nico time to hit the shot plays. At least 6-8 TDs were left on the field.
Hard for any quarterback to throw the ball accurately when he is on his back

Looks to me like we opened up it up more a tad to late seems we could have had this game on ice a couple times and yea there were aome busts but there were also a few missed opportunities and that you cant put on play calling that my friends is execution and decision making.
That hit on Nico at 10:05 should have been a penalty. He was already sliding. That rule is supposed to protect the QB.

Nico's first read downfield is rarely if ever open. WR need to get things corrected, get off coverage, something... it's broke right now.

I don't like not giving Niko proper options He needs three reads not two and if he doesn't see the two reads his next thing should be take off... thats what hooker did best If the two receivers are not there he's taking off I don't know why they're not telling him to do that

Before i saw this been yelling all week it isnt nico its the o line tackels. We shoudl have ran 12 personal.i wanted to see wr replay to terme if wr got sepration. I thought they where not but they where dame they where getting open. This whole lost is on offecne line especially tackels and play calling

He’s been on campus for 20 months, and was expected to be a 3 and done player. He’s just not as good as advertised. That could just be because he peaked early or hasn’t been developed well, but he’s not a very good QB right now

The 10 out of 10 comment is crazy and I thought Hugh Freeze was out of pocket for his 9 out of 9 comment 🤦🏾♂️. Arkansas left plenty of points on the field. Just give credit to the opponent and move on. Other than that I enjoyed your breakdown.
I have been watching my vols for years. They have two problems and it is one of them every time they lose a game they should win.-They play 3 quarters or they are too predictable. Wake up coach and quit being so predictable and conservative and also there are 4 quarters in a game.
This is just a bad football team. They’re not well coached, the roster isn’t well managed as far as personnel and depth is concerned, and they were under prepared for this game. Unfortunately I don’t think enough of our issues can be addressed by Saturday and we could be looking at yet another loss to Florida, and if that happens the bottom very well could fall out. Hopefully we can manage to squeak out a 13-10 win against them though, but I just don’t see it. This is the worst a team has looked under Heupel, and had Oklahoma just had average QB play we’re 3-2 right now

You're crazy Arkansas beats Tennessee 9 out of 10 times. Definitely. Look at the past however many times they've played. Arkansas look like the better team. All of that analysis and you didn't take into effect any of the talent that Arkansas brought

Also, pay attention to Tyson foods and walmart... and gatorade. these are brands to avoid whenever you can!!! and I think they all have good stuff. just something to think about.

I think Arky's defense made Nico play like a freshman. Nico will learn from this and hopefully improve. Other teams will watch this film and know how to defend us. Homecooking by the refs hurt our drives at times, but regardless, we should have beat Arky.
Running out of bounds with no time on the clock is a big mistake. Gotta give someone a chance. Running OOB makes it no chance.
Halzel is trash! We will never be in the playoffs with him calling plays. Name one game that his play calling was impressive?
