    I have no problem with saying Ear or Year seperately. However, I can't hear the difference when it is a part of the other word syllables. For example, I should say "k+year" for CURE but if I say "k+ear", it sounds to same to me too. I just wish coachshanesesl would see and read this comment.

    Great! Thank you! What about the word "you"? In a normal linked speech.... does the "y" sound like "ee"? I always have been using the "ee" sound in "you", it's ok?

    • @coachshanesesl
      @coachshanesesl  10 років тому

      Rafael Rodriguez I teach that "you" has three common pronunciations:
      yoo
      yah
      y'
      "yee" would be Old English, or perhaps it is common in countries that do not speak American English!

      Pavel Soshnikov Hi Pavel! I have two online courses--one that focuses on pronunciation and listening skills, the other focuses on pronunciation and speaking skills. The listening class (DDM) has LIVE classes twice a month where you can get personal coaching from me. My speaking class, PIRF, is more self-study. You can get more information on DDM here: dailydictation.blogspot.com
      You can get more information on PIRF here: letsmasterenglish.leadpages.net/pirf/
      Let me know if you have any questions^^

    Hello Coach, Hopefully this might be a next video topic. I'm A well over 16 years of age, but I never learned how to properly pronounce all of my r's when I was younger. I've practice and practiced but just couldn't seem to do it right. My friends have told me that maybe because my jaws start to align and voice develops in between my years of 12-14, so being 16 rn, my vocals have already adapted to how they are, that it's difficult to change it now. I mostly have trouble with these three sounds air, ere, er (like her). not to mention these words: stretch and world. The r just seems like a really uncomfortable sound to make./ Soumetimes my cheek muscles start to hurt. I've mention too much, but my question I ask is as a 16 y.o how can I develop the skill to pronounce my r's without doing some sort of plastic surgery.
