We fall for the marketing and like you say the difference isn’t vast from say the V1 to the Distance although I do believe softer balls are more forgiving for newer players and the higher ball flight will be encouraging
I prefer Kirkland Signatures. Decent performance for the price. Some people complain about the durability but most amateurs will lose the ball before it gets dinged up anyway 😂
As a beginner, I remember agonising over this decision a few months ago when i took up golf, and ending up with a mid-range 2.50-ish per ball option. After the first few rounds i was straight back to squirreling away a few range balls / getting the budget Wilsons whenever on sale! Maybe i’ll spend more than 1 per ball when i can get them to last more than 5-6 holes on average!
I really only play what I find. Over the past year I played Kirklands, Prov1, Vice, Supersofts, and Tour Response Stripe. Have to say the Tour Response was my #1 by far. Happy to know when I spend my $ to stock up I found by ball of choice.
Love a soft ball, but they don't last that long before getting all scuffed up. I have been putting with the striped Taylor Made balls and it seems to help me. I know its not kosher to putt with a different ball than you tee'd off with, but with my buddies, who cares. Love the channel Mark !
Thanks! Glad you're getting on with the TaylorMades they've been really popular this season, particularly for putting, some people are even using them as training aids

the ball I use depends on how tight the fairways are. I do prefer the softer balls on the short shots though.
If the fairways are too tight or there's a bit too much water, budget balls suddenly become much more appealing 😂

Nothing wrong with that at all. Staying consistent with a cheap ball is a much better option than chopping and changing

Tour response has been a popular choice this year too, TaylorMade are having some good success with their good value balls at the moment
